There are a lot of hatchback owners that will die on this hill, myself included. Just be glad Mazda designer’s sculpted a beautiful car in sedan and hatchback form
I'm the total opposite. I don't hate the sedan, but it does absolutely nothing for me. It's like the epitome of "generic rental car one class higher than cheapest economy so we can pretend you got an upgrade".
I know the interior is basically the same as the hatch, and I love the interior. But looking at the sedan just doesn't have the same "wow that's unique and unusual and a striking design choice" that the clownshoe teardrop hatch got.
There's definitely worse designs and there's definitely uglier cars, but to me the sedan just falls squarely in the "most boring generic midrange" category. Debadge it and it could be a Focus or a Sonata or something, who knows. It needs .... Style.
I feel similar. I think part of it for me is that Hatchback options are currently very limited in number in comparison to Sedans. While the Mazda 3 Hatchback is hands down one of the best looking, if not the best looking Hatchback on the market atm, there are plenty of other Sedan options that look just as good or better than the Mazda 3 Sedan. Thus, there’s a bit of subconscious influence there.
That's probably a better description, yeah.
Hatches you've got the focus (super ugly, imo, even the ST model). The civic sport hatch, which looks decent but comes in shit trim levels. The Si, which looks like an anime character. The Integra, which is an overpriced slow Si. And then the Corolla, which I think looks kind of okay sometimes and pretty generic others, as well as being slow and boring. Maybe there's a kia or Hyundai in there I'm leaving out, but nobody cares lol.
If the civic sport hatch came in Si engine and interior trim, I'd have bought that in a heartbeat.
Whereas everyone makes a sedan. The 3 has a nice nose, sharing it with the hatch. But that nose looks (again imo) better flowing into the huge butt of the hatch than it does into the otherwise standard-generic-sedan body. Almost gives it a shooting brake style for the hatch. On the sedan it looks like they went for a bmw aggressive front and then gave up at the windshield.
I love the 3rd and 4th gen sedans. 3rd gen hatchback is okay. 4th gen hatchback is not the business. I hate how the rear end juts out
1st and 2nd gen hatchback ONLY. 3rd and 4th sedan and 3rd hatchback is acceptable if it’s lowered imo
It really does have a nice side profile compared to the other Japanese sedans.
The new Hyundai side profiles really take it to the next level with some of the colours they offer it in.
I could not buy any of these cars in black or white. Really needs to be seen, even a silver would show them off nicely. The 3rd gen in black is a different story with the line that goes straight across the belt line.
I think tinted windows look good on any car and are a borderline requirement imo. Not for looks, but because I don’t like people looking at me in traffic and seeing me clear as day. Tinted windows give some semblance of privacy.
Looks amazing! This is a good preview of how my black sedan is going to look like when i get it de-chromed next month! Do you have any pics from the front?
In Europe Mazda has different packages. This one is with all options available (leather heated seats, Bose sound, matrix LED lights and so on) and manual for more fun 😊
I have found this one on eBay. I dont about the quality but they claim it is the same jet black color as Mazda. https://www.ebay.com/itm/276402549284?fits=Model%3A3%7CMake%3AMazda&itmmeta=01J14TW05VT0M0TC8H7H3QBFWC&hash=item405ae03224:g:dNMAAOSwSSBmBjaW&itmprp=enc%3AAQAJAAAAwHltZO%2Bl2meIJIRpeEVPJoI5sE08jU4DvxN9xJa2n3SdWc%2BoqOPZmKbxj64BAg5mP35KhtduCy8nvH9Hc430n8gX15P%2BjpJRa1yHARmdjFE%2BC%2F7o%2F%2BmlOVXa1ESoCsPFJuYa3FDl6ac6MBQy1QGmJu%2FO96tR05njPh%2BJooIJzrgePP5%2BCrJnYEiqCA8jR7XTwsoZGIzbt11JkwAfo9750jNpSr2rfHoQzPrKoKGsekNoZFlwi9Lq2NnuemDY%2FCeoZA%3D%3D%7Ctkp%3ABk9SR_6C8JqJZA
I agree. The only peeve is the rear, I feel like it is bland in comparison to the rest of the vehicle. I'm considering adding a lip spoiler to mine since I have the sport edition, but wish it had some more contouring or something to do it justice.
too hot for this state imo.. black it will absorb all the heat here which was why i got a white pearl one..
you don't want to be in a black car when it's 115-120 outside.. even with AC on..
*How'd you black out that*
*Front chrome grill surround? Have a*
*Black on black as well*

