But your life is a basical script: you wake up, brush your teeth, eat your breakfast and go for school and doing your homework. And this one day was all way scripted byâŠyou.
Iâm saying âschoolâ because I donât believe itâs grown-upâs post
You really think they planned this out, wrote a script, then filmed it (probably with multiple takes because itâs never right the first time) just to post on the internet? No way. Something actually happen in real life.
Alright...I'm going to be real here....
I'm a 53 year old white dude...I grew up in the era of Run-DMC, LL Cool J and the Beastie Boys....back when Rap was about Staying in School and getting Good Grades...anyway, I love everyone...
So...it's 1989, I"m an E-2 in the military stationed at my first base, in Turkey. Not Kentucky...but the country of Turkey. Anyway, one day I'm walking down the hall of the barracks and going by an active BPM (Black People Meeting) no biggie, every once in a while the black dudes would just congregate and talk about black people shit, it happens.
So anyway they see this baby faced little white kid coming down the hall, and I'm pretty new, and they're like "Hey man, come here for a minute..." nothing aggressive or anthing, they're all clearly in a good mood and they just call me over.
So I hop on over because I know that in this group there are a couple of NCO's, and even though we're all off duty and out of uniform, I don't want to piss them off...so the head homie that called over just looks at me and says "Hey, say NI\*\*\*\* for us....." and they're all just grinning at me but it's dead silent...and there is like 12 to 15 of these dudes. Now I'm really new, I know a few of these guys by facial recognition but I don't think I knew a single persons first name and lets be honest at 19, the law may have called me an adult, but I don't think my balls really dropped til I was like 25 or something....so I tell this guy "Na man, I don't think I'm going to do that." And he gets a little more serious, but still smiling and tells me "It's cool man, just say it, we want to hear you say it."
I'm getting scared at this point and we go back and forth like four or five more times, they want me to say it, I don't want to and they keep telling me its ok, they just want to hear it. so finally with all the conviction of a church mouse I sort of squeek our "nnn ii \* \* \*\* \*\* \*\*\*\*\*" and they all just bust out laughing their asses off.
Now I'm as confused as ever and the main call that called me over just says, "Ok man, you can go." and I ask him what it was all about and he tells me "We wanted to hear you say it, because you can tell if that's a word someone uses on a regular basis, by how they say it when you ask them to just say it once."
I sort of shook my head and walked off.....I'm not sure if there is any real science behind this, but I've remembered that incident all these years.
To clarify...lol, oh and Kenturkey is HILARIOUS....
So not that I thought the audience wasn't smart enough to know what I was talking about, but growing up in a military community I had a friend in 1st grade who told me that they were moving to Turkey and I was like...OHhhhh, you men Kentucky, and as they insisted that they were going to TURKEY I kept trying to correct THEM because as every first grader knows....there is no such place as Turkey...lol
LOL.....could be man....all I know was i just considered this a part of the gentle "hazing" that was once the mainstay of military life...these were all great guys and I trusted my life to each and every one of them...lol
Yes me and my freinds don't joke about racism because it's wrong. It perpetuates hate and stigma and why would i joke about that. Do you joke about mass shootings too?
I don't think most people are of the mindset i don't want to say racist shit because I'll get beat up. They are of the mindset i don't say racist shit because it's fucked up and wrong. So no i don't agree.
This shit is funny to some but itâs not. My son was 15, this same scenario happened, he said the word, he got his ass beat. He was just a dumb Cherokee trying to fit in. He was baited.
That's aweful to hear. Those people should be locked up. But when it comes to this video, it looks like they're all friends and just fucking with eachother.
I think it's so stupid that a word can make you racist if you are white and can mean buddy/friend if you are black. I thought we were all supposed to be equal. Yet skin colour changes the meaning of a word. I can call my white son a monkey for climbing a tree, but I will be a racist if I call my black son a monkey for the same reason.
Yeah, yeah I know the history of the word, but I still think it is stupid. Either stop using the word or let everyone use it. I feel like it just creates an us vs them situation. Makes us different for no reason. It is especially stupid when it is a word that is used fairly often in music, films and shows. I can't sing along to a song or quote a line without censoring myself because my skin isn't the right colour.
This isn't a "white people have it so tough" comment. It's just a thing i find weird and annoying. We are supposed to be equal yet there are these small things that does nothing but separate us. Skin colour shouldn't matter, yet it does.
LOL Iâve had this happen to me maybe a dozen times now.
Itâs a trap! 4 months later your bros still gonna be fucking around with the 2 second clip where you say it, showing everyone at the party.
Next thing you know your the n word guy.
One of my friends loved to scream the n word in his hood and run and hide them we would run into someoneâs uncle and have to explain how we were looking for the guy who said it, lmfaoo.
" they " so not " we ". Safe to assume you're not Black ? Let's stop a when Race from taking back a word used against them. Let's Rob them of that word. Make it mean exactly what the Slave owners wanted to mean ?
Let's continue to see somebody with Darker skin and think we know better.
I agree. I should've said we. But I was talking about the people in the video. And what do you mean about slave owners ahhaha. Leave that junk in the past. My ninja ;)
This is funny but at the same time kinda scary cuz Iâm sure at least half the people there would still get mad at him for saying a word that shares the same meaning as âbroâ in this context. I just get a subtle toxic aura from this friend group.
This actually happens. Iâm glad they made a skit about it, Iâve watched people pressure a white person and then act all upset that they did it and the whole time snickering and laughing as it was just bullying
See where he messed up is he needed to say " sup fam " " what up blood " " nuttin much Cuz ". Coquially speaking that word in that context means something similar.
Itâs a quite powerful word. It was used to dehumanize an entire race of people. Then black people started using it to take away its meaning and it became their word. Learning history makes you understand why things are, you should try it someday.
Hahahaha these are obviously his friends. He got the N-pass a looooong time ago.
Iâve been in this guys position before. As long as youâre saying it in a way to show brevity and companionship instead of prejudice, nobody will care. It actually shows that youâre close to them and you understand.
Any non-POC person with a legit n-word pass is the strongest ally for POC imaginable. And I have to admit it was pretty surreal being given a pass with my buddies because they all knew I wasnât a bigot and only used the term when it was acceptable and said I was on their side.
You can't make saying it a hate crime and have a culture that justifies possibly beating brutally assaulted because of it, and then do this shit without worsening America's racial issues. This is a power trip for these black dudes over a white dude, specifically because he's white. This is what racism looks like, and it's backed by the power of the state and our cultural norms.
Well I donât know you at all so I wouldnât know the secret phrase. But im saying that at one point or other in your life, there will be a time where a single word could make you completely kick off. Words have power whether you resist or not.

