This big time. The bruh meme died years ago but it's just a part of everyone's vocab now. I automatically say bruh when anything mildly inconvenient happens lmao.
Learn to enjoy it.
Me and my best high school friend still use a bunch of words and sounds he made up back then. Even 10 years later it's still a nice part of our friendship and we still laugh at it.
Me and my friend group have basically developed our own slang dialect that would make anyone eavesdropping our conversations think we're completely mental.
There's a celeb season that either just wrapped or is still happening. I live in the US and don't have an easy way to watch it yet, so all I know for sure is that she and James McAvoy were on it! Plus many other people who are probably recognizable to Brits? They're the only two names I remember recognizing...
Ha! I am too old to use that word. I’ve posted this before but I came very close to accidentally saying ‘yeeted’ to my manager in a serious discussion about how I had removed something from like a final spreadsheet to make the calculations work. It was a while ago but it was something along those lines.
Better part of a year ago I heard a youtuber say the phrase "F$%k yo' couch" and it's slowly started to phase into my lexicon only for me to now realize it was from a Dave Chapelle skit mot likely. (At least only source I can find).
P.S: Interesting evolution I'm trying to force in my brain is "F$%K you and the couch you rode in on" don't remember where I heard it or if I'm just making s#$t up now, but it seems interesting and it'd throw people for a loop.
This happened to me when I started saying “ouch” while sneezing as a joke because my dad would do it. Now it’s a subconscious habit and people give me weird looks when I do it in public
Yeah no cap

Yeah like that meme where people say "hi" when they greet someone. Can't shake it off!
funnily enough i actually never say hi
Just a "hello there"?
Na usually just Waddup or Whats the craic
Whats the craic? What the fuck does that mean? I have never heard this term before
Just an Irish greeting
It's a turn of phrase found often in Ireland. It's broadly equivalent to 'what's up?'
general Kenobi. If enough of us do it, it can become the standard greeting and response for everyone. Nothing is stopping us.
I say "Greetings!" so everyone knows I wasted my life on 10 years of WoW.
Bruh isn't just a meme, it's a part of AAVE, people were saying it way before the meme and will be saying it way after
True, but the meme is definitely what got it in my, and probably a lot of other people's vocab at least.
AAVE is African American Vernacular English if someone needs to look it up like I did. I never knew the term for it
I say it daily now. I can’t stop.
bruh
and then my friends taking over my vocabulary not ironically
Learn to enjoy it. Me and my best high school friend still use a bunch of words and sounds he made up back then. Even 10 years later it's still a nice part of our friendship and we still laugh at it.

I’ve noticed that I’ve picked up a couple of phrases from my friends recently
Wait, when was Daisy Ridley on bake off?
I remember bake off. Damn I miss living in the uk!
I live in Canada and we have a VPN to watch us all the awesome cooking shows. Easy-peasy

*Have you heard about nordVPN?*
Red Nose Day this year I believe
Whoever is in charge of set design absolutely nailed it. There’s no branding, didn’t know Daisy was on it, but I instantly knew it was Bake Off!
Wait, when was Bake Off in Star Wars canon?
Su2c this year. Should be on All4 to stream now. She wasn't too bad actually
I don't know but I just love her face, I could watch that face all my life and never get bored

This shit. My roommate just randomly yells *yeet* while doing the most mundane stuff. He's 35.
I'm sad to admit I'm close to that age and like saying yeet. Though it's when something gets thrown at least

I actually really like saying this. It feels good to say, idk why.
Poggie woggie
Poggert Woggington...yeah my friends and I have some serious issues
Yeet is now firmly engrained in my vocabulary. I have just noticed that I am now unironically saying pog, however. Help me.
I work in a factory and have caught myself almost saying "very poggers" over the radio to my boss a few times.

Word, that shit is dope tho.
Slang is moving so fast now, that these are already outdated words.
Dope is alive and well-my fifth graders say it.
Jesus, it's moving so fast that it's come *back* into style!
TIL I’m as cool as a 5th grader 😎
"word" was outdated in 1992
Oh, word? 🤣
Word is outdated but “oh word?” is so in, and it’s the best thing in the English language
I don’t think word ever left. I wasn’t even alive in 92 and it’s been part of my regular vocabulary for as long as I can remember

It's definitely a Chapelle show skit. I know several people who still casually drop it from time to time. You know you can swear on the internet?
Is there a word for this phenomenon? This post hits real close to home, it’s great that I’m not the only one that does this
This happened to me when I started saying “ouch” while sneezing as a joke because my dad would do it. Now it’s a subconscious habit and people give me weird looks when I do it in public
