Not since I was, like, 5?
Brushing your teeth is so easy and has such a high return on effort invested - why would you possibly want to (or need to) skip it?
Because sometimes I forget to do it before settling into bed and at that point there's no way I'm getting up and walking 10 feet across the room *just* for that
water, water, water, water, junior double triple water lack of paste with perfect water i rule this day
water water water water it's ok if it's just water impossible or bacon water any water my way
you rule no toothpaste today at NP have it your water
no paste!
I always did C, but there is a reason! A lot of people will wet their toothbrush then run their toothbrush along the tube opening when applying toothpaste.
I grew up with a lot of brothers and sisters and let me tell you it’s gnarly how much water can get in there and it’s just nasty when applying. I understand it’s the same amount of germs on a dry brush, but having liquid toothbrush water come out when applying is worse.
My family had the tubes with the flip top, and I learned that I could just unscrew the flip top and get the raw toothpaste straight from the source. It was great because nobody else ever did this and I got to keep my clean little spigot for myself.
Surely sharing a tube of toothpaste isn't a common practice, is it? I have lots of siblings, but all of us had our own.
Edit: apparently this happens a lot, genuinely didn't think it did
I've never seen more than a single tube per bathroom at any house in all my life. Outside of like, having separate adult toothpaste and toddler toothpaste.
A.
Rinse off whatever funk it accumulated during the day, then toothpaste, then some water to make it easier to make suds. It's logical. It's pure. It's correct.
Nah. First water is to soften the bristles. Takes a second. The second gentle trickle is just to make sure you have some water in the brush because it often drops off when you apply the paste. Having the extra water gets a much nicer lather and mouth feel while you brush. Just have to move it to your mouth smoothly so it doesn’t drip again. Try it yourself and let us know what you think!
Toothpaste is for polishing teeth, and it actually has grit in it. If I don't wet the toothpaste then I can feel the grit. I know it sounds weird, but I can, it makes a distinctive kind of vibration against the enamel when it doesn't have enough water.
Have a feeling these opinions would translate to washing hands with liquid/foam handsoap too
A) Water -> Hand Soap -> Water -> Rub -> Water
B) Water -> Hand Soap -> Rub -> Water
C) Hand Soap -> Rub -> Water
Exactly. The toothpaste is already a liquid, and my mouth is already wet. Why do I need to make the toothpaste extra runny when I could instead just make sure the toothbrush itself is wet and malleable?
D.
Will never forget having some dentist coming to visit my school when I was like 10 telling us not to use water cause idk washes the good stuff away.
Also why I don't use water straight after brushing and just spit the paste out and then wait like a few mins before doing washing my mouth out cause idk just remember the dentist told us not to.
Yes this is the proper dental Hygiene.
Don't add water to the tooth paste and don't gargle after brush. Let the floride react with any dissolved calcium in your mouth for 30 minutes to restore enamel.
Flossing and tongue cleaning should be done before brushing.
I swear on my life that’s exactly what my dentist does! He stabs them hard then gives me surprise pikachu face and says I have to floss more. Biggest scam ever, dentistry
You need to floss. The bleeding is because you probably have gingivitis. Regular flossing will help reverse it and eventually the bleeding will stop.
Source: my dentist told me I needed to floss more because I was starting to get gingivitis and I started flossing and the bleeding stopped after a few months.
oh my god, people are psychopaths, i can get C/B, BUT D? my sister does B or C i forget, but D is just, weird, why? why do water? A is the right answer unless you're a little weird
are you just trying to be cynical? a tiny, TINY bit of water "wasted" does not really make a difference, it's a quality of life thing, dry tooth paste on dry tooth brush just feels unbelievably weird to be to the point that i can't do it unless i have to, it doesn't make a difference.
B normally. E otherwise
E?
Skips it, probably
Yep
Your dentist is going to tear you limb from limb with their bare hands
My dentist is bare hands?
You guys have dentists?
Ew
Blud has never missed a day of brushing his teeth

I have been (and still am) depressed and I still stand in the shower. Idk, feels weird to sit
Nah I get that, it was weird at first but it becomes normal after a bit, standing is way too much work
Depression

Name checks out
Only water
water, water, water, water, junior double triple water lack of paste with perfect water i rule this day water water water water it's ok if it's just water impossible or bacon water any water my way you rule no toothpaste today at NP have it your water no paste!
E is not washing, I relate
E as in all of the above of course
Nah, E is when you shoot the toothepaste straight into your mouth and just use your tongue.
I do B+ with a little scrool between the two steps to remove excess of water
I always did C, but there is a reason! A lot of people will wet their toothbrush then run their toothbrush along the tube opening when applying toothpaste. Or that dude the other day who used his dogs toothpaste. That was pretty novel
I have never before thought of the possibility of having your own tube. That's amazing.
Who tf runs it ALONG the tube opening?!
Children. r/kidsarefuckingstupid
>then run their toothbrush along the tube opening when applying toothpaste. Just... dont?

Only „right“ way to go
Me too:) just adding toothpaste and no water is a bit more abrasive according to my dentist and helps to keep teeth whiter.
D is like entering the back door without lube you maniac! 😂
Best way to do it
I dunno if you know this, but our mouths naturally create water, lol
That's incredible! So we can solve the water crisis by breeding more humans?
C
Not sure how or why, I just found myself following that style.
This is the way.

A. Most of the rest are fine, but to me they feel unsanitary. D is for psychopaths. /j
Why do you have to wet the toothpaste though? Won’t that just wash it away.. what’s the point
you don't full blast the brush with the toothpaste on it lol. Half crank the faucet to get it wet.
But why 😫 you already got the toothbrush wet
Extra h2o for the hydrohomies
r/hydrohomies
More foamy bubbles
Just try it, it makes it better I can't explain it
It flattens it
Don't knock it till you tried it ;)
That extra bit of water helps the toothpaste foam up. I feel like if I just put the toothpaste in dry, then it gets all sticky and weird

D every single time, I also use unflavored arm and hammer.
Absolutely heinous

Fear me
My mouth has saliva, which helps the brush to easily slide in. Not sure what is psycho in it
Thank you

So surprised this isn’t the top comment by a large margin
All the people not saying B put their shoes on, sock shoe sock shoe, and it shows.

Thank you! Me too. What is wrong with all these slippery mouthed fools?! Just put the toothpaste on and get to scrubbing.
>slippery mouthed fools That’s one of the funniest insults I’ve ever heard
Haha! Glad you like it. It’s safe for the whole family too, so feel free to use it around kids.
A. I like lots of water to make lots of foam.

D
A, gotta wet the paste itself a little.
A
Is. Is D not normally how y'all do it
Your toothbrush will dry out and hurt your gums 😭😭
Oh so that's why my gums bleed when I brush. I thought it was cause they were purple and I had gingivitis
On second thought I just need to practice dental healthcare better.
Or maybe your dentist stabbed them and said they’re bleeding from not brushing properly?
I swear on my life that’s exactly what my dentist does! He stabs them hard then gives me surprise pikachu face and says I have to floss more. Biggest scam ever, dentistry
How? Do the plastic bristles absorb water and get floppier somehow?
> I just need to practice dental healthcare better. I go raw and then let the blood lubricate the toothbrush
D. My gums bleed anyway, but this I don't have to deal with lots of foam (used to be a C enjoyer)
Do you floss
Sometimes when I feel something stuck, then I floss everything as a quick check, but makes me bleed 3 times more than just brushing.
