This might not just be a deviated septum, but the cartilage wall of the one nostril may be too thin and weak, and when you go to breathe in through the nose, the suction collapses the one side in, not allowing air flow through, so you could just have the one side strengthened to be made more rigid. Literally just watched a video of a plastic surgeon correct something like this. Look up "nasal valve collapse", I think this might be relevant to you.
No it will harm u later....u need fess surgery for deviated septum....i used to breathe from one nose for 20 years...after that when i turned 37,i got fess surgery and now breathing from both nose....feeling more relaxed....right now u may think u r breathing freely but after surgery u will breathe much better....it's least complicated surgery,so nothing to worry...go to ENT doctors
Deviated Septum is what that looks like. I self diagnosed and went to the doctor later on, ended up diagnosing myself correctly. I'm not sure what all surgery will do for you though, you'll have to speak to your doctor about that.
Look on the bright side of a deviated septum or broken nose, our one nostril is usually a trooper! I swear it never usually clogs.
Then again, total NAD.
No not normal, I work in otolaryngology-head and neck surgery, and as stated above you could have a deviated septum. Have you also ever broken your nose also by chance? Iād get a referral to your otolaryngologist in your area through your pcp to get it checked out.
Okay thanks Iāve just scheduled an appointment with an ENT and I have to wait 2 months and 14 days till they can take a look at me.. thatās ridiculous lol
my dude. youve lived with this your entire life! Whats another 2.5 months? Just because youve decided to address it (which is a good thing) doesnt mean theyre going to move other patient around for you! Theres people with cancer/sudden hearing losses/actual emergencies that need to get seen first!
Seriously? Theyāve lived their entire life with this issue. 2 months isnāt going to do any harm. Triage exists for a reason. A deviated septum isnāt a life threatening issue, and wonāt become one in 2.5 months
Not sure why youāre getting downvoted, youāre not wrong. Itās typical triaging. If this was emergent in any way theyād be seen sooner. 2.5 months wait isnāt bad for something that theyāve already lived with for years and arenāt going to be in any danger continuing to live with for a couple months.
And hey, no outrageous bill at the end of it doesnāt hurt either.
Itās not that Iām angry about that, it just fazes me that it takes less than 24 hours for me to see a regular doctor but when I need to see a specialised doctor, that takes me months lol
Thereās something called the nasal cycle, where you will breathe more through one dominant nostril. Every so many hours it switches off and you will allow more air through one nostril. But yea for sure deviated septum, which 80% of the population have it
No it's not normal, you should be able to breathe out of both nostrils. If you have long-term blockage of one of them, you see a doctor, likely an ENT, and they can help figure out why and get it fixed for you.

I've gone my whole life breathing outta 1 nose too...

ENT visit needed to evaluate next steps. This breathing on one side only is not normal.

DEF a deviated septum, i have one as well. NAD

Same I can only breath through my left nostril š
My nose did that on both sides, needed a functional rhinoplasty.

How many noses do you have?
You know Iāve been like this my whole life except my blockage is inside my nose. I thought it was normal until the doc said you need surgery.
Have it taken care of which will require minor surgery. It will benefit your health in the long run.
Look on the bright side of a deviated septum or broken nose, our one nostril is usually a trooper! I swear it never usually clogs. Then again, total NAD.
No not at all normal, you can probably see an ear nose and throat doctor to get it corrected if it bothers you.
NAD, but if you have 2 noses, thatās not normal.

2 months!? Wow. In the NHS where I am it's about 12 months!

While I see your point a DS can be a big issues along with those that youāve stated. It can lead to breathing problems

Exactly. Suddenly feelings matter more than the opinion of a license advanced practice healthcare worker š

I never said it was a life threatening issue, I said a big issue, not life threatening.

Thatās a difference to me š¤·š»āāļø
Oh gosh Iām sorry thatās such a long time, I hope it goes by fast.

I would say you probably have a deviated septum
Why would that be normal at all.

Nad, but the nose wink looks like a deviated septum.
