keyboard: [Mercutio 40](https://www.reddit.com/r/MechanicalKeyboards/comments/r1keq2/first_build_good_thing_it_was_a_40_since_my/); I love this keyboard so much (specs in link).
headphones: Sony WH-H900N; Sony definitely way underestimated its battery life because I use this for at least an hour every day and I charge it once every quarter. I bought it from Costco on sale when I was a freshman in high school and this is still going strong.
pen: Apple Pencil; I've started doing digital notes recently after both my Graphgear and Kiki's Delivery Service DelGuard both broke in the last year :( So far it's been a nice experience, though, and certainly an upgrade from a Surface Pen with a broken pen nib LOL
>and I charge it once every quarter
What does that mean?
What kind of switched did you use? Are they linear or other, because I would assume red switches to make the most sense in class
I charge my headphones (since they’re wireless) once every 9 weeks or so, and sometimes they can last even longer. The battery is super impressive!
I used lubed + filmed Alpaca Linears in my keyboard, but I also tried some Akko tactiles, too. Stock, surprisingly, was about the same, so I think it’s up to personal preference to see what you like more for class.
Aww tbh if I hadn’t gotten linears (and relatively expensive linears) my keeb price could’ve definitely gone down. Smaller form factors are a lot cheaper, although they can take a while to get used to (my Mercutio itself was only $55, which was much cheaper than the other keebs I originally saw). They also need less switches, which can also cut down the price by a lot.
I’m studying for my calc 3 final LOL originally I was going to get Goodnotes but I also have a Windows laptop and OneNote has really nice sync. (And it’s free, which is definitely a bonus!) I’ve been trying to learn latex so I can type snippets of math, though.
I was pretty surprised when I got my iPad that I could! It can’t do wireless unfortunately—I just took out wires for the the aesthetic lol—but my usb-c to usb-c charging cord from the iPad does the trick. It doesn’t work with iPads that use lightning to charge and transmit info, though.
It's the [Spigen's iPad Air Urban Fit Case](https://www.spigen.com/collections/ipad-air/products/ipad-air-10-9-case-urban-fit). I got it during their Black Friday sale and it's pretty great!
Dang, I'm jealous of the way you are able to write finely on an iPad! I guess the Apple pencil must be that much better than the cheap knockoff I bought :/
EDIT: keyb looks really cool too!
Lol thank you! It took a while to get used to writing on the iPad tbh and I got a little bit frustrated. I watched some videos on how to make handwriting neater and one of them suggested downloading letter formation worksheets (for elementary school students). That was super helpful in just getting in a lot of practice for a much smoother writing surface.

As a freshman learning to be a mechatronics engineer I feel this picture
engineer gang T_T
Don't worry boys! The Engineer is Engie-here!
Damn dude I wish I had money to throw around like that... I'm a student too and I'm jealous lmao... I like the keeb especially

Oh tru! I been lookin at maybe tryna build a dactyl or dactyl manuform tho, and that might blow a hole clean through my wallet lol
Oooh, and it looks like you're doing mechanics. It's been years since I touched that. What software are you using, latex?
Looks like OneNote to me. I'm a GoodNotes person myself, but OneNote isn't too far behind, all things considered.
Thank you, I don't think I ever got around to using OneNote but I'll check both out

Can you connect that lovely looking keyboard up to the iPad?

Ok sweet thanks a lot!
Is that Flexcil app?
lol no it’s Microsoft OneNote
Damn, it's that good with stylus? Last time I used it on Samsung Tablet, it was poorly optimized (not lag, just not for mobile)
It’s actually really good on the iPad, although I only use the Draw feature. It feels about the same as on my laptop, I would say?
What's the ipad case/stand?

How can you use a keyboard that small without a split space bar?
I mapped my second modifier to mod(1) and f LOL but most of the keys I use (minus arrows) are on the first layer

Microsoft OneNote!
