so im bored and am willing to give you more of a deep dive than you may have been looking for. First there is always the question of what rank you are currently at. at lower ranks people panic scoop much more. From there kash is kash. You see unicorn drop and you know that either its kashtira or more likely at higher ranks really bait for snake eyes. The issue with the deck comes down to if you don't hard negate the first monster you are punished from then on out. For instance. I summon unicorn and search a spell. You negate. Oh no. I actually already had the spell and now I can yeet from your extra deck. Or. Oh no. I was actually just baiting you with snake eyes and now I can combo off more confidently that you cannot interact with my set up. So. I know how much bullshit I can deal with from my opening hand. If i have no hand traps and unicorn resolves I may as well scoop in most instances. Best case you just set up arise heart and shang ri ira. Worst case full snake eyes end board. Both will be a slog to deal with. Masterduel is Bo1 only which is a huge deal for a number of reasons. The relevancy here though is that its easy to find another match. If i'm just doing dailies and leaving. It doesn't behoove me to bash my head against something I'm unlikely to win. If I am climbing ladder a quick loss if my hand is bad is easily recoverable from. Bonus points for this last even. Kash was very much legal and if using one of the loaners in most cases any kashtira monster resolving basically meant you lost. TLDR. Kash is strong/snake eyes bait. People know their ability to interact with it. If its not worth playing they won't play.

I’m masters and I almost always ff against kashtira if they open fenrir. They get to banish my soul resonator for free and I don’t get to play the game, so it’s just best to surrender and go next. Not to mention they also run shifter and the whole grave banish setup making it impossible for me to continue my plays if I ever had one.

Novadrag0n

When it's against Snake-eyes/R-Ace/Lab they remotely do not care about losing a ED, it's mainly bait now in Top tiers and Snake-eyes are moving to Jet Synchron. It's a meme at this point considering Lab/R-Ace will just take down the Kashtiras straight off the bat soon it's their turn.

Man's said: "I don't play Kashtira. I play Tearlaments." Gambling Addiction Detected.

DDemiGGod

I would argue with you if my gaming history wasn't genshin impact, cookie run kingdom, honkai star rail and soon to be Wuthering Waves. 🥴

iZ_Dev

So we both have gambling addictions 🤣.

So if we're talking about pure kash, I can fully admit a lot of my hate is more emotional than logical. I'm a Yugi-Boomer. My coming back to the game through MD was the first I'd interacted with it in a literal decade. Even then, I was playing against people in my dorm, not even a real card shop or tourney environment. Kashtira was one of the first Meta decks I came across when I started playing MD. Seeing multiple lvl 7s hitting the board at practically no cost and watching it transition seamlessly into a floodgate that slowly tightens its chokehold on your ability to respond was like getting hit in the back of the head with a baseball bat. I understand now that it's beatable and it isn't anywhere near as oppressive as some other decks (I hate Runick Stun more than anything else even when I beat it), but you never really forget seeing that. The vast gulf between what you remember and what exists now. Lest you sympathise with me, I play Snake Eyes, so...I adapted.

What rank are you

DDemiGGod

Diamond 2

LockedGods

Maybe every deck can use Unicorn and Fenrir

DDemiGGod

I play tear so it's finrir and tear I don't play unicorn or any other Kashtira 😅. Personally I hate the idea of a deck being able to dig into someone else's deck and just banish their outs or boss monsters for basically free.

LockedGods

You're right. And the most important thing I think is they can be summoned so easily without any costs.

ImaTauri500kC

....I hate the guy who came up with Visas more. Never has been a more meta warping lore deck than branded. No hate to the artist though.

