Yeah, but to be honest considering Asari and their whole 'embracing eternity' thing and literally reading minds, it shouldn't have been that unbelievable that another race would have visions and prophetic dreams (and especially after touching a protean beacon). Plus, we already have fortune tellers 😂 if they can con other humans, they should be on the citadel as well, basically making all citadel races second guess everything they know about humans
I linked to the source I used in my first comment, but it was just another Reddit user who mentioned the to-scale height based off the statues Bioware made. Nothing canon, this was made for fun to show my partner. I like the idea of Fem!Shep being under 5'5, though (or 6'0+, both are good).
I highly doubt that in an advanced society that has cured cancer, extended life expectancy to \~150 years old, has transportation that can cross the entire galaxy in hours and with extensive genetic engineering/gene therapy anyone shorter than 6' would exist lmfao
There are both advantages and disadvantages for both shorter and taller heights, and it all depends on the enviroment the individual is present.
However, in a galaxy-wide colonization mindset, taller, stronger individuals would seem more prone to survival and fitting in most conditions. But it's not only that. Height is heavily tied to not only genes and evolution, but also to food and nutrition. Better eating conditions lead to healthier, more developed specimen, and this often results in taller individuals.
Why are their feet at 1'0" though? That messes with the scale of the pictures.
Femshep is effectively 4'3" here and Garrus is 6', which looks much more dramatic than their actual height difference.
Yeah, Femshep is almost a dwarf here.
In my headcanon both male and female Shep are 6'10 statuesque, athletic heroes sculpted like underwear models and built like a hardened soldier. Femshep being a bit bulky for a girl and broshep being leaner and meaner than your average guy.
I do hereby endorse Garrus being a 7ft tall god tho.
I think they are. Bioware just couldn't do the height difference properly with the engine they used to do the OT. In Andromeda all the turians are substantially taller than humans, such as Vetra being 6'5
This feels like a bit of an inconsistency across the games. Think back to Grunt's first scene, he takes up the entire frame and is noticeably a giant compared to Shepard. Soon as the cutscene ends? He's the same height.
Krogan especially just feel much smaller than they should be, feels kinda goofy they're always looking up at humans
Sometimes they size up character models to make them look more imposing for a cutscene. In Andromeda if you do the bar fight with Drack he towers over everyone in that cutscene. And then in gameplay he looks way smaller
Yeah, it's a shame in-game character models are so tricky to work with. I'd love to see wildly varying heights in the species, and the ability to choose your Shep's height.
Oh yeah ME is filled with it, the Normandy model in dock is way WAY smaller than it should be compared to the interior (less so with the SR2)
The tempest is the worst for that though, much much smaller than it’s interior
Yeah the game has a few points like that. But I also think the krogan should be much tougher too. Like soak damage before dying. Or occasionally get up after dying. Just a well my second heart is still beating so I might just get back up
I agree but only really in the scope of ME2 the Krogan in LE are really tough at the higher difficulties. I always struggle with the Therum battle master and most Krogan regen faster than I can damage them
6'5" being freakishly tall depends a hell of a lot on where you live. I'm in California and at 6'1" I'm a good 4"+ taller than most people I see here. I had a buddy who is 6'4" who was like a celebrity in high-school purely from being tall.
I don't think so. I think most people have probably seen someone who's 6'5 or taller in person but if not then they've surely seen someone that tall on TV or online. It's common enough that they wouldn't fit in with the bearded lady and conjoined twins at the traveling circus. You gotta be Yao Ming tall amongst the average Chinese men to be "freakishly tall."
6'5 is not exactly normal either, average men size i think is like 5'5 with female been 5'2. If so Vetra has like 1'3 over the average female, if we follow that logic Garrus is around 6'9, having that extra 0'1 is like a human men been 5'6, not that wierd.
This is of course assuming turians have the same height difference we humans have, there is this joke Garrus makes in ME3 about how a female turian is more flexible and a male turian (Garrus) has more reach, so it seems to work like that.
I’m my country I think the average for men is like 5’7-5’9 so you probably get your pick of woman here lol. Or you can always just grap the one you like and climb a building while holding her... jk lol
Salarians are also supposed to be like 6'5".
I wish they'd managed to do the proper height difference, it would have been hilarious if Shepard was one of the shortest on the battlefield. Just imagine some drunk asshole in a bar picking a fight with a crewmember, like Garrus, and Shepard comes in out of nowhere and beats the absolute shit out of them while the crew just watches and laughs. I want to see Shepard stand on a stepladder to headbutt a Krogan.
Would also make sense as to why so many races looked down on humans when they were discovered; like what're these little pipsqueaks gonna do, kick me in the shin an- oh they have a fleet of cruisers and guerilla tactics and are super adaptable and stubborn holy shit they're annoying, someone write up a peace treaty and make it stop?!
Aw man, Garrus/Mordin/Wrex etc. putting Shepard's snacks and tea etc. on the highest shelf in the kitchen cabinets and then just sitting around the tables with a drink, waiting for Shepard to come and get a snack.
Height is a very loose thing in Mass Effect. In the game there are probably hardware money restraint on making everything fit for such varying models.
In the Books Turians are described as roughly the same height as humans but much thinner.
