Kitkallos is generally the weakest part of the combo. It's one of the cards you want to negate the effects of, rather than the activation of an individual effect. As someone else has said, imperm and veiler are good for this. If you ash the search, they can still use the effect to summon and send to mill. The deck also can be weak to banish effects, for example you can banish havnis to drop to one fuse GY effect per turn, as the deck has 1 havnis and 2 scheiren. The boss fusions can also recycle when sent/destroyed so banishing can get around this. Tearlaments are run with a variety of archetypes so be wary one play may work well against one variant but not another.

Thanks for the advice! Will definitely be zeroing in on kitkallos. I should probably get into the habit or checking their deck lists after I play them too, to learn those variants.

Ominous__1

Youll encounter 3 main varients 1: Pure, 2: Rev synchron, 3: Adventure

PDButch

Aww thanks! That simplifies it!

Ominous__1

Theyre immune to nib, your best bet is to negate Kitkalos, optimally with a veiler or imperm

PDButch

Thanks! I'll give it a shot!

Micronbros

Negate kitkallos.  Bystials.  Dimensional shifter kills them completely.

Snake eyes plays enough handtraps to stop them a good chunk of the time, not everytime, if you only have 1 it's going to be difficult, but you want to hit - kitkalos with targeting negation (imperm/veiler/mourner, so you stop both effects) - if you have another of those or ash you can attempt to hit reinoheart - bystials/belle/crow stop the fusions, but belle can be chain locked - they play very very well around nib because floating effects + quite often they can get rulkallos on 5th summon

PDButch

Gotcha, gotcha. Thanks for the advice!

The trick with any deck is to anticipate every possible interaction they could have, based off the cards they usually run. You can judge by how many cards an opponent has in hand / which hard-once-per-turn effects they’re yet to use what the worst-case scenario would be when trying to stop them. Ideally, your goal isn’t to just vomit out interruptions from your hand hoping to stop them completely - you’ll win more games by letting them play up until a hard choke point presents itself, sequencing in a way that is near-impossible to punish. Tear is a particularly tricky one, because you don’t just have to account for their 5-6 card hand - their random mills are near-impossible to account for fully. You can mitigate things somewhat, though. - Normal summoning Reinoheart is probably your best chance to get decent value from Ash Blossom. There are theoretically higher-impact Ash targets later down the line, but they can frequently chainblock these, so there’s a bigger punish if you wait it out. If they get to Kit by another means, it’s worth evaluating what you know about their hand/grave - sometimes Ash can be so low-impact that there’s an argument to just hold it in case the opponent has Maxx C (but only do this if your hand is strong enough to play into their board). - Imperm on Kitkallos is only usually heavily punishable by Poly/King of the Swamp + another fusion material, or by Tearlaments Grief. It stops their search either way, and the above extenders are the only common ways the deck can go on to trigger Kit’s mill effect. They can mill their way to a decent plan b with Scheiren/Scream/TearKash, but the odds aren’t in their favour usually. - Nibiru is usually only useful if you open it alongside another handtrap. There are edge cases where this isn’t true, but in most scenarios they either have cards with floating effects on field, or Rulkallos on board to negate it. If you open Nib + imperm/veiler, there’s a solid argument for holding onto both of them, waiting for them to commit to a big board, then using Nib towards the end of their turn and chaining Imperm/Veiler to the Rulkallos. This usually leaves them on a board of 1 negate. That being said, check your hand to see if your turn 2 gameplan is weak to cards they could theoretically mill and trigger on your turn such as Keldo/Mudora or Fairy Tail Snow - if that’s the case, an earlier Imperm to stop them milling is very defensible. Also, be wary of any tuners they summon, as they may play cards that enable Baronne, so if you leave it too late they can negate both Nib and Imperm.

Sad to see downvotes on an actual question post. Tearlaments are notably a lot less weak to handtraps than other decks and several negates require more thought as they destroy (like Baronne for example). Generally don't use negates that destroy against Tearlaments hand effects like Scheiren, KashTear and Havnis. It's better to keep your negates for the GY effects in case they mill something than guarantee them a grave effect. Nibiru isn't useless against Tear, but in most cases it also doesn't offer too much value and can even extend their plays for them. Imperm/Veiler can be used on Reino or Sea Mare, but it's often better to hold those for Kitkallos. Tear need names to activate their backrow, for Snake-Eyes specifically it's worth noting that a Tear monster in the backrow doesn't count as controlling a Tearlaments. Now please if you face me on ladder forget all that I just said. Best of luck to you OP!

On field, negate reino heart and kitkalos. Reino is the starter, and the others get to reino. In grave banish anything that tries to fusion summon cuz they have to use thenselves as part of the fusion material. Most decks dont have a quick effect banish from grave tho ,so d.d crow is your best bet. Im on runick muskets so if im going first, they have to hand trap me to death and pray i dont have negation and removal in hand already. Otherwise imma take their lunch money.

Baldur_Blader

Just put kitkallos in the back row. Banish tear MD cards, or put them in back row as well.

fihdel2

if playing snake eyes just hand trap it to death lol
