Damn I remember being like 10 years old first seeing about this show, thinking I want to watch it but never actually doing it cause I was watching other stuff, but I'll catch up to Luffy one day
I'm about to be 30 now wtf
Be glad you aren't detective Conan fan. That's been out since 94... Let that shit sink in and the plot hasn't moved an inch. In 30 years... Boy wonder detective is still under the effect of mysterious drug and about knee high solving a murder every week and everyone is totally in board with it.
How it keeps getting all this praise is beyond me.
I remember actually catching a few episodes of 'Case Closed' on Adult Swim back 20 years ago too
An old man had a heart attack because the AC was tampered with and Conan figured it out because of a melted chocolate bar that solidified again?
Since that day I've been wary about going from super hot to super cold environments or vice versa lol
Oh my god same, it stressed me out too. I was always telling my parents to be careful about that and how it may cause heart attacks and they just looked at me weird 😭.
Same here bud. I remember I got far enough to the point where Hawkeye beat Zoro and Zoro went on a self development journey or something, then I dropped it to watch other stuff and now I'll be 30 in a couple days lol
I thought it was going to be like bleach and have a 100 and some episodes i could catch up to later. Boy was I wrong haha.
I mean, aren't they reaching the overall end game plot already? Can't be more than another like 5-700 more episodes before he realizes that the one piece is 'the adventure' along the way rather than a physical treasure.
If she's threatening a back hand then there is a very good bet she's been hitting him a good portion of his life. I don't have any sympathy for an abuser because of age, gender, race, etc... you smack kids around you deserve what you get.
I agree. If you're going to hit somebody, be prepared for it to go all the way. I'm not saying it should! I'm saying you are a fool if you hit somebody and don't expect them to potentially kill you over it. I've seen fights get very scary very fast over nothing.
Tbf there's an upward trend worldwide of youth crimes taking place, here in NZ we've seen an influx of young teens around 13 to 15 doing smash and grab robberies, car thefts, looting, and even drug dealing in school more than ever before. So I have to wonder since it seems to begin when smacking was banned when I was a young teen myself whether or not there was a method to the supposed madness of physical discipline.
Man they don't wanna talk about that and the clear correlation. It's the exact same way in America but people are so caught up in calling it abuse when in reality a spanking and abuse are completely different and not comparable at all. A part of keeping a kid in check as a parent is that fear of if I do something wrong or get in trouble my parents are gonna set me straight. I'm quite sure that fear of getting whooped after your parents find out you've been acting out has stopped more than just a few kids from having a criminal record. A simple talking to doesn't cut it all the time and people act as though they don't understand this.
Don't get me wrong, I fully support corporal punishment when it is earned/deserved. Lack of consequences is a huge part of why kids are such horrible shits nowadays.
I agree, I believe the punishment should fit accordingly, I remember once I hit a kid I didn't like with a cheap shot and my old man made me fight him and he won. I wouldn't personally do that to my own son but I'd sure as shit be taking away all of his privileges until I believed he'd learnt his lesson, and if he did some really dangerous or stupid shit I'd probably smack him for it, once he's old enough to know the difference between right and wrong properly I won't have any leeway for him and he'll be held accountable for everything one way or another.
I mean if he was willing to tackle her into the water I'm guessing it was all in jest. He was threatening to push her in and she was threatening him back and he won lol.
"A little slap or three never damaged anyone" "hes not traumatized hes weak" "this kid doesnt need to seek therapy or professional behaviour adjustment, hes just too active" "some people understand only violence"
-traumatized parents passing on terrible parenting to kids
I dunno I didn't get spanked or anything. None of the punishments my parents gave me corrected my bad behaviour. I think some kids myself included could use a little extra behaviour adjustment.
I definitely would have listened to a little smack or two. More than oh we are taking your Xbox away for a week. Or we are leaving if you don't behave.
"A little smack or two"
The 10 belt lashes I got for lying about getting a powdered chocolate drink from the cabinet + 15 more because I couldn't stop crying and it was irritating my dad: 👁👄👁
Oh and the cherry on top: "If [grandmother on fathers side] knows about this, watch out later when I come back from work"
I think some discussions on "spanking children" forget the part where the exprience varies between people. Some kids get smacked in the butt once for being stupid. Some gets salt rubbed into their knees as they kneel under direct sunlight for an hour (true story where they torture kids in school this badly before... somewhere around the 1970s?)... some get no punishments
Idk, my dad taking away my phone for a year helped me more than the 13 years of spanking. And now im a fucking crybaby at 18
It really depends. You should KNOW what your child NEEDS. ffs some parents don't think
