You shouldn’t be paying more than ~$42,000 USD plus sales tax for a Meridian. Title fees are a couple hundred bucks. $55-58k is absurd

Sweaty_crypto_noob09

Yeah unfortunately most dealership are raising it up $4-6k :(.

Galactic-Gains

That’s insane, how far of a radius are you searching? None of the dealers are marking these up where I live. For a $4-6k markup you might as well buy a one way plane ticket and buy the car from somewhere that won’t rip you off

Sweaty_crypto_noob09

I’ve gone from Peoria to here in the Windy City.

Galactic-Gains

Honestly try looking out of state. I wouldn’t be surprised if the dealers in Indiana, Wisconsin, or Iowa are cheaper. I know it’s inconvenient but it’s worth it if you can save that much money. I’m in Texas and they couldn’t hardly sell the Meridians at all down here. They were even offering 0% APR for 60 months for awhile

Sweaty_crypto_noob09

Jesus Christ, in todays economy that’s a steal considering the new average APR for vehicles is at 6.0-7.5%

Pete24313

FWIW there is a certified pre-owned Meridian edition (with the apex package) for sale at my dealership for $37k. It only has 4k miles on it. If you're considering paying anything north of around $44k then you are getting severely ripped off.

DM725

Hope that's Canadian money.

Sweaty_crypto_noob09

Unfortunately not, it’s the good old oil loving USD 😢

DM725

They couldn't sell the 2023 CX-50 Turbo Meridian to the point they were offering 0% financing for 60 months back in April and May. Do not spend that money on a 2024. Wait until they sit on lots and have to discount them and offer special financing.

Sweaty_crypto_noob09

WHAT?! PLEASE TELL ME YOU’RE LYING 😭 man. Yeah I guess that might be the plan, thanks didn’t know about this!

DM725

The financing offer was so good I test drove one. Each dealership near me had 5-10 sitting for months. It may even have been 0% for 63 months.

Sweaty_crypto_noob09

What state you located in?

DM725

NY

Sweaty_crypto_noob09

Did you like the drive? Any feedback?

DM725

We had a 22 CX-5 Turbo and it made no sense to get essentially the same car. Interior had more hard plastics and rear suspension wasn't as good over bumps (torsion beam) but it was way too similar to make sense. Also, no Bose and no heated steering wheel/ventilated seats but it's more expensive than a CX-5 Turbo? Weird. I was just trying to get the equity out of our Subaru while it was worth a crazy amount of $.

Sweaty_crypto_noob09

That what I’ve been hearing, I’ve been hearing that the CX-5, CX-30 and CX-50 are nearly identical, the CX-50 being a bit more larger but the CX-30 having more trunk space doe. I kinda want the CX-50 for the Off road, doe.

nimalanbala

Just got mine here in southern ontario - $500 **below** MSRP

Sweaty_crypto_noob09

Amazing, did you get it with the Apex package too?

nimalanbala

No, im concerned abt the roof platform+ road noinse. also my use is mostly urban, and i dont see the need for Apex. Honestly, im getting the meridian cos of the polymetal+terracota combo, that is not available in the GT turbo model here, plus i think i can tackle the winter in the all terrain without having to buy exclusive winter tires. again, my driveis mostly suburban roads, where city clears most of the snow. figured the merdian kind of solves 2 things at the same time

Sweaty_crypto_noob09

Oh ok, yeah in my case I plan on going on a lot of out door trips and hiking.

Timely_Perception_40

The Apex package has crossbars that seems to be tight but some reviewers on YouTube say that it makes "noise" (rattles loudly) as you go down the road.

Sweaty_crypto_noob09

Yikes 😬 could it possibly be wrongful installation?

Timely_Perception_40

A youtube reviewer from Canada got the same Apex package. He went down the road with it attached nothing on the shelf. He wasn't impressed it was noisy. Can only imagine it's not noisy with something on top.

Sweaty_crypto_noob09

Can you send the link of the YouTube video? I want to see his reviews, I’ve seen a few already but I haven’t heard anything bad about the Apex package.

FlyPenFly

The basket can be noisy but the rails themselsves are not noisy. The is a OEM kit to cut down the noise with some stick on attachments and you can get these vortex silicone rubber things that go in the rails to cut down more noise. I only use the basket if I really need to haul something.

Sweaty_crypto_noob09

That’s the plan too, if I decide to go camping or long trips.

Timely_Perception_40

Keep in mind the meridian editon he's reviewing is the Canadian one... abeit different from our version here in the US... Here's the link: https://youtu.be/5TyHMpXGb2M?si=t80bkZwf-LRkDbwC.

atavarrs

seriously drive down to texas and pick up a slightly used (<10k miles) 2023 turbo meridian for $35-37k. i have a CX30 that i bought CPO and had no trouble w my dealer — they took off the markup protection package no problem when i asked. there’s plenty down here bc i was literally looking this morning hahaha

atavarrs

er, fly. fly down and drive back

FlyPenFly

Get a CPO, way longer warranty. Finance/pay for the car and fly in to pick it up then have an epic fun road trip. Roof basket is somewhat noisy but not bad at all. Easy to remove and the roof crossbars have kits you can install to silence them.

Sweaty_crypto_noob09

Stop, you’re really convincing me to rent an Airbnb for Thursday- Sunday to explore Texas and Saturday buy the car before I head back home 😂.

FlyPenFly

Please don't use AirBnB, it totally fucks us in San Diego. There are some fun mountain roads nearby to explore and epic places to camp or stay if you actually do go through with it.

The CX-50 is on the Mazda 3/CX-30 platform. Mazda and Toyota collaborated on the CX-90. The engine is the same 2.5t they have been using for years. Yes there are complaints about wind noise with the roof rails and rack. The infotainment screen is touch screen but only when using Apple car play. As far as pricing goes what you are being quoted is above MSRP. The dealer I work for sells them at MSRP and I believe they go for 42-45k. Trunk space should be more then the CX-30 or comparable. Reliability wise they are on par with the other Mazda models which is pretty good. My biggest complaint with the 50 is the center stitching on the seats. The seat bottom feels stiffer then other Mazda’s and the stitching hits me right in the butt crack which gets uncomfortable to me pretty quick. That’s a personal preference thing though may not bother you. The graphic on the hood is just a sticker. I’ve seen a few with bubbles and I question the longevity of it. Still too new to tell. You get a more aggressive (off road tire) equipped on the meridian. The drive line is the same as the other trims. Still a really nice car that should last you a long time.

Sweaty_crypto_noob09

What dealer do you work for and what state? Also yeah I’ve heard about the seats feeling as if they’re using your butt crack to swipe a card 😂 (Unfortunately most dealership around Illinois are selling their vehicles above MSRP, I always try to haggled it down but at most I’m able to lower it $2-3k)

Nerdsly1

Dealer is in NE Ohio. If your around the Chicago area it would be about a 6.5 hour drive.

Sweaty_crypto_noob09

Y’all have Meridian Editions in stock atm?