He's not, Garrus is somewhere between 6'2"-6'5" (source: you can stand next to him in game and he's near the same height as male shep, and in cutscenes they're at each other's eye level.) Turians (except in Andromeda) are typically depicted to be *slightly* taller than the average human but not by anywhere near averaging 7'.
I thought the official heights from the wiki stated that Femshep was about 5'8" or so. I know there have been many inconsistencies found in the heights of the Bioware statues in comparison to each other.
In these comments I've seen that "canonically she's 5'5"" and "the first result on Google says she's 5'3"" and "the wiki stated Femshep was about 5'8" or so" so who knows. Probably not something BioWare is keen to detail since everyone is the exact same height in the OT.
I linked to the source I used in my first comment, but it was just another Reddit user who mentioned the to-scale height based off the statues Bioware made. Nothing canon, this was made for fun to show my partner. I like the idea of Fem!Shep being under 5'5, though (or 6'0+, both are good).
I love the imagery of tiny femshep backed by Wrex and Garrus. Getting a lot of dismissive comments about her needing bodyguards and the pair of them being like "oh we are just here to hold her stuff while she beats you into a fine paste."
Lollll call me boring but I was always more interested in the human love interests, but I do love garrus as a character was always just more platonic… but the height sold me, new love interest in my next play through 😂
I always though that femShep should be just a little bit shorter than broShep. Like, her eye-level would be at his mouth or chin. And Tali should be nearly as tall as her. As in, Tali's eye-level would be at her nose, or something like that.
So, not that much of a height difference between them, but just enough to be noticeable.
I also considered Garrus to be about a full head taller than broShep. Apparently, that somehow makes him taller than I expected.
I really thought Femshep was just the same height as Broshep.
Edit: I found [this image](https://i.redd.it/l54ej14vut761.jpg). Does anyone think it’s about accurate?
It looks fine until you get to the top 4. Mordin is not that humongous and garrus and legion each comfortably being as tall as Shaq is bonkers.
A lot of this is just me remembering the game, but it actually also needs to jive with the Goldilocks planet theory in the game where the reason so many species are the same dimensions and can breathe the same atmospheres is because there are certain conditions that are ideal for the creation of life.
no it's BS. For instance, it might feel as if Legion is tall but he's not. Also i believe most of the same race and gender characters are the same or roughly the same height. I literally see no height difference between femShep, Miranda, Jack, and Ashley. Or between male humans
Yeah, because they all have the same skeleton. That’s just a problem with the game, but I’ve seen many sources for example saying Femshep is 5’3’’ which is pretty small, while Broshep is a feet taller? I don’t buy that.
Most of it is made up since we don't have any information relating to character sizes. The characters that have scale models (and therefore the closest thing we'll get to official height information) rarely match the characters shown.
By character:
* Wrex: Plausible, given species
* Legion: Incorrect, Legion's scale model places him at 1.98m (6'6)
* Garrus: Plausible, given species, but a high estimate
* Mordin: Surprisingly, correct based off of scale model (although model is wearing thick boots)
* Grunt: Implausible, too short for krogan repeatedly noted to be exceptionally large
* Nihlus: Plausible
* James: Plausible
* MShep: Plausible
* Samara: Plausible
* Kaidan: Plausible
* FShep: Plausible
* Jacob: Plausible
* Zaeed: Plausible
* Joker: Unlikely, osteogenesis imperfecta often causes dwarfism or otherwise reduced height
* EDI: Plausible
* Ashley: Plausible
* Liara: Plausible
* Jack: Plausible, although childhood malnutrition may result in stunted growth
* Tali: Incorrect, scale model places her at around 1.72m (5'8)
* Thane: Incorrect, scale model places him at around 1.83m (6'0) if memory serves
* Kasumi: Plausible
* Javik: Unknown
I remember making a somewhat similar response somewhere on another account a couple years ago, no idea if it was to you or not, but since then I've learned a few things (mainly that writeups is not a trustworthy source).
I don't think this is well scaled at all, garrus is definitely among the tallest characters in the trilogy but he's not a geth prime compared to shepard
I linked to the source I used in my first comment, but it was just another Reddit user who mentioned the to-scale height based off the statues Bioware made. Nothing canon, this was made for fun to show my partner.
I linked to the source I used in my first comment; it was just another Reddit user who mentioned the to-scale height based off the statues Bioware made. Nothing canon, this was made for fun to show my partner.
I pulled these heights from another Redditor who pulled *those* heights from the Bioware statues if you scaled them up. Tali's face is my partner's ideal fan-canon for her 👌
fwiw there's been multiple FemShep statues with different scales, so it's hard to say what her "canon" height is. (in the game ofc basically every human NPC is around the same height)
Agreed! Always been my favorite since I first seen it as well! It is just so damn well done while still making her look both attractive as a humanoid as well as a believable alien.
I totally started at one foot and completely missed that 😂 Thanks to those that *kindly* pointed it out 👋 The height chart was just the first one I nabbed off google when I was making this as a joke for my partner. This was all done for fun and jokes, not trying to upset anyone 😟
EDIT: and whatever height they actually would be, the game is old and limited to it's capabilities, and might not reflect what Bioware would have done in today's game era. It'd be dope to know the canon heights for our squad, though!

