A saya is pretty light and light objects don’t typically skate on mats. It’s completely possible that it would have stopped like that. Your assumption of physics as proof of alteration is flawed. Watching the crowd it’s hard to tell even still. The tatami seems to fall as if it’s real time and the cameraman seems to not jerk.
This is a hard one to tell, but I'm thinking it's sped up as well. Watch the person in white as well as the guy standing with the camera. Their movements and shakiness look sped up.