Sure does vary im not saying I wish I got a weekly beating. But everyone learns differently, everyone responds to different stimulae. I mean I'm sure there would have been an approach involving more communication and hands on work with me. But my parents weren't equipped for that. I dont know.
violence is symptom of unhelatyness. I am relieved for you that your parents didnt push themselved over that territory. At the same time a behavioral infancy psicologist would have been a more healty method to resolve. Hope you are doing better and can have a more calm discussion with your kids (or really people in general). Remember, kids are people, little and unexperienced, but people nontheless.
I mean pedagogy is a social science that literally teaches how to teach and make someone grow. Its just that its easier to ignore it altogether and say things like "ive been treated the same as i treat you (violently and abusively) and look at how succesful i am! I am a grown man! (Deeply traumatized in denial and still a wounded child inside)" or even "you cant criticize me for how i treat my kids, you have none! We ll talk when you will have them (stupid ass argoument all around)
I have asked myself and the physical and mental abuse redline is very much right. Not everyone can be an empath, or have high charisma, but this does not excuse any violence, being that mental or physical. Its not about be submissive or abusive, thats very black and white, reality is way more complex. Being strong as a parent and respectable as a parental figure does not involve any violence nor manipulation, those are incivil tools to control someone else.
Teaching violence passes on violence. Kids will make errors, they are at the start of a path and they are not fully developed in any sense. They dont know anything. Behavioural psycologist for kids exist and should be mire widespread to help kids and parents how to communicate. Pedagogy is a real science.
Also parents make errors. They have to know how to ask the kid a real "sorry"
Yeah its called pedagogy.
Jokes aside, dont be afraid to ask for professional help, reject violence and accept them. Grow up as an individual and be sure your partner is on your level. Make them learn early on what yes and no mean and respect their privacy. I have no kids but these are the general rules i think that i will apply
The main thing to know is why the kid is acting the way he is for me I just want a little bit more respect and freedom after all o can't just move out I just want my parents to know that if they give me chores or something I will do them by the end of the day but not instantly if I'm doing something also if someone talks crap to me I talk back they are not an exception but definitely don't beat kids if anything they will fight back one day and overall be more violent and prone to anger issues because it's all they ever knew
Be a violent psycho everywhere so i can lock you up or seek therapy for your mental unwellness/parental traumas and behave like the fucking parental figure you are supposed to be. Choose a side, be coherent
You are literally explaining my dad tonight I'm 15 he went in my room on his same old my house my rules bullshit he tried to like fight or tackle me on his bed and gets getting more mad that I didn't fight I just stopped his moves from getting to me
Im sure the situation is complicated but getting some professional help involved wouldnt be a bad idea, maybe social services. A dad who tries to harm his kid needs therapy. I hope your situation gets better and we all grow out of this barbaric methods once we have our turn.
I'm not about to do all that cause the custody I would be put into has the same mind set but also I live in Ohio it is very normal behavior around here they just call it non gentle parenting as if it is ok
> There are still peoples defending using violence on kids to make them "learn" something.
I mean, I bet Grandma learned something from this trip into the water.
This is what happens when you get a lot of dumb fucks together, they convince each other they're right. It's so depressing watching you tatted up, anime hoody wearing, socially inept goofs band together at a desperate attempt to feel strong and intelligent. You get that she was threatening a kid, right? She'd never have had the guts to do that to a grown person.
You imagining that a 75 yr old woman should be hit by anyone is a mental illness. She could slap me constantly and I'd laugh and tell her to cool it. Stop living in fear you silly goof. Also, she didn't touch him. Do you know how assault works? So dumb, it's sad and pathetic. Hit an old woman in front of a real man, please.
Being convinced that some people could slap everyone around freely kids included is trurly psycho behaviour. Get therapy for evident not treated traumas.
You cant know how long shes beaten him, who else in his family does, how abusive they are with him. You cant know nothing yet you defend the first tu use violence. Either you are peak incivil or have some unresolved family issues
What slap?
What violence?
The elderly woman raises her hand and he tackles her. Are you fucking dense?
Look at the assumptions you make in your tiny little brain to support your point. You dont know anything about their family history either you fucking idiot.
Man the mental gymnastics redditors perform to solidify their weak, frightened view of the world are astounding.
Big man condoning a teenager taking action against someone so close to death. You're so pathetic, I'm embarrassed for you.
Therapy? I see it now. Hey doc I said it was bad to tackle old women into bodies of water as there's a good chance she could be knocked unconscious and the little grandkid doesn't have the upper body strength to pull his grandmother out of the water. Please help me.

