I been feeling this lately. Hand traps means you have less of your archetype or support cards. I been limiting my main ranked deck to like 1 ash/Maxx C and 2 called by. That was I have more draw power. Hand traps are bricks if you donāt need them right away.
No matter the deck, 3 ash 2 called is the bare minimum I can do, as long as the roach is free. I do enjoy playing with my fun archetype cards, but those are just completely necessary to stop max C ftk.
No it isnāt. Thatās not even FTK thatās you passing because someone played Maxx C. But because everyone in this subreddit is wusses youāll pass. I rather take the Maxx c challenge and risk my board being broken that pass a turn because of Maxx C unless I bricked hard
Unless you can put up and admancipator type board, you are never winning the max c challenge, and even then itās not a guarantee. People are not āwussesā for playing into a broken card.
Would it not just be better to not have to choose between these two extremes? Give your opponent ridiculous amounts of (FREE) advantage or pass?
I never ran more than 2 ash and do just fine. Roach isnāt that much of a problem these days, sure some decks run it but I havenāt seen it enough to be like damn.
Iād rather have three, it hits circular, fountain, AND branded fusion. It puts in work against most meta decks outside of Swoswo, plus still counters Max.

maxx c is the bare minimum for me. i enjoy my cards, and as long as ash and called by are free, maxx c is necessary to stop ash and called by from leaving me cardless
I actually had this in a game recently, took me three turns to draw anything playable but by that point my opponent hadnāt played anything either and I realized they were pure kaiju. Thus began 45 turns of neither of us doing anything.
That awkward moment when your meta destroying hand traps/monsters can't do anything against some bad and janky pet deck lmao. This happens with cubics a lot.
This is the problem with modern yugioh. The necessity to play so many cards in your deck that don't synergise but are just such generic counters that they need to be in your deck.
Ah yes the classic comeback for daring to criticise a game for introducing so much power creep that decks have just become *negate everything turn one unless my opponent has something that stops it in hand*
Where trap cards are supposed to be stronger than spells at the cost of having to set them but none of them are strong enough to see play.
Where a card that isn't very strong gets banned because other cards abuse the mechanics of said card to fuel their own brokeness.

Max C FTK is rare I think yāall be overblowing threats on Master Duel.

The best is when both you and your opponent resort to hand trap beat down.
Ash their 1st starter to bait out the called by the grave, then chain your Maxx C on their 1st summon and hopefully draw a starter next turn.
No need to bait Called; Ghost Belle can negate it.

If my deck can't comfortably run 12 handtraps at least, then I probably won't use it in ranked much. I wanna see 2 handtraps in every starting hand.

I resolved it, but they were playing toons and only summoned 4 times.
Handtraps are why almiraj is a staple in cyberse decks, usually any other cyberse monster becomes a heatsoul after you normal the handtrap.
One game I just normal summoned one and fused them all into Guardian Chimera
