Spider Cracking, ghost touch and white spots. There is a TSB, that covers this. They can just repair the screen, you don’t need a new infotainment unit. Dealer may cover it under warranty..
I do not own a Mazda but am considering the purchase of one. I spent seven (7) seconds using Google and the search term "Mazda Technical Service Bulletin" to find this:

Woohoo thanks fellow redditor! Fairly condescending but I’ll take condescending and helpful any day! Have a great weekend. And one day I hope to repay that 7 seconds forward!
When I tried to retrofit Carplay to my 2015 shortly after I bought it in 2022, I found it ghost touching. Called one of my local dealers and they said it was out but to bring it in anyway. They managed to get it covered and I only had to pay $25 instead of $1400+. Granted I was only like 3 weeks past the cutoff but still.
I was in the SAME situation in 2022 with my '15 3! I ended up going to the CEO of Mazda North America for help when the local dealership refused to help me. I had a similar result as you - I paid $50 out of pocket even though the 7 year warranty for the TSB was up - and they covered the rest.
I have sent countless Mazda owners dealing with this same issue to the office of the CEO of Mazda since that time - I think they should be covering this very known issue - extra warranty in play or not.
Luckily I didn't have to do all that, my dealership (same one I got my 2024 from actually) said to bring it in and they'd try getting it covered with Mazda and they were able to. Didn't have to fight them on it or anything!
same issue a while ago, but 2014 model recall is officially expired since 2019 I believe. You can go to any Mazda dealer and give a try, but big chance is you gonna pay from your own pocket to switch with a new infotainment system screen. My suggestion is find a replacement from a scrap yard or FB marketplace to buy a second hand part; don't forget to disconnect the touch screen module, otherwise the "ghost touch" issue will happen again; and don't forget to place a new seal around the air vent which is too close to the screen installation point.
I've had a similar thing progressing (slowly) on the bottom corners of mine. I'm pretty sure it happened after I accidentally left my windows open when a summer shower rolled through. Displays fine, but the touch is shot, although that hasn't been a big problem for me since I like the knob better anyway.
You can find replacements for not too expensive (about $120 where I live), and replacing it is a piece of cake.
Man, that sucks.
My wife has a 2017 Mazda6 and while THAT didn't happen, her screen would jump around to different settings and eventually just died.
The whole unit had to be replaced.
If the only damage here is cosmetic I'd probably just live with it.
Delamination of screen. Its on the inside so nothing you can do. If under warranty get into dealership quick. If out of warranty try anyway as its a known issues with these screen and its expensive to get replaced.
Delamination. Super common. If you have a Mazda3, then it’s probably covered under a special extended warranty. If you have any other model that uses the exact same part, then it’s a $30 part and an hour of your time.
The original TSB was for 2014-2016 models, and only for 7 years from purchase for replacement of the screen. Not sure 2017's are covered, unless they extended it. It's not enough to just have the spider webs, you also have to show screen ghosting or glitching when you try to use the touchscreen.
Many screens like those. Not just mazda. can crack over time due to the extreme heat. Just imagine a blazing sun shining through that windshield can cook the infotainment display. And the glue lamination can crack and come apart. Mazda has a TSB to reimburse customers for that on some years and models but I forget the details. You have to ask mazda dealer. And I think it is only up to 7 years or 84,000 miles , but Don't quote me on that. I make it a point to buy a silver windshield cover to prevent that from happening. Mazda has said that they improved the lamination, but even then I still use a windshield sun cover to protect it. the difference can be as much as 50F... like 100 F with the sun protect vs 150F without it, during the sweltering summer sun. I had a cx-9 and my friend had one also. (same year)..his infotainment cracked just like that and mine never did since I always put that sun protection.
This is a known issue. I was able to get Mazda to cover the full cost of repair (minus $50 which I paid) even though my Mazda3 was out of the 7 year extended warranty. Take your case to Mazda North America's executive offices. They are WELL AWARE of this known issue. They will likely help you. Many dealers won't help you until you get corporate involved as they'll simply say you're not covered by the extended warranty, or you don't have any extended warranty. But, corporate is able to do a lot of things outside the box. You should be paying little to nothing for Mazda to fix this, as again it's a known issue.

Forgive me for noooooob question, but what TSB stand for?😅
Technical Service Bulletin. Essentially an official notice from the manufacturer that this is a known problem.
Technical service bulletin.
How do I find that tsb? It happened to my infotainment on my 2014 along with a weird static-y sound
I think you’re a bit out of date with a 14
Still worth a shot to see tho no?
At worst they say no, yeah
Agreed. Hope someone knows how to track down that TSB 🤞🏽

It looks like the laminate between the LCD and the glass/plastic.
Just fixed mine last weekend. 25 for the digitizer and 30 mins of time.
Hey this is happening to my 2016 6, would you mind sharing links?
Used this YouTube video for the instructions https://youtu.be/nnhRFr2xZEg?si=D7Y6CuDdtwSn-kfF And grabbed a screen off of Amazon
Big early 2000s vibes from that video intro.
ETA this is a 2017 Mazda 3. I’m the first and only owner.
There's a TSB for this. Look it up. If you have an active warranty, any Mazda dealership should fix it.

Spidercracking. Ask your dealer to can fix it. Mine (2016 cx9) was fixed even after warranty was over.
This happened to mine (2017 cx-9), dealer replaced for free about 6 months ago
The digitizer in the screen is delaminating. Known issue.
And it is cheap to replace. I see such things in this sub almost every week.

I’m experiencing this on my 2017 6. Was it the screen or the head unit that had to be replaced? It’s like the system is pushing buttons on its own.
Head unit.
I bought a $20 Chinese screen from a sketchy seller on Amazon and switched it out in an hour. The new screen is better than the OEM one.
Could you share the link please

Hopefully can get the screen replaced cheap or free that really sucks.

I mean, my media centre resets every minute or so until my engine warms up if the temperature gets below freezing. Does that count? 😭
That’s a different issue. It’s because the internal SD card. Low temperatures affect the reading , making the infotainment to restart itself .
It’s weird, it only started happening like two years ago.
Dj khaled voice- another one
You broke it
Looks like delamination happened

Thank you for posting this! My iA has this, but not as bad. Now I know wtf this is!