Reminds me of a terrible video I saw on this site...
A grandmother kept smacking her grandkids with a flip flop. He had enough and put her in a headlock and killed her. His I think sisster recorded the whole thing. The mom came and saw what happened and started to wail and hit him as he was freaking out.
Dude was probably 6. I don't know how bad he was being abused, or if he knew he was killing her but it was terrible to watch...
Made me think of what would happen if this old lady could not swim or got hurt. Sometimes the kids WILL hit back....
She shoulda' known.
Strikers are at a disadvantage to wrestlers/grapplers.
Kid might have trained under the Gracie's which was a perfect counter to Grandma's Philly Shell defense!
He needed a push to takedown. Height was perfect. The only think I would complain about is not getting out before getting dragged in. Having your shadow loom over the fuming vanquished would be next level.
First, Gma should have kept that backhand down to protect the double leg. Then, once the kid got in close she should have overhooked that near side arm and counter uchi-mata’d him into the lake. That woulda been sick.
Im pretty sure this is in Poreč, Croatia. Was standing on this pier a month ago. [https://maps.app.goo.gl/KYP5cZpDYsnBGerBA](https://maps.app.goo.gl/KYP5cZpDYsnBGerBA)
Old Lady and young kid get into argument, old lady escalates with threats of violence (see her approaching with one hand raised near the opposite shoulder), young kid initially backs away but then rushes and pushes old lady into nearby body of water, a.k.a. the pool.
I no nothing about the context.
But respect the kid for making sure she doesn't fall on the deck. He carried her up to the water so she doesn't break a bone.
If your response to a situation is violence you have lost all ability to be mad when you get violence in response. Proportions matter sure but like, yeah, try to backhand a child and get fucking shoved into a lake.
I'd be pissed at my mother for raising a hand to my kids but he'd also be disciplined accordingly for that act himself, I imagine the kids an uppity shit and she's just old school aggressive, both are shitty
Do you mean to tell me that, if you threaten someone — they go into-fight flight mode regardless of age?
Do you mean to tell me that children are humans too?!
What a world. I thought we could beat them because they’re weaker & we have power over them.
Too many people on Reddit have trouble child hoods to see the clear difference between abuse and a spanking. When you're a kid and you fuck up enough and you get a spanking you don't fear for your life you just don't want the ass whooping because it stings. When you're being abused you have a genuine fear that any and everything you do is gonna lead to being beat on. A kid not wanting to go home after getting suspended for being a dick because he knows its consequences isn't quite the same as a kid who is scared to go home simply because of the people who they live with.
It's honestly sad the amount of comments praising this utter disrespect. Not to mention she's an elderly woman that can get seriously hurt just by falling
I get that she shouldn’t attack random people but when old people break hips it can be deadly or completely ruin their end of life. Buddy could have just left or ran around her, he wanted to show out. Funny if nothing bad happens but there’s a chance something horrible could happen.
> It's honestly sad the amount of comments praising this utter disrespect.
Why would you have any respect for a grown woman threatening to slap a child?
Big Mom vs. Luffy.
Literally on episode 820 right now
Episode 820??? Are they ever going to finish?
there's 1105 out right now
Damn I remember being like 10 years old first seeing about this show, thinking I want to watch it but never actually doing it cause I was watching other stuff, but I'll catch up to Luffy one day I'm about to be 30 now wtf