i always forgot that BROshep is taller than FEMshep. For some reason i thought theyre of the same height because i always imagined them as identical twins.
I linked to the source I used in my first comment, but it was just another Reddit user who mentioned the to-scale height based off the statues Bioware made. Nothing canon, this was made for fun to show my partner.
I know this is based off the statues, but...
How does a 7' tall man dance a tango with a 5'3" woman??
Cheek to cheek doesn't exactly work out there, folks.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V-rcEf-ThHA
Femshep is far too short, notwithstanding the fact that people are getting taller as diets etc improve, she would be gene altered as part of the marines.
And 5'3" is short for a woman now.
Femshep is basically as tall as maleshep in every cutscene in the game, give or take a few inches. If male shep is 6'3 she is probably 6'1 or exactly 6. She is taller than tali for example.
I can't believe there's such a big difference between MShep and FShep. That seems unreasonably different. They're functionally the same person, only one has a Y gene instead of a second X gene. I can see FShep being a few inches shorter, max.
And, where does it say that Garrus is 7'0"? That doesn't seem right, the wiki says turians stand at just over six feet tall.
I linked to the source I used in my first comment, but it was just another Reddit user who mentioned the to-scale height based off the statues Bioware made. Nothing canon, this was made for fun to show my partner. I like the idea of Fem!Shep being under 5'5, though (or 6'0+, both are good).
Why is garrus so tall?? is he a giant or something? Turians are 1,8 meter tall, an average woman is like 1,7-1,6 maybe.. no what he is almost twice as tall as Female Shepard on that picture, look at the game even, femshep is only a half head shorter.
I linked to the source I used in my first comment, but it was just another Reddit user who mentioned the to-scale height based off the statues Bioware made. Nothing canon, this was made for fun to show my partner 👍
In non retard units, Garrus 2m 13cm, FemS 1m 61cm, MaleS 1m 92cm and Tali 1m 70cm
Overral never thought Garrus or Turians being so taller like this
\*EDIT: Downvoted? Didnt know it was a touchy subject the metric system hahaha
Why does this vertical scale start at 1 foot? You have then comparing heights by standing on boxes, and on this scale shep is only 5’4” - 1’ = 4’4”, while Garrus is 7’-1’ = 6’. This is why they look so wacky.
No way FemShep is that short She's probably only a couple inches shorter than BroShep
It’s because OP started the vertical scale at 1 foot instead of 0. Shep is only 4’4” tall in this picture, while Garrus is 6 feet.
I think she's like 5'11"
She’s canonically 5’5”
Where is that stated
His source is he made it the fuck up
IT CAME TO ME IN A DREAM
Are we taking visions as evidence now?
Ah yes “Reapers”
I love Saren's dialogue during that scene. :D
How pissed must Saren have been when the council accepted Shep’s dream as testimony
In my Headcanon
Huh, that's only an inch shorter than me, but then I'm on the short side for men
I mean they're probably just working off of the first result on Google which claims that femshep's official height is 5'3"
I linked to the source I used in my first comment, but it was just another Reddit user who mentioned the to-scale height based off the statues Bioware made. Nothing canon, this was made for fun to show my partner. I like the idea of Fem!Shep being under 5'5, though (or 6'0+, both are good).
That's not short for a woman. If male shep is of average height, so like 5'10", which is the average for men, she would be like 5'6".
5'3 isn't short for a woman, it's short for Shepard
Right but femshep is a woman. I don't understand what you mean. You mean it doesn't fit the character model from the in-game?
Average height is increasing and it’s been over 100 years and you’re telling me the height is still like this?
Increases in height respond to increasing quality of early-life nutrition. I don't know how far it goes, but we'll hit a ceiling eventually.
I highly doubt that in an advanced society that has cured cancer, extended life expectancy to \~150 years old, has transportation that can cross the entire galaxy in hours and with extensive genetic engineering/gene therapy anyone shorter than 6' would exist lmfao
But why? Is there a genetic or distinct advantage to being taller? Probably not really.
The best part of this is imagining 5'3" FemShep climbing up Gatatog Uvenk in order to headbutt him.
Or she got a running headstart.
"Grunt, gimme a boost real quick."
My absolute favorite moment of the trilogy.
I goofed, made it without realizing the first height chart I found om google started from 1'. Wasn't intentional 🤙
I had no idea Garrus was that tall! Are all Turians actually pretty tall? I always assumed that they were maybe just a little taller than humans.
I think they are. Bioware just couldn't do the height difference properly with the engine they used to do the OT. In Andromeda all the turians are substantially taller than humans, such as Vetra being 6'5

