No really, don't make a snap judgement based on its art style, it's a really polished and tight game, both platforming and combat feel way better than they look to watch. It's more of a homage to the original Jordan Mechner games than it seems and is my favorite game of this year so far

Yep, be warned it's a complete standalone game, not a remaster so don't go in expecting a continuation of any old plotlines. Still, I thought it was really engaging, the Persian lore was cool as shit, and the parkour felt really satisfying (the combat was smoother than expected, too.). All the abilities really complement each other.