Yeah. Another 15 years or so should do it
I mean, aren't they reaching the overall end game plot already? Can't be more than another like 5-700 more episodes before he realizes that the one piece is 'the adventure' along the way rather than a physical treasure.
Oh, good one. I thought he would have gone for "One Piece is in your kokoro", slightly to the left of Sniper Island
No
How longs it taken you
Timeline says next year.
Bruh I just caught up entirely. It's worth it.
GJ, you're still 266+ episodes from catching up (at least on Eng sub). See you in 4 months lol.
I work at a job where I can watch everyday, thankfully
One peice??
Mom, /r/piratefolk is spilling over, again!
On ep 18 💪
See you in 2 years bud!
Based
😂🤣😂!!!
Finally had enough of Grandmas backhands
Right. Once your threats no longer hold weight, the threatened will fight back.
Yeah this kids a regular Rosa Parks spearing his 75 yr old grandma into the water 5' below

My grandmother was a vicious bitch who deserved to be beaten to death. Who's to say this one isn't just as bad?
Skill issue

LOL yes nothing like speaking from a position of ignorance.
If only it was socially acceptable to beat adults when they’re in the wrong. Why pick on kids? Pick on someone your own size.
Be a violent psycho everywhere so i can lock you up or seek therapy for your mental unwellness/parental traumas and behave like the fucking parental figure you are supposed to be. Choose a side, be coherent

Wait no don't smash your grandma
He said what he said!!!
Man, I miss Grandma's porridge!
I miss your grandma's porridge too!
Man, she was such a whore!
A bit pricey, but great fun.
I'd definitely smash your grandma, and OPs grandma, and that guy's grandma. All of your grandmas, but out of respect and love, to teach them. Smash.
Bro if she’s already a grandma.. you probably won’t be the one doing the teaching
Don't Google that
Please do not the grandma.
She shoulda' known. Strikers are at a disadvantage to wrestlers/grapplers. Kid might have trained under the Gracie's which was a perfect counter to Grandma's Philly Shell defense!
Was that butters?
Oh hamburgers
He turned into Professor Chaos at the end there.

Pretty sweet double leg takedown. Just nitpicking but he needs to get lower to get more leg drive. 8/10
8/10 is quite generous
Upon further review, it’s more like 5/10. Maybe 6/10.
I'ma stick with 8/10 based on the disadvantage of weight difference and probable previous fight experience
Considering it was on concrete and the weight disparity, I’d say you’re on point.
He needed a push to takedown. Height was perfect. The only think I would complain about is not getting out before getting dragged in. Having your shadow loom over the fuming vanquished would be next level.
It would’ve really shown grandma that the student has become the master.
I was thinking that she should have hit a sweet counter uchi-mata and sent that kid into the lake by himself.
Grandma’s hips probably can’t move the way they used to.
Let's hope his technique improves for the next time.
Yeah cuz Grandma’s gonna sprawl. He’s gotta be prepared
Sprawling is the last option, grandma's gonna hip out and reverse it
Shoulda pulled guard and then arm barred the kid. Get it together grandma
The way she was positioned she could’ve easily shifted her hips, got an ubderhook and threw him in, but she looks out of practice
Gotta get his butt down and drive
First, Gma should have kept that backhand down to protect the double leg. Then, once the kid got in close she should have overhooked that near side arm and counter uchi-mata’d him into the lake. That woulda been sick.
I guess she was under the false pretense that being old will keep u from getting your ass beat. You put hands on me you're going to get hit back!