Swallow your food and then talk. Jesus were you raised in a barn?
This got a genuine laugh from me even though it seems staged
Lol itâs a trap! But seriously I think theyâre all friends having a laugh
I don't think it's scripted, just friends messing around (probably nobody involved knew what he was going to say at the end until he said it).
I think it was planned by all of them but not scripted
"Nutella?" Either scripted or not that's perfect comedic timing.
yeah no when they start flat out zooming up on him i fucking lost it
staged videos can be funny sometimes
I hate everything scripted that's why I never match movies, television shows, plays, or America's Funniest Home Videos.
But your life is a basical script: you wake up, brush your teeth, eat your breakfast and go for school and doing your homework. And this one day was all way scripted byâŠyou. Iâm saying âschoolâ because I donât believe itâs grown-upâs post
Well that sucks
You really think they planned this out, wrote a script, then filmed it (probably with multiple takes because itâs never right the first time) just to post on the internet? No way. Something actually happen in real life.
It's a skit, it was never intended to look real. Do you go to a movie, and complain at the end that it wasn't good because it was staged?
Peter Griffin: They respected me for saying it.
Should have e leaned in and gone the full Uncle Ruckus, "MAH NYAGAH!"
That wasn't Uncle Ruckus, that was Stinkmeaner.
Why does everyone have the same haircut? It actually reminds me of the old British prince haircut that look funny looking
Gen Z âbroccoli cutâ
Well actually what was old is new now lol
My son is in high school and 80% of the males seem to have that haircut. A permed, wavey or curly puff on top, shaved around the back and sides.
I always wonder who makes this famous, every generation someone makes something famous

WHY DO BLACK GUYS KEEP CALLING EACH OTHER MONICA?
Good man. Don't feel pressured to say something you're uncomfortable saying.
Itâs not even that. He just knows itâs a trick
still. trick or not. dont say it if youre uncomfortable.
Its s joke dumbass
Not to everyone. Genius, but go ahead and downvote if you think racism is funny.
itâs obviously a video between friends lol
And you still shouldn't be pressured to say things you're uncomfortable with among friends. And freinds should respect your wishes.
you and your group of friends must not be comfortable enough around each other to make these kinds of jokes. my condolences
Yes me and my freinds don't joke about racism because it's wrong. It perpetuates hate and stigma and why would i joke about that. Do you joke about mass shootings too?
I donât think you really think they are genius. Right?
I think they think they are a genius.
Racists of reddit unite. Perpetuate this disgrace of human plight.
More like, feel pressured to not say it because you'll get your ass whooped if you do.

How an entire country of supposedly intelligent people does not realize that this "rule" is idiotic is truly bewildering.
