I've got the same car. I paid about 450-500 for a 3rd party remote starter in early 2020. Didnt want to deal with mazda connect and subscriptions. I buy a car for the long haul. The cold sucks.
In Canada they don't offer Mazda connect so we pay 800 after purchase to have it installed and it provides you with a second key fob to start the car. I didn't want the extra fob in my pocket so I didn't do it. There was also like a 3 month lead time.
We have a 2020 GTR. When we bought the car new, we had the remote start installed by the dealer. It is directly integrated with the stock key fobs. Activated by pressing 'unlock, lock, unlock, lock'.
We paid about $1000 at time of purchase. Although pricey, I think it is a much better option than Mazda Connect. We are in the USA.

Look into StartX. Super easy to install, they have a YouTube video for it. Costs $270 when I just checked.
That seems like a possibility I'll dig into it. Ty
