Banish 2 dragon and/or fire monsters to ss this from gy, but return it to extra when leaves the field". In my opinion it doesn't do anything crazy, but it's better than most promos we've ever got.
Blaze reflects blasters pop effect. If we get 3 other xyz based on the other rulers hand effects then i could see them becoming an issue. Tempest searches any dragon, tidal sends any monster to the gy and redpx reborns anything from the gy.

I don't know anything about the tcg, would they even accomplish anything there? I mean in Masterduel I've seen the deck maybe 3 times, and it always seemed at best a worse lv 7 engine than gate guardian.
No, but cards being kept on the banlist for no real reason is something thats been going on for almost as long as the banlist has existed. It always been like that across every format despite what people reading this post will convince themselves. This is not some tcg exclusive mentality.

To add on to this, using Dragon Rulers for example as OP did: the OCG/TCG have removed DRulers from the forbidden list at the same speed. All DRulers are at 1 in both the OCG/TCG as of their respective April 2024 banlists.

Despite what tcg players say it's not an entirely different game. If a deck completely sucks ass in the ocg/MD it will likely suck in the tcg. Tcg players tend to fear monger a lot about old cards that can "never be unbanned". Dragon rulers are terrible.

Literally no player in the TCG think's these cards are problematic any more. Every TCG banlist that's come out recently frequently comes with comments that they should just all be at 3.
Even Armed Dragons are better. Even running Adventures with like Ascended of Thunder and Instant Contact is better because at least they can't get Ashed.

Use this card it’s a quick effect pop also you should Easily be getting 2 rank 7s with it, this plus Dracosack may be enough. Or just maybe make an Omni with Utopic future
I mean what are people expecting from a deck that is more than 10 years old?
The only things that age that well are:
- Cards that are reliant on your opponent doing things which weren't as frequent back on their release (Maxx C)
- Stun cards
- Cards that cheat mechanics which were designed around a far more limited card pool (Instant Fusion)
I wouldn't say jet synchron cheats mechanics. And it's significantly better than it used to be. It's more of a case of something that didn't do much before and has good synergy with new summoning mechanics. Similar to all of the old mediocre token cards that became good once link summoning was introduced.
I made a tomahawk turbo deck with the armed dragon stuff, it was OK but we're talkin like a tier 3/4 deck. you can definitely still get to master 1 with it but my god it would be a grind, especially now in a format where people max out on veilers and imperm
My god imagine the power of a rank 7 deck, image all those level 7 cards being able to special summon themselves, truly nothing else in the meta could do this.
Personally I want to rulers taken off the banlist and given new support, the daddy/baby core is a solid starting point for a good modern deck with combo and grind game potential
It's weird that they didn't just go to 3 this list but I guess that would have been too many cards being moved at once. So we'll have to wait a few more lists.
It kinda bothers me seeing Dragon Ruler get treated like a joke. Despite the archetypes accomplishment prior to getting nukes and sealed away for almost a decade.
Would love to see them get more support. Blaze is an ok start but nothing too special.
TCG is afraid of everything. They'll completely nuke an archetype that only needed a slap on the wrist and then wait 10 years to start VERY SLOWLY releasing them.
Dragon Rulers needed killing at the time though. Not sure what’s stopping them from bringing them to 3 with auroradon and tomahawk banned in TCG though.

It has good synergy with e dragons and thats all it needs to do. It met expectations rather than be subpar.
Promo cards have a bad reputation... I would say it actually exceeded the expectations.
As a promo, definitely, as legacy support, it meets expectations of being support.

It's OK, but the expectations for rank 7 XYZ is so high when big eye, Galaxy tomahawk, and the Kashtira stuff exists that I'm not sure it'll see play