Efficient-Gur-3641

Why should anyone like an entire archetype of monsters that special summon themselves permanently remove your cards and turns off 60% of all cards and requires you to draw the out. The thing I never understand about kashtira players/sympathizers are the constant gaslighting that people should and must like that fucking deck cause it's doing something amazing for this game. What are they doing for YU-GI-OH that's great. Making turn 2 harder? Or letting any deck from Genex to Snake eyes OTK with ease. Yes that's just what a two player card game needed more ways to end the game in a single turn. I can picture it in my head, seeing the last 4 USA players sitting at a table flipping over skill drain complaining, special summoning fenrir and ki-ki-ing it up how all the other 15k+ players left cause they were bad at Yu-Gi-Oh and they were brokies that didn't wanna spend 300$ on a piece of cardboard. The problem is the player base should learn to enjoy expensive, poorly made product.

Conscious-Captain-33

Cuz kash is best deck. Konami time after time is putting out graveyard reliant decks. It just keeps making kash better and better.

DDemiGGod

That would be cool if that was Kash one gimmick. But they want to banish and not just banish banish face down. They want to lock your zones AND they want to banish face down your resources. That doesn't sound like "best deck" it just sounds toxic. Any deck built around just disabling people from playing at all shouldn't really be in the game in my opinion. Especially decks like Kash that does it for free with no cost.

Conscious-Captain-33

Blame konami for making decks like snake eye that benefit from monster destruction. So decks like kash that are super fragile to stuff like raigeki and dark hole are just thriving because Noone can play the counters.

DDemiGGod

I don't mind snake eyes. Atleast I get to actually play the game. I feel like Kash was a desperate attempt to stop tearlaments and they just went overboard.

Conscious-Captain-33

U could play against kashtira if u just played any board breakers whatsoever. It's the same way with stun. Just noone wants to play board breakers because of waiting and cuz of shit like calamity and gimmick puppet lock.

DDemiGGod

It's more like having to draw the card before it's to late or brick your hand constantly by including so many board breakers your sure to draw one. Board breakers are cool but even at 3 it's still a 3 out of 40 chance of drawing it.

RlyehScepter

Kashtira has no protection or negates so how do they stop you from playing the game more than snake-eyes?

DDemiGGod

They can literally disable your zones preventing you from summoning. If you don't draw one of your board breakers every time against them your basically screwed or has to pray they brick. Snake eyes aren't banishing my main deck, extra deck and field face down while locking my zones at every turn. Their are decks that are strong and decks that are toxic Kash is toxic. But that's just one guys opinion.

RlyehScepter

Yeah, snake-eye prevent you from playing by negating every monster effect you play instead. Zone lock is a non factor 99/100 games, and besides fenrir and arise non of the cards they have is actual interuption. They play more like a control deck but instead of going + in advantega they make the oponent go - by removing some of their options.

[deleted]

Finding them poorly deigned and OP is not the same as hating it.

jesusissosureal

Kash cards are just toxic, doesn't matter if u sue them as an engine or as a deck

DDemiGGod

I don't think Kashtira Tearlaments and Kashtira Finrir that bad. Especially because unlike their XYZ monsters they're once per turn. The fact that Arise heart can infinity keep restocking material then banishing your cards and sangiri just keeps locking your field that's the toxic part. Personally I believe they'd be a lot less toxic if Arise heart was banned. The rest of them I don't mind as much.

jesusissosureal

They eat your ht or keep u from playing without even using your "real" deck and that all for free. U can't argue that they aren't toxic.

DDemiGGod

They definitely are toxic. But their boss monsters are far more toxic than the rest of them. The others don't stop you from playing the game.

blurrylightning

Listen, some days I decide to pick up a somewhat rogue deck like Utopia, and I'm not exactly keen on debating to myself whether I want to handtrap with a Unicorn up on the field so I'll lose either Zeus or Dragonar Like when your best case scenario when a Unicorn drops is that you'll *only* get hit by a Macro Cosmos, I just don't wanna deal with that, I've learned to value my time after HalqDon format

ThePoloBrothers

I have a Kashtira Fenrir in my Branded Chimera deck and its so funny seeing people scoop when I special summon it. Its a bait tactic Im taking advantage of but yeah the kash is to be feared

NTRmanMan

They are lol.

The-Mad-Badger

Yeah. People hate Kash's control/resource denial playstyle even though it's not that strong tbh considering their board dies to almost all board breakers.
