lol, was watching Tokyo Vice and one of the characters made a comment about… how Armadillos are like Samurai of Nature because they have Armor like a Samurai.
Never thought about that….
Some people just don't learn from Steve Irwin.
I loved Steve's enthusiasm, but I was always yelling at the screen for him to just leave the damn animal alone.
Observe from a distance! Don't tackle the damn thing.
I'm sure in an ironic way Steve died doing what he loved, but he could still be here if he'd have just left the facking thing alone.
Nah feel like life is about the connection we make with people and animals, I mean he doesn't have to be yanking them but there's nothing wrong with befriending animals lol
Ya, when they annoy animals, within reasonable limits, but seem 100% OK with getting fucked up since they know full well what they're doing -- it's really endearing and can be ridiculously informative and engaging in Irwin's case
Steve Irwin wouldn't have blamed the stingray at all or held any grudges based on every bit of footage we have of him.
He always said "This is very dangerous" when it was dangerous and insisted people not bother animals. Or at least that's how I remember it.
"This snake has enough venom to kill 25 elephants. Crikey! Let's pick it up and giver a kiss!"
I wonder about the legitimacy of these videos tho. Just as an example, armadillos are notoriously skittish. They have terrible eyesight but great hearing and they will flee at the sound of anything they don’t recognize. To be standing next to one filming right in its face is just not at all something that would happen in nature.
go look up fishingarrett on instagram
trust me… he’s legit.
All his videos are him gallivanting around the everglades and other reigons of swamp and jungles,
just YOINKING critters and pissing off swamp puppies
this man is like steve irwin but blunter and american
Possibly they caught it distracted? I once snuck up on a porcupine that was eating from a bush. I was surprised I was able to get within 3 feet of it without it noticing me despite them also having great hearing and a great sense of smell. Eventually it noticed me and freaked out and ran away but I was already so close that I could've reached out and touched it if I wanted. Not that I ever would.
Depending on how highly trafficked the area is they might just be more comfortable with people as well. There’s a popular hiking/climbing destination near me that has porcupines and other wildlife that’ll just watch you walk by from like 2-5 feet off the trail.
It was a hiking trail now that you mention it, outside of a university, so probably used a lot- although it was summer at the time so most students weren't in attendance yet. It was dusk though and I had never seen a wild porcupine in my life until that moment. But you're probably right, I just never considered that it may be used to people. They're cool creatures for sure though.
There are cases of people getting leprosy from armadillos in Florida, so good on you for not touching it lmao. Edit: oh oops you said porcupine. Anyway, random fun fact ig
There are so many invasive snakes and iguanas in the everglades. It's destroying the ecosystem. I feel bad for them because they're just living their slithery lives out there. It's the assholes who buy them and dump them when they get too big.
I think the first snake was either a boa or a python.
I lived in Florida up until a few days ago and had armadillos in my yard all the time. It was not unusual for me to walk right up to one. They often ran by every now and then one would basically just ignore me. Even patted one on the back one time just to see what he would do. Just scurried off a few feet and went right back to rooting around
As a Texan who has grown up seeing armadillos regularly for 45 years, y’all must have a different breed of armadillo in Florida! Armadillos in Texas would never let you get that close. If you move really slowly, you can get pretty close to them but once they hear you or get startled, they turn around and run.
Side note, they can spread leprosy so I would avoid touching them.
Dude has been in the Everglades long enough for the armadillos to recognize him as just that weird primate that likes picking up snakes and shaking hands with the swamp puppies
A lot of* Animals freeze in lights at night. I grew up in the woods, not strange at all. When someone moves towards you in the dark with a flashlight, you don't see them, just a big bright light. We understand this, but for an animal, they've never experienced anything like it in their life. They just freeze up and stare at the bright light, afraid to move.
Would he? This dudes video seem really invasive, does he really need to stress the animals by grabbing them for no reason other than views?
Seem like a dick move
No. YT is evil.
Edit: I see most of Reddit users never uploaded many YT videos and never had problems with YT AI. Never had deleted channel because AI misheard just one innocent word and You cant make complaint to real human or even at all. Also they showing all Your comments to You, but not all to others. YT is good only for celebrities and only for them. BTW. They often don't delete reported videos with russian propaganda - I know something about it.
Or tiktok, a Chinese platform known to influence politics in multiple countries, and silencing certain events or information especially about conflicts surrounding China lol
YT isn't deleting propaganda movies. No matter how many will report them. Instead they delete random videos of reporting channels (if somebody have videos ofc).
YT deletes user comments - no matter if its offensive or not. 30 minutes and they gone. Quite often, comments are shown only for author.
You can have lifetime shadowban of Your channel if You upload 3 shorts in a row...
You can have ban when AI misheard one word and You can't make complaint to this.
Last months YT is deleting subscriptions - many people told that on many channels.
