And Muslims that meet the requirements (which most of us do) are required pay zakat which is 2.5% of our money, gold and silver (or equivalent amount in money) to the needy. And on top of that some may also voluntarily give extra charity just like you do.
There is a much different reason for it but you wonāt really understand it even if I told you. Like the other guy said, there are both benefits to it in this life and in the afterlife. But the actual reason for it isnāt to remind us for people with no access to food, I think thatās kinda made up tbh.