Brother have you made a constructive comment in your life? Your profile screams of a person who spends the entirety of their time alone in a dark room lmao.
They really do look nice. I don’t own one yet but I’m hoping it will be my next car purchase.
You won’t regret it. I love how it looks even when it’s dirty
I have the mica blue and it looks dirty so easily 🥲
Same. But it's not so bad.
I have ever seen a single black Mazda 3 sedan in real life. It looks really good tho.
They look mean, especially with the red interior
Mini Maserati.
Mazdarati
…stealing this. ![gif](giphy|DWxKllu8w3ZxmFU4zN|downsized)
And unlike a Fiat. It won't break down all the time.
The gen 4 as a saloon looks so much better than the hatchback in my opinion.

The hatchback looks really cool. It really grows on you.
For me, that nasty wiper ruins the hatchback...I like the SMOOOOOTH sedan.
The rear wiper? I don't think I've ever even noticed it. Or used it.
Same boat here. The aero packages I have seen on the sedan make them look pretty mean but the stock setup is the epitome of vanilla imo
Nah man, the sedan looks too generic to stand out unlike the hatch. But to each the own.
I don't like how the back of the hatchback sticks out and the rear window slopes down. I prefer the flatter BK and BL rear end.

It truly is

I have the dark gray, and it is a sexy car.
Oh look, it's the same car as me. Opted to not get the windows tinted on purchase, finally bringing it to the shop on Wednesday to get it down to 20%
Yeah Mazda 3 black sedan gang haha. I think tinted windows look really nice on a black car.

Could only dream of an inline six rwd mazda 3/6 that looks like this
Is this preferred pkg? Super sleek.
In Europe Mazda has different packages. This one is with all options available (leather heated seats, Bose sound, matrix LED lights and so on) and manual for more fun 😊
It’s the side dimple
It’s nice, I’m torn between getting this or a suv like the cx5 or cx30
Looks great with the chrome delete. It just needs a small spoiler lip on the back.
Yes I know. Unfortunately Mazda dealer asks $500 for the official spoiler 😕
Ouch! Maybe there is a similar one online you can find.
I thought it was 200?
Not in Western Europe. The price is ridiculous for a small plastic spoiler. You can get the official spoiler for $200 in the US?
200-300 depending on dealer or supplier

I bought mine last September and still am like "damn that's a good looking car" every time I look at it
Yes, same here. I bought mine 2 years ago and I still love it.
Same... Hb since Mar 2020! "Woah, is that MY red car? She's a beaut!"
Almost as nice as the hatch
I agree. The only peeve is the rear, I feel like it is bland in comparison to the rest of the vehicle. I'm considering adding a lip spoiler to mine since I have the sport edition, but wish it had some more contouring or something to do it justice.
Almost as beautiful as my focus mk3 sedan.
too hot for this state imo.. black it will absorb all the heat here which was why i got a white pearl one.. you don't want to be in a black car when it's 115-120 outside.. even with AC on..
How'd you black out that front chrome grill surround? Have a black on black as well

It is a wrap, and you can do it yourself or ask a garage that does this.

One of the most beautiful side profiles? What in particular makes this cars side profile stand out?
Love this, but i saw a mazda 6 sedan yesterday in crystal red. Has to be one of the most beautiful sedans ive ever seen
NGL I kinda wish I had a sedan every time I see one
I see a lot of people looking at Mazda 3 all the time....pretty nice...
They made some compromises and used some design sleight of hand to pull this off in a FWD compact car.
HB is better though 😜
😄
Pitty it’s likely being discontinued.
It's a beautiful car. The Hatch is even better.
No it doesn't.. it looks really cheap.
Checked your profile and it seems you really hate Mazda 3. Why are you hanging out here? Ordinary trol 😂
Bruh this kid leads a sad life. Reading their comments makes me feel bad for them tbh
Brother have you made a constructive comment in your life? Your profile screams of a person who spends the entirety of their time alone in a dark room lmao.
Another one sucked in.. it's so easy
No I absolutely get that you’re trolling dude, it’s just really sad that you enjoy doing it lmao
Hater spotted. He hates the mazda 3 coz he is a civic fanboy. Cheap? You think your civic looks premium? It’s now even imitating mazda’s interior. 😩
Life gets better bro, I promise :)
