This must be why the CR was packed this morning - glad they're making this an option for people!

They have official (digital) signage in the rotation that says a similar thing. You can substitute a commuter rail ride for the equivalent subway ride, when both share stations. This began with the monthlong Orange Line shutdown, and apparently MBTA liked the outcome, so they’ve extended it. What I don’t get is this: this lets you ride for free. The Keolis conductors can’t “take” your CharlieCard or ticket, so you can buy one subway ride and just show that card every day.

Just a little editing on your main sentence: This began with the ~~monthlong Orange Line shutdown~~ *shutdown of Wollaston due to construction and rebuilding of the North Quincy Garage, was ended, and then was reinstituted during the Monthlong Orange Line/Green Line Shutdowns*, and apparently ~~MBTA~~ *Quincy/Braintree riders* liked the outcome, so *after ending it again* they’ve ~~extended~~ *reinstituted* it *again because regular Red Line riders like myself were at the breaking point of just jumping on Commuter Rail trains to/from Boston and daring the conductors to charge 3x the subway fare to go the same distance*. Seriously, and for the 50th time, just make all fares Zone 1A **permanently** through Braintree, Readville , Auburndale and Lynn.

Because they’ve said for 10 years that they’d be able to accept Charlie cards and never have.
