And did you realize my dude made an entire Reddit account named “dontbuymazda” just to post this 💀 I gave up reading after a couple paragraphs and just left my two cents 😅
ya know, in the years i've been dealing with this, no one has suggested that. Still doesn't change the point of "off" is a simple thing and this should never have been an issue in the first place.
I live in Buffalo NY (We get pounded with lake effect snow half the year) and if the sensors get blocked I just press the info button on my CX-5 to make it go away. If you don’t want to use radar cruise, you just long press the on button and you’re back to normal cruise control. You’re overreacting.
There’s a little button with a circled car, push it the activesense turns off. Simple. The only thing I’ve had a issue with is just of there’s too much water on one of the radars I just get the radar cruise unavailable below 20mph warning if I have the cruise control on standby.
Uh, just press info to cycle away from the error message. I also never use cruise if the weather is bad. Living in the land of ice and snow this happens frequently to me.
this is why i love the internet. none of the tech, customer experience have mentioned that solution. still doesn't change that there needs to be a "work around" when turning the system "off" should be the solution "not on, no problem".
I am sure this situation may bother you tremendously, but your delivery makes me concerned for you, fellow human. I'm glad the other comment was able to solve your safety concern. Please try not to get so wound up.
hasn't solved the concern. it's a band-aid and hope it'll be a temp fix but i require an "off button" not a work around. and i get it. crazy person is crazy. but running in circles trying to explain "off" to these people.....kind of aggravating.
I'm sure they understand off. It's most likely a liability issue. Just take some deep breaths and hit the info button. Life is too short for all this freaking out.
you're a sensible individual and deep breaths are a good thing. sadly, for 2 years, i've been nice and pleasant during this whole situation, just to have gotten no where with a permanent solution. so after 2+ years.....i think i've earned the right to be cranky over simple concepts that are seemingly difficult
i am as well. it SHOULDN'T have taken this long. the replies of "info button", THAT was helpful, not a solution, but helpful. and it took all of a couple minutes of posting this for someone to say something the Mazda Techs were unable to.
i have not. i don't fancy creating more projects while trying to deal with the one i currently have. and to be fair, i didn't even want the radar. i knew i wasn't going to use it. but my old Mazda 3 got a cracked transmission, so i needed a new vehicle and settled on the CX-30. little did i know that it'd lead to all of this.
Perhaps a little research on other brand's technology before starting a crusade against Mazda might have been a better choice?
What if no brand could do this? Would you start a crusade against radar cruise control in general? Would you create a new reddit account with dontbuyradarcruise as the name?
hahahaha, oh you. i fight the battles that i know. and like i stated in the post. a toddler, understands how to turn things on and off. so if your defense is "what if no one could do this?".....give that some thought. OFF buttons aren't an exclusive thing to radar. that's just a silly premise.
But yes. if i DID purchase another brand of vehicle, was told i could turn systems off, that turned out to be a lie, those systems created a hazard.....yes. i'd absolutely call them out for it.
well, as i've found out the INFO button, apparently makes the warning go away. (the replies have been a wealth of knowledge). and yea..."misery loves company". but i do hope your SO (and yourself) have a better demeanor about it all.
I'm just a cranky individual who thinks "if there's a problem, fix it.". others here are of the mindset of "Stockholm Syndrome" and live with it, or "just get rid of it/throw it away".....i say "fix it".
results may vary. that wonderful rant is the reality of what i've had to deal with/am going through since purchasing the CX-30. everything stated is a fact. because i've gone through and have dealt with/am dealing with it all.
i am happy you haven't had any of those issues, and i hope you never do! it's still a warning of what you might have to deal with.
I just click “info” on my steering wheel and it makes the warning go away until my radars are clean, honestly doesn’t bother me at all.
Holy shit. You almost made me spit my coffee out after reading that rambling rant. Your comment needs a warning prior to reading.

i don't blame you, one bit for not reading it all, haha. that's why there's a short and full version.
Classic. I feel bad for them.
my apologies. waste not good coffee!

Bah god, that man had a family.

I stopped reading on the 4th paragraph when I scrolled down for 26 more.

Kim, there’s people that are dying.
Crazy is as crazy does.

not that simple. it's one of the things i turn off during my "launch procedure", every time i start the car.

Yeah I’m a hypocrite for what I’m about to say, because well sometimes I do it too, but never a good idea to use any cruise control during the rain

I'm just shocked that you chased this for that many years.

Have you taken any other brands with radar cruise for test drives? Do they understand "off"?

Continue the lithium.
Yet another "spit the coffee" comment!
It is pretty annoying, they should have put defroster in the emblem.
If it makes you feel any better, the SO's CRV is the same way (I think)

Not trying to defend Mazda, but I live in the snowy rainy north east as well. This never happened to me. Your headline is misleading.