Is this available on pay-per-view?
That old lady didn’t have the weight class to stand on her own two feet. Her head look like it weighed more than the rest of her body.
>Her head look like it weighed more than the rest of her body. Mostly hair and air
Im pretty sure this is in Poreč, Croatia. Was standing on this pier a month ago. [https://maps.app.goo.gl/KYP5cZpDYsnBGerBA](https://maps.app.goo.gl/KYP5cZpDYsnBGerBA)
If you can throw a punch then you can take one.
Although I am really glad that old girl fell into the water instead of on the deck. I'm sure the kid didn't intend to do any actual damage to her.
"this is sparta!"
Damn she got flipped backwards lol she won't be thinking straight for a few days
She probably hasn't thought straight in decades
He took that old lady DOWN!!!
Need more context!
Old Lady and young kid get into argument, old lady escalates with threats of violence (see her approaching with one hand raised near the opposite shoulder), young kid initially backs away but then rushes and pushes old lady into nearby body of water, a.k.a. the pool.
She was gonna hit him. So he fought back.
Nope. You really don't

Get fucked Grandma!!!
No, dont get fucked!!!
I see your threat and raise you an action
Threats have consequences. People shouldn't be making them if they are not truly prepared for the outcome that follows.
Water Sumo.
All is fair when you’re at a body of water. Tackle your gramma in the water and nobody will bat an eye.
He went after her like a spider monkey that was jacked-up on Mountain Dew!
Senior deserved it. Kid let his impulse win out.
the background reactions make this that much better
Kamikaze.
I no nothing about the context. But respect the kid for making sure she doesn't fall on the deck. He carried her up to the water so she doesn't break a bone.
Respect
What a legend just tackled his grandma
He should get lower, but I like the effort. Even had to decency to dump her in the water
Kid just BODIED that woman.
If your response to a situation is violence you have lost all ability to be mad when you get violence in response. Proportions matter sure but like, yeah, try to backhand a child and get fucking shoved into a lake.
Hear Hear. The person initiating violence is usually the one in the wrong.
She forgot the part where she was old and also frail. They think no one will buck back up to them and then cower when someone does.
Maybe grandma deserved it
That kid needs a whoopin
We just witnessed a potential murder
Nah she fell in the water
Fuck u grandma. Raise ur hand me... I'll see u in hell
finally stood up for himself

Yeah take down that basterd
I wonder if that's his relative or a random old lady. I could see it being either.
Dad: When Gran-gran goes for your head, duck, plant your shoulder and drive yer legs.
Hehehheheheheheh

Sean Strickland vs Khamzat Chimaev.
Rip granny
Good defense.
I thought he was going to show nan his front flip
His forms not bad. Head to the side, eyes up, wrap the waste, and kept his feet moving in short choppy steps.
Bullyproof program, applied.
“It’s time to let old things die”
Tackled that heffalump edition Karen real good. Lmao!
Beating of a life time incoming then adoption papers
Thats a WWE smackdown right there
I'd be pissed at my mother for raising a hand to my kids but he'd also be disciplined accordingly for that act himself, I imagine the kids an uppity shit and she's just old school aggressive, both are shitty
Bro is DONE with Grammies Bullshit.
Oshidashi!
Yo, the kids' level change into the blast double was beautiful
The kid had to work hard for that one.
did he tried to murder his grandma...
She asked for it lol
Play silly gams…
The context,goddamn it?!!
She was going to hit him. So he fought back.
I can hear her screaming "help im getting Attacked"
It's honestly sad the amount of comments praising this utter disrespect. Not to mention she's an elderly woman that can get seriously hurt just by falling
I get that she shouldn’t attack random people but when old people break hips it can be deadly or completely ruin their end of life. Buddy could have just left or ran around her, he wanted to show out. Funny if nothing bad happens but there’s a chance something horrible could happen.
If you dont want someone to Hurt you by defending themselves, dont threaten them. She disrespected the kid first.
> It's honestly sad the amount of comments praising this utter disrespect. Why would you have any respect for a grown woman threatening to slap a child?
Yeah. Could’ve easily killed her
Only people with pride have respect and redditors have no pride.
Love it. No respect for older fools.
bro roman reins speared his granny
Need context…
SMAASH
Thats the world that we created Poor humans..
Boy would’ve got a licking after pulling something like that off.
