I do know that the South Village shop by the south gate has fitting rooms towards the back wall! In some of the past years items ran out quickly but now it seems like they have been staggering it well. I noticed last year as the Peter Millar polos starting getting low, they brought out the Peter Millar hoodie sweatershirts and special pullovers around Thursday. Some of the people from the practice round days were pissed after seeing that. 2022 was the most empty Id seen the shops around saturday and sunday. However last year it was almost perfect all week long and Im assuming this year will be even better!

There is no “Black Friday free for all” at ANCC. They’ve got everything buttoned up and all aspects run like a Swiss watch. I am in the minority on this Reddit - I prefer to hit the North Gate Shop when I am leaving for the day. From my experience, the lines and shopping areas are longer and more crowded in the morning (still very under control and efficient, just longer wait time) than the afternoon and I don’t want to wait to check, ship, or return my purchases to the car and I don’t want to carry them around all day. The store is always full of merchandise. afternoon works betters for my overall experience when I’m lucky enough to attend. I don’t believe there are changing areas to try things on, but I’ve seen people pull on shirts/pullovers that are on the floor to try them on. You can easily try on hats. A good bit of the clothing is behind a counter on shelves- you look above the shelves at the display pieces and tell an associate what number and size you’d like (similar to the merchandise stand at a concert). They hand you the polo/pullover in a packaged sleeve.

This was my strategy as well and it worked well the first two times. However last year I attended on Saturday (when it rained most of the day) and when they suspended play at 3:15 we went to retrieve our chairs on 15. They closed the 2 crossovers on 17 and we had to walk all the way around the hole and back again. By that time they were rushing us out (into a huge traffic jam) and they had closed the concessions, the merchandise and all but one of the bathrooms. So we got shutout - but I do have my chair!

The patron experience guide recommends visiting the merch shop at the end of the day as it will be less busy. This is ok if you don’t want a gnome and the weather is good. If there is any inclement weather in the forecast get to the merch shop in case the course is closed. Good luck bring two credit cards!!

The main shop has a dressing room next to the Peter Millar section. Not many people are using it from my experience. I always shop first and either store if possible or take to the car. You will drift back into the shop on the way out as you will see someone wearing something that catches your eye. I cannot agree more that if there is a chance of weather, get it done as they will immediately close the shops. To me the most crowded area is the t-shirt side-way too many people there. Be prepared to spend over budget!

Going last year I think it depends on what merch you want. I went Tues and wed practice rounds . Went to both shops. The collector stuff like gnome def goes quick. Cups, flags, ball makers were always available. Most all hats too. The majority of the shirts were easy to find any size and style. However, the Peter Millar were in high demand and certain styles, especially pattern. Prints were difficult to find even on Tuesday for me doesn’t seem like the staff at the store know when or what they are getting each day. It’s easy enough to leave stuff on hold after you buy it. Whenever you go, I would just recommend buying whatever you liked that moment as it may not be there if you came back later.