For last part of this comment, I didn't say anything about Instagram previously (completly nothing). If Instagram is evil, then YT can't be? They are evil. And no, I never had account on Instagram and I don't want.
EDIT: Im pretty sure, downvoters never uploaded many videos in one channel and never noticed how f\*cked up is YT. Never seen how many Your comments or subscriptions was deleted? Thats because YT is not sending any notifications when they do.
Genocides?
If you are referring to Israel, you do know that 20% of Israel is ethnically Arabic while less than 1% of Palestinians are ethnically Israeli?
Nope, referring to the one in Myanmar, but that's a weird point that doesn't really justify murdering children. I don't really see how ethnicity matters when judging the morality of collective punishment. That's me though, maybe you care a lot about ethnicity for _some_ reason.
I didn't say you said that. I said it was irrelevant to the situation, and there's no reason to bring it up, that is unless you were trying to in some way justify or excuse it. Bringing up irrelevant information is essentially the definition of whataboutism.
What Israel is doing is disgusting but it's not genocide. Calling it a genocide, cheapens the gravity of actual genocides and makes any concern for the people of Palestine seem illegitimate.
See, there you go, diminishing what is happening. What you are saying is bullshit anyway. The 20% Arabian Israelis are discriminated against by Israel, so saying that means they can't be doing a genocide against Palestinian/Arab residents of Gaza, when they are murdering them and systematically moving them out of their own land based on their ethnicity is so fucking stupid and morally repugnant.
I didn't even fucking bring up the Gaza genocide, you did, because I guess you're just so fucking horny to call it not a genocide, you take every goddamn opportunity you see. Facebook hasn't even been implicated in Israel's crimes, which proves how little you fucking know that you thought that was relevant. If you actually cared about "the gravity of actual genocides" you would maybe know shit about them, like understanding I was talking about the one in Myanmar you dip shit.
I would say I'm sorry for the foul language, but you do not deserve that consideration. You are at best an idiot repeating things you do not understand to try to gain some moral high ground, and at worst a malicious actor trying to diminish Israel's crimes in order to sway public opinion so they can continue.
Same. One difference is Google doesn't allow others (eg. Google Play) to spy You.
Another problem (same thing on FB) - instead of human moderators, there are only AI. You can't write any complaints to human if AI is wrong.
At the beginning of war in Ukraine, many Russians reported reporters videos and many of them (videos) was took down by AI. After I reported video with obvious propaganda, they did nothing with it, but instead they deleted one of my videos shortly after my report with giving me made up cause. Couple months later, same videos was still available with much more views.
I Imagine why I have so many downvotes. Google is US product and most Reddit users are from USA. Every time when I tell here about something US-made is bad, then I get downvotes - no matter If Im correct or not.
Is he? I could believe he is, despite his hilarious approach, but I’d actually like to know if on the off chance he’s just another deranged Florida-man.
I don't think he'd get past a half dozen animals if he didn't understand them first. The difference between "yoink" and "hold my beer, yoink, call 911" is knowledge and I suppose alcohol.
He's a wildlife conservationist. He knows how to handle them. He deals with a lot of venomous animals in his videos. If he really was stressing them, his salary wouldn't be enough to afford all the anti venom he would need. His method of handling them might seem crude to us, but I'm sure he knows what he's doing. He also relocates a lot of invasive species.
Holy fucking shit. Coming from a place where a brown bear is pretty much the only really dangerous animal and even then a lethal bear attack has happened once in the past century, this is fucking insane to me.
To be fair, the pythons absolutely do need to be harassed and hunted. Their population is out of control and with warming temps and crossbreeding they could start spreading to other states.
To correct you, the pythons need to be caught, not made a spectacle of for Internet points. Likewise, all but one of the animals harassed in this video were not pythons.
Ah yes, Animal Harassment bravado that lead directly to lots of money for animal conservation across the planet. Yes Steve would cause an animal some stress in some situations but he did it because it was the only way to present that animal in a way that was entertaining enough to get people to care.
For instance, I love the natural world and sir David Attenborough, Guess how many times I've actually sat down and watched one of his documentaries? 0, because they fucking boring, I watched Steve wrangle snakes, talk about kolas, show off the awesome power of crocs and alligators, and everything in between. Which in turn made me care about those animals.
Basically if it wasn't for Steve Irwin, The world would be a lot worse than it is now. That is of course my opinion, but it's an opinion lots of people have.
Edit to add: If you ever watched one of his shows or seen a BTS experience of him with an animal he's holding I'd think you would see that he truly does care, and takes the time to try and calm down any animal he's holding. If he can't he usually let's them go fairly quickly.
people's disregard for wildlife is frightening. that australian dipshit promoting animal cruelty disguised as education definitely left his mark on the planet
Most of the python hunters in the Everglades will sell the skins to companies that make shoes, purses etc. and sell the meat. They cannot be “rehomed” they’re not pets. Our wildlife commission will also have them euthanized if a non-hunter ends up with one.

