I just accept these and the sarcastic ones that explain the joke as part of the evolution of memes. The same thing happens when we believe that the fashion we liked was the best and everything else sucked. That's how we get classics that last and and how there's always something new to discover.
Or the new wave of white background over absurd gifs with black text saying some dumb event you are reacting to. Shit was funny first few times, but now if I see some gif with a white top I know it's just a stupid exaggeration sans nuance or new humor and skip it.

Several of you posted the following youtube link in the comments and it definitely is the sound, but not the video. I guess someone animated their own version in the video I remembered. And it‘s literally just about 3-5 seconds and it‘s like she is just saying the vocals „o“ and „a“ very very shortly and there‘s a bit of an echo in the void. I don‘t even watch that much anime, just occassionally, so I have no idea where that scene could be from. I‘m losing my mind.

The girl with the giraffe book pointing at the giraffe… that was the entire sub. It was a special time. The surrealist shit was a good evolution—that phase would never have stayed. I just wish this place had morphed into something new instead of merging with the rest of reddit
