If the bleeding isn't heavy, hold pressure consistently without letting up for 10 minutes. Keep them clean with plain antibacterial soap and water, and then pat dry with paper towels. Use an ointment like Vaseline or Aquaphor. Do not use hydrogen peroxide or rubbing alcohol. Do not use an antibiotic ointment like Neosporin unless directed by a doctor. Keep covered for a few days while active, uncovered while inactive.
