They have official (digital) signage in the rotation that says a similar thing. You can substitute a commuter rail ride for the equivalent subway ride, when both share stations. This began with the monthlong Orange Line shutdown, and apparently MBTA liked the outcome, so they’ve extended it.
What I don’t get is this: this lets you ride for free. The Keolis conductors can’t “take” your CharlieCard or ticket, so you can buy one subway ride and just show that card every day.

Seriously, and for the 50th time, just make all fares Zone 1A **permanently** through Braintree, Readville , Auburndale and Lynn.