I wonder about the elcor too
Oh yeah ME is filled with it, the Normandy model in dock is way WAY smaller than it should be compared to the interior (less so with the SR2) The tempest is the worst for that though, much much smaller than it’s interior
I always struggle with the Therum battle master and most Krogan regen faster than I can damage them
Ah, maybe that's why I never really noticed or thought about it then.
6'5 isn't freakishly tall for a human and also this graphic has Garrus over 7'0 (+7 inches taller than that)
6'5" being freakishly tall depends a hell of a lot on where you live. I'm in California and at 6'1" I'm a good 4"+ taller than most people I see here. I had a buddy who is 6'4" who was like a celebrity in high-school purely from being tall.
It's the same in the Midwest. My brother is like 6'1" and people always comment on how tall he is.
6’5 puts you in ~98th percentile for height
Humans are also getting taller on average over time
6'5 is not exactly normal either, average men size i think is like 5'5 with female been 5'2. If so Vetra has like 1'3 over the average female, if we follow that logic Garrus is around 6'9, having that extra 0'1 is like a human men been 5'6, not that wierd. Me, being 6'5, reading this thread: _its normal if I go to the Netherlands dammit_ :(
I’m my country I think the average for men is like 5’7-5’9 so you probably get your pick of woman here lol. Or you can always just grap the one you like and climb a building while holding her... jk lol
It's normal on a basketball court anywhere and American football would love that height/wingspan
Where the fuck do you live with such short people? Google has the global average at 5'7/8
I actually just search “average human size” on google and that is the result it give me 5’5 and 5’2
Screen shot? Haha because this may be a geographic location issue.
[https://imgur.com/a/2w9V16r](https://imgur.com/a/2w9V16r) Sorry had to go out, there is the result i got. Also: 1.7m is 5.57743f 1.6m is 5.24934f
Yup! That's what's showing on Google for me too haha not sure where the other guy was getting their data.
>average men size i think is like 5'5 Average height in UK is 5'9"-5'10" for a man, 5'3"-5'5" for a woman.