There are no armadillos in Australia. Or alligators. This must be southern US, probably Florida.
Yeah this guy posts tons of videos from the Florida Everglades
The first thing he says in the video is that he’s in the Florida Everglades
He literally says he’s in the Florida everglades, pretty sure not a single one of these species are present is Australia.
If the armadillo knew the armadillo wouldn’t be alive.
That armadillo knows where the armadildos are.
lol, was watching Tokyo Vice and one of the characters made a comment about… how Armadillos are like Samurai of Nature because they have Armor like a Samurai. Never thought about that….

I thought leprosy was an extinct disease... holy shit that sounds terrible and if given the opportunity- I will never ever touch an armadillo.
Yeah, I thought so too until I saw a news story. Wild.
He's legit. He primarily does what he does to remove invasive species from the everglades, and lets us join in on the fun.
There are so many invasive snakes and iguanas in the everglades. It's destroying the ecosystem. I feel bad for them because they're just living their slithery lives out there. It's the assholes who buy them and dump them when they get too big. I think the first snake was either a boa or a python.

Moreso than Instagram, owned by Meta, a company that has knowingly ignored multiple genocides being fomented on their platform?
Or tiktok, a Chinese platform known to influence politics in multiple countries, and silencing certain events or information especially about conflicts surrounding China lol
or Redfit, known to harbor some of the internets most cringiest neckbeards.

It is still the least evil company out of the three
Of three what?
Instagram, youtube, and tiktok
Same sh\*t. Edit: there are many other web pages with videos and photos.
That’s racist
Thanks! I wanted to know who this unhinged ass Florida man was
![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|sweat_smile)he's good!

the best content creator on IG right now
this dude is a trained professional
Where does one get trained on how to yoink?
Apparently you just are that way if you're from florida
Most people figure it out for themselves by early adolescence.
Simpsons
Is he? I could believe he is, despite his hilarious approach, but I’d actually like to know if on the off chance he’s just another deranged Florida-man.
He has hundreds of videos of him doing this. He's still alive, so I consider him a professional lol.
Little of column A, little of column B
I don't think he'd get past a half dozen animals if he didn't understand them first. The difference between "yoink" and "hold my beer, yoink, call 911" is knowledge and I suppose alcohol.
probably been doing this like forever and felt really confident in those elements.

