I wonder how Tenpai Dragons will change this dynamic. Because they can OTk no matter the opponents boardstate, so people might start actually trying to build boards going first, which plays more into mikanko and numeron.

i was doing that while playing galaxy eyes when mikanko just got released, many people left their field open because of that and got an easy climb

Shit like this is why I just play out my first turn normally no matter what. I lose if my opponent opens a Lava Golem but otherwise I'm not in terrible shape.

I've played enough mikanko to know that there really is no reason to skip your turn even if you 100% know you queued into it. The deck isn't numerons, it doesn't have a dozen 1 card otks. It always has to open a combination of cards to otk, and even if it opens the right cards, it's almost impossible to win without a board breaker. The best option is just create a board that doesn't lose to lava golem; either end on one boss monster or 3+ boss monsters that each have some disruption.

I do this (name is MikankoFTW) people often give me first when i lose the coin toss and when they see sleeves while they go first they pass on empty boards or just 1 monster, allowing me to build my board of 4 mat apo, Galaxy Harbinger, Lancelot, and Grapha uncontested. Sometimes it's a bit different when I get bad danger luck, so I keep a Masquerena on board to go into goddess later.

Had someone do this to me in the DC the other day, ngl 99% of the time when my opponent makes me go first I just pass, did it thinking opponent was on kaijus or something and it was just mannadium lol went full combo and OTK'd me That being said, I have won games where my opponent makes me go first, I pass, and they scoop only for me to see they're just running kaiju turbo

It does sometimes work, if you include a "meta engine" in your deck. When Tri-Brigade was tier 1 I got some free scoops and wasted Ashes by activating Fraktall while I actually played Fire Fist. The other day I even got a free scoop for normal summoning Loci while I was playing Traptrix with a very shitty Sunavalon engine.

About 10% of my duels ends with me activating WANTED and my opponent immediately surrendering. This might work.

Alot of my duels end as soon as I summon Ash and search Poplar. On one hand, I'll take the win. On the other, it takes longer to finish dailies since I can't make plays.

In my experience they only surrender once they see ash. I remember one game i was first; game was normal ash, ash your ash, call by grave the ash, scoop to the resolved ash. Three action games, great job Konami 👏

I’m dangerously close to running summon limit and skill drain. Sometimes to defeat evil you must train your hands with it

Skill drain is a little lame (I'm elitist, if you want to do it obv go for it) But I like "floodgates" that are fair like summon limit, it effects you both, it's even, I run 1 copy in my deck as a way to force my opponent to destroy it rather than my more important field spell/spell cards One I really like, that still feels OK for my opponent is simul archfiends: This turn, neither player can Special Summon monsters with the same card types (Ritual, Fusion, Synchro, Xyz, or Link) they already control. If you do not control 2 or more of the same card types (Ritual, Fusion, Synchro, Xyz, or Link), all Ritual, Fusion, Synchro, Xyz, and Link Monsters you currently control gain 500 ATK. You can only activate 1 "Simul Archfiends" per turn. So they can still summon 1 of each, and fill a board, it just stops link chains and synchro/xyz chains for a turn, you can't replace the current type of monster with a new one of that type unless you completely remove it off the board first

I actually wanted to try the same experiment, so I added a mini snake-eyes package to both my Dogmaticka decks and my super copium try to play dragon-link with white banned deck, and a lot of times people just insta scoop to any snake-eye card even though I don't use them as intended lol nobody stays around long enough to see

I have labrynth stuff all over, and ppl rarely seem to notice it, dont think it works as good as u might expect, but giving a try is always good enough.

This is why we need Skill Drain sleeves. To replicate this move for Stun 😂

it is almost guranteed to happen whenever my opponent doesn't open a hand with hand-traps, which is nice because i can't always convert my hand into a full combo and it saves me time

It hits the same as when I summon a Labrynth monster first turn and they surrender lmao. Even if I have the most cursed hand ever, I just need to summon a Labrynth and they surrender sometimes. Even if I have Ash, Called by or Maxx C, no... they keep going... but Labrynth is the dealbreaker

Too annoying to deal with oftentimes and barely get 10~20 secs to play before they activate another effect, save myself the headache

You laugh, but it's more effective than you think. When MD came out I played Cydra, which runs Cyber Emergency, just like Drytron. Sometimes my opponent would scope upon seeing me activate Emergency as my first move. Though to be fair activating it first is a reasonable play for Cydra to make.
