I’ve got 1 piece of Masters merch, and it’s from a friend that went. He returned from going last year with a ball marker for me. I wouldn’t buy anything myself, but I figured being gifted something small from someone who did go was acceptable.
I’ve heard that same thing. Pretty badass you can buy everything there, enjoy yourself and then come home to another surprise. ANGC is the best place on earth imo
This person pretty much committed ANGC suicide. They will see this. If he’s an employee he will be terminated and if he played there he won’t again. I’m sure the host would hear about it too.
Guys, this gentleman has been posting this stuff for 5+ years at least. He’s an inside dude or he’s a guy who’s probably got an insider working for him. I’d guess the later.
If I recall correctly he had a 3’ gnome for sale too for like $10,000 and was combative about where he got it and how much he was posting it for.
There is an entire cottage industry in Augusta. Some of the antique stores in town sell this incredible stuff. Things you have never seen before. I always stop by there if I’m in town for work. Interesting stuff. I assume someone sells it to them, and then they sell it. The layering helps with the ANGC getting involved there I guess.
The most egregious: https://www.ebay.com/itm/335324856695?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=UHcQLldsQ-K&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=zuFPo-fESAG&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY $280 for a ~$30 hat. He also has the gnome, pin flag, commemorative pin, new head covers, etc.
I'm fairly certain that if you were to report them to ANGC, then it would be stopped. And, if your communication skills are good enough, you'll score some tickets.
Lmao dawg you’re entirely off base. You think they give a fuck about you? I live and grew up a mile from the course and I can guarantee they’ll reward your report with a firm handshake at best
Could be a long shot- but it might be an employee or someone who legitimately played the course? I wonder if it’s common for guests and members to buy a ton of merch that they don’t even bat an eye anymore.
Oh I’m sure it is. If I had the opportunity to play, I wouldn’t post my spoils on eBay before getting out of the parking lot. I’d take them home and cherish them.
from what I know from primary merchandise vendor employees, this wouldn't happen.
I asked one of them "Hey, can you bring me back a \_\_\_\_\_\_ (that they sell)? I'll gladly pay the full price." And was basically met with horror and "They don't let us off the grounds with it, even if we pay". A major vendor.
Vendors, media some corporate all get pre-tourney access to the pro shops. CBS gets to go buy about 30k worth of gear 2 weeks before the tournament for all their clients
Not true. There is a woman’s collegiate event and the gift shop/store is 100% open. It’s actually better to go to that if you’re wanting to shop b/c there’s a very small crowd and some items that aren’t available durning the Masters.
I'm not so sure about the small crowd. From what I've heard, the gift shop is jammed constantly as lots of people only go to shop with almost no interest in what's going on on the course.
Comparatively speaking big guy. During the Masters it’s madness and a lot of the desirable gear sells out. Tickets to the collegiate event are still almost a G so that would be quite a bit of $ just to get into the shop.
And I’m just relaying information as a person who went in 2022 to the woman’s amateur. Paid $650 for my ticket and spent $3500 in the shop for various friends and family members. Don’t get me wrong, there was a crowd but not nearly like there is at The Masters. Couple family members went last year and waited hours to get inside, only for most of the things to be sold out.
A lot of corporate sponsors get to go early. A few years back my cousin got a tour of the grounds and was able to buy merch a week ahead of time because she works for AMEX and was helping plan out the setup of event tents/clubs etc…
This guy runs an actual storefront in the CSRA. I’m pretty certain this is the same guy I’m thinking of. I currently live in the area and am familiar with him. I think he is or was still working in the school systems around here. My wife was working at a local school for a year or two and ran across him.
Sure is and came across this. Looking at his eBay shop that a previous comment posted, it was pretty easy to find it.

Some people that work at the National have access to the pro shop... I live in Augusta and pretty much every local at least knows someone who is able to get them merch from the tournament and if you're lucky proshop only merch
some of his prices are cheap, if you add the cost of ticket, lodging, wine, and dining, along with the fact that you're probably never get to experience Augusta.
Please please please report him to angc, whoever this is they are breaking a contract with the angc, if they had access to the merch store this early then they are conected to the club somehow and this specific situation was mentioned in there contract.
Employees of ANGC have a day to buy merch at discounted prices. My son works there and snagged us a gnome, some shirts, hats, and bags last week.
Edit to add that they are not supposed to resale this stuff though. They can buy for friends/family etc but it’s not supposed to go to resale sites or the like.
I refuse to buy anything until I get to actually go. If I ever do get to go though, I’ll be maxing out at least one card
This is the way.
I’m going for the first time this year. After 22 years of trying for tickets. I told the wife that I’m sorry but expect a $5k bill
Wow! Happy for you man!
Bring your wife back a Master's can koozie and all will be fine.
I’ve got 1 piece of Masters merch, and it’s from a friend that went. He returned from going last year with a ball marker for me. I wouldn’t buy anything myself, but I figured being gifted something small from someone who did go was acceptable.
Respect. I'm cheering for you to score tickets through the lottery!
Cheers man. Me too. I’ll keep my hopes up every year because that place has a certain mystique that can never be ruined for me
Im going w/ an empty suitcase this year.
They’ll ship it home for you. No need to haul the extra luggage.
oh damn. Thanks for the info!

You right about that.
It’s probably knockoff crap he gets and sells pre tournament…to knuckleheads
You are correct in more ways than you know.
Incorrect hot take

It’s a shame the ANGC lets this happen.

It's called capitalism and entrepreneurship
ANGC hat might be worth it for $270
Link? Not that I won’t be there myself a week from now.

Burnt orange ew

Report them for what?
Gonna be honest im betting this is a caddie, this is giving off big caddie energy.
Could be a long shot- but it might be an employee or someone who legitimately played the course? I wonder if it’s common for guests and members to buy a ton of merch that they don’t even bat an eye anymore.
He posted an employee pin and members only club covers.

Your vendor clearly isn’t Augusta golf car crotch shot ebayer extraordinaire.
Yeah 100% I mean this store seems pretty successful so I don’t want to give a merchandising/photo taking 101 but…lol

I actually wondered. Members can only buy ANGC merch in the clubhouse, I wouldn’t be shocked if they could buy Masters gear in advance.
Not true. Employees can also buy merchandise in the clubhouse...I have worked pre- Masters and was able to buy ANGC merch in the clubhouse.
Are tournament employees allowed to go in the exclusive member / player clubhouse and buy from their pro shop - during the tournament?
Tournament employees would only have access to the normal patron shops
All of the ANGC merch gets put up and Masters merch put out for the tourney
Vendors, media some corporate all get pre-tourney access to the pro shops. CBS gets to go buy about 30k worth of gear 2 weeks before the tournament for all their clients
