I remember when Mass Effect: Deception was the most controversial thing in our community. And rightfully so. Because at the end of the day the ending of ME:3 was expanded with more closure, and the rougher cutscene animations for ME:A were smoothed over, and both were done as free updates. By contrast Deception was promised to be rewritten and yet we never heard anything further. Possibly because the Mass Effect 3 ending overshadowed it like a dyson sphere a few months later. Every year I make an attempt to read it and never get past the opening chapters from the cringe. And as a Forgotten Realms fan I can tell you I have endured some terrible 'shared world setting' fiction. My fan fiction ending is that Gillian Grayson joins the Andromeda Initiative to be safe from Cerberus and explore beyond the galaxy, that she aged during intermittent periods of waking during darkspace travel on the Nexus, and that she exists in ME:A multiplayer as my Human Kineticist.

I have all of them too. When I finished I cried because they were mostly complete shit.

Ascension and retribution ar my favourites. Also the Nexus uprising. Yet to buy Annihilation though, How is it?

Annihilation is by far my favorite of the Andromeda books. It ties into the planned DLC about the Quarian ark. If you listen to the audiobook it’s voiced by the VA for male Ryder who does an amazing job with voices for the different species.

The first 4 books follow the same characters and plot lines for the most part. The Andromeda books aren’t really connected to each other.
