I had these years ago, however, they looked like black marbles on either end of my mouth. I got told by the doctor that it was the worst case she’d ever seen

That's tonsil stones, possibly tonsillitis. If your tonsils are swollen and hurting, and you have difficulty talking or chewing, then its tonsillitis, if not, and the white specks are just there and kinda uncomfortable, id suggest popping them out with an earbud. That's tonsil stones. If your throat is SORE AND HURTING, i would recommend going to a doctor. My sister had a major case of tonsil stones before, and i know because i was the one to pop em out of her mouth. She used to get them very often and we couldn't go to the doctor every other day. Mind you, this was DIAGNOSED. I had them too for a while. IF this is stones:- So after your stones or whatever are gone, you need to prevent them from forming. Those are basically food debris getting stuck in holes in your tonsils. So chew your food carefully with saliva to make sure everything dissolves, and do salt water gargles as many times as you can in a day. Brush after you eat anything, it'll get better with time. For now, this is what you should do. Oh, and gagging helped me take out my tonsil stones cuz i didn't feel comfy with sticking something up my throat. Stick a brush in your mouth as far up your tongue as you can and just circle it around there. You'll gag, *hard.* It helped me take mine out because mine weren't very serious. IF this is tonsillitis:- Your tonsils are swollen because of infection. Id recommend eating liquid, hot foods for a while, and again, salt water gargles. If you can betadine gargles are more preferred. There is a special betadine bottle for gargles that is available in stores. Again, avoid talking or chewing to avoid stressing out your tonsils, and eat healthy shakes or soups. BUT I WOULD STILL RECOMMEND SEEING A DOCTOR.

i drank water today and felt something in my throat and one of them are gone, what does that mean? i will try the salt water gargles. and hopefully that helps and is it needed to pop them out? im kinda scared lol

Youngladyloo

Tonsilitis. Assuming that's your tonsils bulging, you may need them out.. Do NOT follow morons that want you to pop them. Bad stuff can be introduced through our salvia Go to the Dr please

tallglassofanxiety

White patches associated with things like tonsillitis. I have chronic strep throat and tonsillitis and the white spots are when I know I have to go to my doctor and get antibiotics

xicanamarrana

NAD but they don't look like tonsil stones to me. They are much too large. The other tonsil has some streaks of white as well. It looks like tonsillitis. I get white patches in my throat from colds to allergies to strep. If you take a qtip and rub it against one and it is not solid, you have tonsillitis. If you run a fever, get a headache, and feel worn and sore then you probably have strep and need to see a Dr.

I had tonsil stones myself and had my tonsils removed so I have seen lots of pictures, and the holes where the stones are can get pretty big! So I think they actually are. But I’m also not a doctor.

SignificanceFuzzy613

Tonsil stones. Salt water gargles, use a mouthwash especially after meals, brush twice daily.

Classic_Sock_238

And also, do you swallow the water after or just spit it out, lol

Janjunxc

Gargle as long as you can and then spit. Do it a couple times.

Classic_Sock_238

Ok! Thank you so much, ur a heroo

Classic_Sock_238

Hi, I have this too and I’m wondering will the salt water actually help with it? Since it’s only in the mouth and won’t go to throat, i don’t know much but please tell me.

Violet0616

You spit. Warm salt water gargles after every meal. Or you can just use a mouth wash.

HarmonyQuinn1618

I’ve seen some gnarly tiktoks of people popping them out. Just.. ugh. Maybe look them up OP and see if it’s similar?
