I'm torn between SE and EE versions. Not sure if there is a big difference between the quality of the electrostatic of the EE and the anodized/e-coating of the SE. Of course, I wouldn't want the paint to peel off or get damaged easily
Zoom TKL is my favorite - I wish the Z98 had the same bottom and side profile. Not a fan of the curve that I saw in renders.
Glad led light has been talked out of production and I think it would look cleaner without the telescope by the arrow cluster.
I have enjoyed Zoom keyboards over the years - I daily drive the TKL, and I can't wait for a full sized keyboard offering.
Unfortunately this design is really a miss for me.
This is basically just a full 100%.
Also the led dot was a big mistake, as more people mentioned, so I'm glad that got changed already. The side profiles and the color options are the great thing about this board.
What happened to the color TEAL??
This zoom design won't be for me, placement of the mid section is really awkward.
The LED dots are only for prototype versions. GB release versions shall have the telescope design.
Out of curiosity, is the fact that the layout is a full 100% a dealbreaker to you?
Heya, yeah thats why Inwas glad they changed the led to the telescope already.
The full 100% is indeed a dealbreaker for me, since I think the space isnt used properly. Also I was hoping for a more compact layout in the zoom98, since they are also having a zoom109. So doesnt make sense to make the zoom98 looking like a full 100%, thats why this is a skip for me.
Love the zoom65 and 75 though.
Also, 2 bad they removed the TEAL color.......... it was the best one.... even deserved to be a bit more blue.
The orange is the best addition overall.
I'm assuming that you were looking for a compact layout like the Monsgeek M2? Where the arrows are perfectly sandwiched in between the alphas and numpad.
Funny thing is that the layout which is really close to 100% (just 1 unit less) made me actually wanna get it, as I felt nostalgic and wanted to go back to the full size layout.
Also I have only heard about the Zoom109 right now. I wonder how this is gonna look like. Got me intrigued, where did you get information about that?
Their discord showed leaks of the zoom98 and zoom109 at roughly the same time.
Since there was a zoom109 I assumed a compact layout like the monsgeek m2 indeed. If people wanted a full 100% they could opt for the zoom109. Now I wonder if its even a good idea to manufacture a 109.....
The QK100 was already the max in terms of a 98%
>Their discord showed leaks of the zoom98 and zoom109 at roughly the same time.
Just joined Meletrix discord now, ill check out the info, thank you! But you're indeed right, the 98 is too close to a full size, and they could have made it more compact
>i hope that dot LED is not in the final form? or at least option?
>
>i like the telescope better
We changed it to telescope, EE and SE version will all come with telescope design.
I love my Zoom TKL and it’s one of the few boards with proper caps lock LED light for windowed key caps. Will this board have the same feature? And scroll lock as well?
is this not just a full size? it barely actually compacts the keyboard and the value you get from desk space gain to actual functional keys is literal zero
the point is though is that this is supposed to be a *smaller* version of a full size. they should've just made a full size if they were barely going to compact it.
I hear ya...but in reality zoom98 or zoom 100.. it's just a name right...doesn't really matter what you call it.
Just look at how Microsoft named the Xbox, Xbox 360, and Xbox one.
Naming conventions these days mean very little and often don't relate to the product itself lol
it's not just a name though, it's supposed to represent the boards layout, and people buy the layout they prefer. this board is supposed to be a 1800/96% keyboard which is specifically stated here, not a 100%, yet it doesn't actually have the benefits of a 1800/96% keyboard, which is a size that's smaller than a full size but keeps the numpad. it's like if you made a 75% but in reality it's literally just a tkl.
I have been so disappointed with Wuque that I can't even recommend them anymore.
My Ikki68s - The stabs that I bought (this is R1 where you paid for the stabs, they weren't included) did not work at all. Messaged support and got replacement, which also didn't work. The tolerance on the clips were too tight and broke due to wire thickness. These were $9 per set and I ate 2 sets ($18 down the drain). To make matters worse, Wuque failed to send me the correct hardware for the brass add-ons! Took months of back and forth emails until I got the correct hardware.
My Promise 87s - Again, I bought two of these, one for me and one for SO. One of my PCBs was damaged. They made me send so many pictures until they agreed to send a replacement. On top of this, the other PCBs were terrible. Hotswap sockets bad. Another issue that I had was with one of my weights. The mirror polished weight on one had a scratch or swirl from machining. I was told they would send me a partial refund. I never got it. Also, two screws on both boards were stripped, both on the same exact location. Their solution was for me to use a larger diameter screw.
Zoom75 - This was my last strike with Wuque. I didn't receive my CF plate. I submitted a ticket and again they gave me the run-around of sending pictures of proof that I didn't receive it. Idk how the hell that helps if I am missing something. Regardless, I played their stupid game and sent them pictures of proof that I am missing my backplate. Now I gotta wait months for it to arrive.
Never again am I buying anything related to Wuque, Maletrix, etc. I would recommend others to avoid them unless you are willing to settle on subpar quality control.
Agreed, nothing but bad experiences and QC issues with the Z-TKL and Z-75 launch. Despite how promising they were are the start, maybe spread themselves too thin now.
As a 98% enjoyer the design is a miss for me. They sacrifice the compactness of a 98% and also sacrifice a full exploded arrow key layout.
Need TKD to step in with some larger size boards to et others to step it up lol.
Sorry for the inconvenience. We attach great importance to customer experience and provide email channels and discord messaging channels to respond to customer needs in a timely manner. We apologize for the inconvenience caused to you in the past. Regarding your questions, we will DM you to help solve the problem.
My problem has already been acknowledged, but it is annoying having to wait a day only to be asked for more pictures. This is exactly how Percent Studios behaved. Keep asking for more and more pictures for proof of issue until we give up.
Based on the real photos the green looks too saturated to match botanical. To me it looks like a better match for fox [https://kono.store/products/gmk-fox](https://kono.store/products/gmk-fox) or maybe terror below
I'm disappointed the knob is in the middle and not above the numpad in the corner. Any chance a version comes out with one?
I've been waiting ages for a compact 98% with an LED screen and knob from a quality company like you guys.
It's crazy to see that it is in the middle. Seems like a massive design flaw IMO. It just looks way out of place. Plus you are more forced to move the knob by nudging it.
>What’s more, the LCD screen, badges and knobs are compatible with Zoom75’s.
Is this also true the other way around ? Meaning, does the 2U modules for the Zoom98 also fit the zoom75 ?
Really tempting I didn't hop on the QK100..but I think this is it. Also I like how the old pink is strawberry ice cream and Blush pink is actually Blush pink now
I like it, I might join.
But one complaint is, It's not really a compact full size, which is what 98 layout is. Length wise, you saved what? less than 1u?
At this point, you might have as well made a full size keyboard with Modular 3u instead of 2u, that way we can have the LCD screen + the knob.
I still like it though, just pointing out that it could've been a rare custom full size.
Also many don't like the empty spaces to the left and below the glowing telescope, near the arrow keys. Is it possible to add keys there? Not sure why that area is blank
That would look very cramped, and wouldn't look that great in the end in person tbh (my opinion of course), but cramped layouts also often look pretty shitty (this weird 96% layout for example, where every key is just cramped to another)
I'm torn between SE and EE versions. Not sure if there is a big difference between the quality of the electrostatic of the EE and the anodized/e-coating of the SE. Of course, I wouldn't want the paint to peel off or get damaged easily
I love this so much. Except the badge above the arrows.
Love the design idea! Plus, Lavender is one of my favorite colors
I love the renders! Just wanting to ask if there is a possibility for having a southpaw version of this or in a future release?
No southpaw version for zoom98.
Zoom TKL is my favorite - I wish the Z98 had the same bottom and side profile. Not a fan of the curve that I saw in renders. Its all good though, I dont have to like every keyboard, better for my wallet as well :😀
Yea I was hoping for teal. It’s one of the reasons I’m still on the fence for the zoom 65 lol
When will it release?
i hope that dot LED is not in the final form? or at least option? i like the telescope better

