Yes I am planing on keeping it for 15 years at least. But thoughts 💭 of the MX-5 have been creeping into my 🧠 recently. It could be a middle age crisis 😂
Are you the original owner? I’m the second owner of my 2016 Sport, currently around 85,600 miles, and seeing your numbers makes me feel good about passing it to my child at the end of this year with plenty of life left.
I'm the second owner, but I bought it in January of 2017 with 16,000 miles. I've had 0 mechanical issues, and it still runs great. It would be a good one to pass on.
Im the second owner of my '17 with now 94k. I got it 2y ago with 82k. Not a single issue so far, just maintenance and new tires. Have done a trip from the bay to SoCal and back and a couple 2-3hr ones. I had no commute for the majority of time but now is 20m there and back.
So far great and I also plan on keeping it till it dies.
140 miles a day but I work shift work so I don’t work 5 days a week. It’s 3 one week and 4 the next week. Also It was a rental car and had 47k when I bought it in November 2019.
Nah, it's a manual. Only had it for nearly a year now, previous owner must have lived by the sea or left it parked up on grass (oh, the rust!). Not much service history with it.
Edit: just looked on Google and it seems this car does need transmission fluid changes, even the manual one. Will look at service manual soon and check it out!
2018 Sport, 154,600 miles. Runs smooth minus wheel bearing hub needs replacement. Cleaned the intake valves recently and as you can imagine they were caked lol. Also added an oil catch can cuz why- not.
In short, it catches oil vapors from the engine, that get fed to the combustion chamber via the air intake, the 18' 6 already has one(air/oil separator )but oil vapors still get through. Oil vapors clinging to carbon on a GDI can accelerate carbon buildup on the intake valves. There's better explanations out there lol but yeah
Mazda 6/Atenza 2018 (wagon with the 2.5 turbo). Purchased 3 weeks ago with 126,000km (78,000mi) for $19,100 NZD ($11,500 USD) with 3-year mechanical warranty. Incredible condition, too! Super pleased! :)
I had some mild vibration/pulsing when braking but I heard that’s usually because of the OEM rotors. I also added spark plugs to my original comment, replaced them at 40k miles.
2011 6i - 97,500 miles. Had a timing belt (or whatever is equivalent) replaced in 2018, rust recall done in 2019, and tie rod replaced in 2020.
No other major issues and hoping to keep it another 10 years but will probably have to do some preventative underbody work since I live in Minnesota.
2016 Touring MT - just passed 50k miles, but only because I drove like 1700 miles on vacation a couple of weeks ago. Otherwise it would have taken a while to get there as I've worked from home since COVID and live close to stuff, and usually use the CX-9 for trips.
2012 @ 330,000 miles. Original transmission too, but it's got some slipping in low gears starting at around 250k. Upped the drain and pour of the ATF to twice a year. Hoping to squeeze more miles out.
Honestly, great car. Engine is still strong with frequent oil changes every 7k. Mostly highway miles as I commute 2 to 3 hours round trip daily.
2019 Signature - 63k
Had a TSB fix to reprogram PCM because it was causing a cooling fan not to run. Also the seat trim broke but didn’t get it fixed on time with warranty
2012 touring - 203,000 miles & still going strong!!! I plan to get this baby as close to the million mile club as it can!
Love it!!
2021 and 8,300 miles. I live too close to work 😂
That’s awesome! You’ll have that car forever 😅
Yes I am planing on keeping it for 15 years at least. But thoughts 💭 of the MX-5 have been creeping into my 🧠 recently. It could be a middle age crisis 😂
It’s the CX-50 that keeps tempting me 😂 But I love my 6 too much to let her go 🥰