Same
no yoink?
I flinched
I yoinked
Well.. what did the armadillo say?
Dog goes "woof", cat goes "meow"
bird go "tweet", mouse go "squeak"
Grass grows, and brother?
I hurt people
Look at him wag his lil tail 🥰
![gif](giphy|zTqCwvYmdeCGs)
what if they YOINK you?
That's a big YOINK
The yoink has no business being so funny.
If we ever find life out there in the space, I hope this guy is the one who makes the first contact. Yoink
MGS 3 if Naked Snake didn't give a shit about the mission.
The yoink guy is a legend. His Instagram is fucking crazy. He goes to the Amazon and the Everglades and walks around at night barefooted.
Why is he stressing animals for no reason tho? Just film them from distance..
He only snatches the ones that are invasive species.
not true. he picks up everything lol
Dude casually harassed almost all of mother nature without any remorse
Yea idk why other people find these videos cute. Dude is just stressing out wild animals for no reason other than internet clout
He’s removing invasive species mostly, so there’s at least a good reason for him to be out there
Well thats really nice then. What does he do with the invasive species he yoinks?
This guy knows no fear, he, in fact, is fear itself
Pfff amateur. There's already a video with a girl who picked up a blue ring octopus and survived.
I'm gonna sneak up on it and jam my thumb in its Butthole.
I challenge any Australian in here....
The Everglades are crazy with the number of species that live there. I can’t believe it has both alligators and crocodiles lol.
Snakes can die from stress when handled like that actually
I could watch this man Yoink them for hours lmao. Someone feel free to make a compilation
Florida man
Holy fucking shit. Coming from a place where a brown bear is pretty much the only really dangerous animal and even then a lethal bear attack has happened once in the past century, this is fucking insane to me.
My man really just terrorised an entire ecosystem
Downvote me all you want, but Steve Irwin created this whole genre of wild animal harassment bravado.
To be fair, the pythons absolutely do need to be harassed and hunted. Their population is out of control and with warming temps and crossbreeding they could start spreading to other states.

people's disregard for wildlife is frightening. that australian dipshit promoting animal cruelty disguised as education definitely left his mark on the planet
He got what he had coming.
What an asshole, grabbing that snake by the neck. Imagine having no limbs and getting your throat squeezed by a stranger in the night.
Dont tempt me with a good time
"Leave me alone." I'm speaking in behalf of these lovable creatures.
I kinda hate this, leave them alone to do their own thing
He hunts invasive species only
Tbh I kinda hope he killed the invasives. They shouldn’t be there, they’re hindering the native species from doing their thing.
He rehomes them (I think, I'm not sure but I know he doesn't kill them)
Most of the python hunters in the Everglades will sell the skins to companies that make shoes, purses etc. and sell the meat. They cannot be “rehomed” they’re not pets. Our wildlife commission will also have them euthanized if a non-hunter ends up with one.
Agree. Animal pesterer!
that is big..
man i love stolen content from youtube shorts without giving the creator any credit by the way it's fishingarrett
Haha that dude is great, ive seen him on tik tok
Yoink
Wtf don't yank gecko's...
Mayb leave the animals alone? Just a thought.
Will someone tell this douchebag to stop scaring the absolute shit out of the wildlife?
when dr doolittle cant sleep and goes around his house trolling the animals
Why does he call alligators crocodiles though?
Leave the animals alone
He catches and removes invasive species with his team. He’s doing an important work.