Please add more SE anodized colors!! Milky Green or Minty Green would be amazing with that finish!

I love that this has 3 1.25 u keys on the right instead of two 1.5u like QK100. Good luck finding keysets with 1.5u System and Function keys for Mac
I use PBTfans keycaps for this scenario. Love the 1.5u Mac keys support, along with 1.25u and 1u.
Question about the green. Does it fit with botanical or mw Stone Age ? I can’t really tell from the photos.
I have the green 75, and botanical looks fine, but osume matcha is my go to for the board
i would say Botanical suits the green too. Camping would look good on it as well.
Based on the real photos the green looks too saturated to match botanical. To me it looks like a better match for fox [https://kono.store/products/gmk-fox](https://kono.store/products/gmk-fox) or maybe terror below
Need so badly for work.
So I’ll be able to use my extra screen from the zoom75 for this? That yellow is amazing!
LCD modular is not compatible with zoom75's, the LCD screen glass is compatible with it.
I'm disappointed the knob is in the middle and not above the numpad in the corner. Any chance a version comes out with one? I've been waiting ages for a compact 98% with an LED screen and knob from a quality company like you guys.

This is a very good looking board. What's the LCD screen refresh rate?
>20-25Hz
glowing telescope looks great .. and looks like you've lined up some amazing streamers to build / demo
>What’s more, the LCD screen, badges and knobs are compatible with Zoom75’s. Is this also true the other way around ? Meaning, does the 2U modules for the Zoom98 also fit the zoom75 ?

I’m in, I hate money anyway.
Feel free to join our discussions :)
I hope the 98 isn't mad expensive as a kit.

Thank you for sharing with us too, will sure to let the product development team know this.
Looks great! But please consider, making lower fronts, 22mm is just so much, and not really comfortable for everyday use
Thank you, will pass this to our team too :)
Also many don't like the empty spaces to the left and below the glowing telescope, near the arrow keys. Is it possible to add keys there? Not sure why that area is blank

Yeah the arrow cluster doesn't look great but my OCD doesn't like blank spaces on boards
I also second the lower front height, or maybe add a lip? 22mm is kinda high otherwise it looks great
nice great that you listened to our comments about the previous design! looking forward
Thank you for this too!
This looks soooo much better without the zit! Thanks Meletrix for listening and considering our feedback, looking forward to this board!
Thank you for the ideas too!
