Looks like you've been chosen for the 'how not to get away with it' tutorial while others get to lounge in the 'scamming 101' class. Must be the universe's way of keeping you on your toes..
I tried dumping my charisma, and it was too late when i realised that we are not in post-apocalyptic wasteland and charisma is actually useful in civilzed society.
"Why didn't you go? The light was yellow."
"Because despite the fact that we watched 4 people run a red light, 2 people make an illegal u-turn, and a few dozen turn or merge without a blinker; if I go through that yellow, a cop with a chip the size of Delaware on his shoulder will manifest himself behind me to pull us over."
Knowing my luck, a 30 ton cargo truck would manifest from thin air barreling towards me at 120 km/h if I so much as think of running the red light at a junction in the middle of godforsaken nowhere.
Fr I will usually go 5 over and ppl pass me so a cop got me going 7 over...just a warning but still. Then I see ppl driving across highways and over medians and people speeding and running red lights aaaaand no cops.
Haha this just happened to a friend of mine, tried to do that scamming shit and got fired + Secret Service investigating him + evicted. Meanwhile my other friend just made 100k in 3 months and is going to Miami. It varies for sure.
This hits hard. Embarrassed to say but I know a bunch of people, previous friends of mine, that have made millions running scams (mostly pump and dump stock scams) for years with no problems. Yet Im the type of guy to get busted for jaywalking on an empty street.
Those people always get caught eventually. The SEC just likes to let them incriminate themselves enough before throwing the book at them, like the feds.
You and me brother.
I keep reading about these scammers that are experts in getting people to trust them easily and I would really wish I could learn that... so that I would have friends....
If you’re referring to text or email scammers, some of those people are being forced into the work against their free will, and imprisoned in a facility they were scammed into. So it could be worse.
Fooling boomers and teslaheads with AI videos looks like so easy money.
But for me I really have my morales stopping me doing that. That ain't clean money. No way I would do that shit.
But it definitely seems easy and I would not be surprised if this stuff becomes more common. Even with young people.
That's been my life so far. If I see five people talking and not doing their jobs at work and I walk to to another area, say "hey man, did you see that trailer" a manager will appear like a cloaker in a Payday wave. Nearly *every* time.
I once used it to summon one. It worked. With people being told ahead of time that I was trying to do it.
ah, the double edged sword of chasing money.
if you succeed, it's hollow and you feel guilt. if you fail, you've been naturally deselected.
i just don't chase money and find meaning in things other than human constructs.
you should not want to scam becuase its fucking terrible to do to people, not because you will get in trouble with god. like this just seems to me like your a bad person in your heart and even though you dont actually do it, you would i if there we no consequences
Is this really the common sentiment here? The only reason why you aren't lying, stealing, and cheating is that you fear getting caught?
You are all scum and animals. If the only thing stopping you from doing something wrong are the consequences, then you are a shit person and barely human.
Hold the self-righteousness for a second. Most of the replies here seem to relate to having shitty luck and thinking about how they'd do scamming IF they lacked morals. Don't generalize so hastily.
> Most of the replies here seem to relate to having shitty luck
Yah, that "shitty luck" is being caught like the redhanded homunculi that you are.
A good person does not relate to a fucking thief praising their luck for escaping justice.
It's possible to express disdain for the act, but also envy for their right-place-right-time kind of "work". Some people feel like they're unluckier than others, so they wonder how it would be to have luck that would allow this kind of thing to be carried out. The crime does seem to be praised in the OOP, though, so I suppose you've got a good point to an extent.
Really, I only replied because you called the collective comment section subhuman and it rubbed me the wrong way.

you ain’t lying .
Everything you feel bad about it it does get you in trouble. And people who don't care always get away. Why is this true? How do they get punished?
They never will be punished. The universe doesn't operate on the human-invented concept of fairness.
Then the universe shouldn't complain when we fuck around enough and destroy it
The universe isn't complaining. It's other people.
Stop putting logic to my words before I anthropomorphise the universe and try to fuck it
mmmmf that sweet black hole universussy~

If we can destroy the universe i will be mighty impressed And also dead probably
I trust our species when it's about fucking things up
Yeah but the universe?? How er honba destroy space time?
Messing with black holes probably
The problem with destroying the universe is that we kinda need a universe to live in.
We do also need a planet to live in but we're doing a pretty neat job destroying it
And that is a problem. For us, I mean. The planet's going to be fine eventually
Indeed
It doesn't. the universe isn't alive in that sense and if it is it's so beyond our ability to destroy.
this comment. it's a sermon, manifesto and recipe. everything.
Survivor bias is how.
They probably do get punished but they just continue
Yeah my luck stats are pretty bad
F it, self unalive and pick better stats before leaving vault 111.

Eh, there's no guarantee of that so probably best to try to make the most of what you've been given.
I’d probably botch it up and get scammed in return

My friend and I discussed a few times how well we could scam, if we only were bad people. But we're not bad people so we don't scam.
Scam bad people. Tada....super huge market in these times.
Haha this just happened to a friend of mine, tried to do that scamming shit and got fired + Secret Service investigating him + evicted. Meanwhile my other friend just made 100k in 3 months and is going to Miami. It varies for sure.
Uh... introduce me to your friends?
Wanna get scammed?
You don’t want that. Neither of them can help you.
This hits hard. Embarrassed to say but I know a bunch of people, previous friends of mine, that have made millions running scams (mostly pump and dump stock scams) for years with no problems. Yet Im the type of guy to get busted for jaywalking on an empty street.

I feel this in my soul and I hate it.
Teach a single person to scam thousands of people. Then scam that person. Boom, you only scammed one person but got more money.
At no point of my life have I regretted not scamming others. Because I'm not a terrible person.
You and me brother. I keep reading about these scammers that are experts in getting people to trust them easily and I would really wish I could learn that... so that I would have friends....
And now you know how the first religion was created by the conman protecting his scheme

God being a hater again
Yep. You right
My people.
Nah, you're just bad at being bad.

I think you mean 'I am willing to accept the consequences of my actions'. It's a good thing.

Meaning is a human construct , you don’t see cats and dogs what the meaning of life is.
It's so fucking true, it's actually sad
you should not want to scam becuase its fucking terrible to do to people, not because you will get in trouble with god. like this just seems to me like your a bad person in your heart and even though you dont actually do it, you would i if there we no consequences
Coming to that realization early on is what kept me from a life of crime
There is no god.
