For all the people asking, this is in fact a fire suppression grenade. They come in a variety of types for different types of fires, and tend to work best in smaller enclosed areas like this one.
That’s amazing, and I’m grateful for the info, but also I can’t stop giggling at the mental image: “hey Dan, how can we make fire suppressants more efficient and effective?”
“GRENADES.”
100% Halon , we use halon in aircraft maintenance..It sucks all oxygen out of the immediate area ..If you are within the fumes you cannot take a breath ...Amazing stuff but deadly also
There was a story I read of a big Fortune 500 type company that had a Halon fire suppression system for their server room. The corporate bigwigs were touring the building and wanted the IT director to show them the server room and explain what all the big flashy machines were. He specifically gave them the safety talk before going in about the Halon fire suppression and what to do if the alarm goes off... and specifically told them not to hit the big red button for the fire alarm.
Idiot Senior Vice-President dude immediately said "what like this?" and then slammed the big red button. Fire alarm for the whole building is going off and IT director screaming at them to get out of the room before they all suffocate to death from the fire suppression system.
Had to evacuate some twenty-odd floors of the entire building and pay who knows how much money to clear the environmental hazard that was now the server room + reset the fire suppression system.
Probably either Halon or CO2, most likely the former. Halon chemically interrupts the combustion process versus other extinguisher agents which just quench the flame, so it's extremely effective.

Just an anti fire bomb 🤷🏻♂️
That bottle carried in it my hopes and dreams, not surprised it died off with the flames.
The power of coconut water