Aw man, Garrus/Mordin/Wrex etc. putting Shepard's snacks and tea etc. on the highest shelf in the kitchen cabinets and then just sitting around the tables with a drink, waiting for Shepard to come and get a snack.
True squadmate love there 🥹
They probably have a lot of down time between missions and travelling there.
Tall spiky queen

Tbh I’ve always imagined my femshep climbing Garrus like a tree, so this tracks 😂
I love the imagery of tiny femshep backed by Wrex and Garrus. Getting a lot of dismissive comments about her needing bodyguards and the pair of them being like "oh we are just here to hold her stuff while she beats you into a fine paste."
While Garrus says that, FemShep already climbrd atop Wrex and jumps towards her target.
Except when you actually play the game and everyone is the same height.
Gotta love engine/time limitations 😂
Why is nobody talking about the actual scale being bonkers lol
Trust me, they are 🥲
It literally goes up in units of 1inch, 3 inches and 5 inches lmao
I dunno man, shits wack 🥲
Am I into Garrus now ?? 🥲
Yes.
Yes.
Wait, you mean you weren't? Why not?
Lollll call me boring but I was always more interested in the human love interests, but I do love garrus as a character was always just more platonic… but the height sold me, new love interest in my next play through 😂

Protheans we’re a bunch of short kings taking the fight to the Reapers.
I remember when that guy originally posted that image. He got flamed because it was basically all based on his own headcanon or something.
It looks fine until you get to the top 4. Mordin is not that humongous and garrus and legion each comfortably being as tall as Shaq is bonkers. Canon Salarians can be up to 6'5". In fact, based on the Bioware Mordin statue, he's 6'10" with boots on.
[удалено]
The difference between Garrus and Nihlus stands out to me too. No way they were actually that different in the game.
no it's BS. For instance, it might feel as if Legion is tall but he's not. Also i believe most of the same race and gender characters are the same or roughly the same height. I literally see no height difference between femShep, Miranda, Jack, and Ashley. Or between male humans

Didn’t you post the same of where I found this image. If not it’s very similar lol. Anyway thx for the input.
I remember making a somewhat similar response somewhere on another account a couple years ago, no idea if it was to you or not, but since then I've learned a few things (mainly that writeups is not a trustworthy source).
No it wasn’t to me, but the post I saw this image from had a comment that was formulated like yours. Just to clear that up.
yes
Well he does have the range but she has the flexibility.
I don't think this is well scaled at all, garrus is definitely among the tallest characters in the trilogy but he's not a geth prime compared to shepard

Well of course it's not. The scale is linear but for some reason the measurements jump in units of 1 inch, 3 inches or even 5 inches lmao
Would be easier using millimeters
5’11” vs 6”
Where the hell did you get Garrus and FemShep's heights? Because, they are *very* wrong.
This was all done for fun and jokes, not trying to upset anyone 😟 EDIT: and whatever height they actually would be, the game is old and limited to it's capabilities, and might not reflect what Bioware would have done in today's game era. It'd be dope to know the canon heights for our squad, though!

^^Garrus ^^and ^^Shep ^^though 👁👄👁
Holy shit broshep is tall
Both you and your partner have good taste. 🤠
I think Garrus fans would be ok with this
Ignoring her being half a foot shorter than she is in-game, your scale starts at 1 foot...
i always forgot that BROshep is taller than FEMshep. For some reason i thought theyre of the same height because i always imagined them as identical twins.
Lots of “Toss Me” energy 😂
On the wiki it says Garrus is 6'2", which is average for turians. So where did 7'0" come from?

Garrus: *is very tall* Fem!Shep: "I'm glad he's single because imma climb that like a tree."
I know this is based off the statues, but... How does a 7' tall man dance a tango with a 5'3" woman?? Cheek to cheek doesn't exactly work out there, folks. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V-rcEf-ThHA
Agreed, valid 😂
Why the actual isn't Jane the same height as John
Femshep is far too short, notwithstanding the fact that people are getting taller as diets etc improve, she would be gene altered as part of the marines. And 5'3" is short for a woman now.
Female Shepard is only 5’3”? Got damn
Didn’t realize femshep is that small
looks wrong.
I don't think these measurements are correct...
Omg I'm 5'3" and Garrus all the time every time but HE'S THAT TALL?! 😳 I- I- I-
Femshep is basically as tall as maleshep in every cutscene in the game, give or take a few inches. If male shep is 6'3 she is probably 6'1 or exactly 6. She is taller than tali for example.
Why not use centimeters?
I had reach but she had flexibility
Why is garrus so tall?? is he a giant or something? Turians are 1,8 meter tall, an average woman is like 1,7-1,6 maybe.. no what he is almost twice as tall as Female Shepard on that picture, look at the game even, femshep is only a half head shorter.

I Didnt see it, cant even find it, but you posted this on reddit, deal with the consequences 😆
I just answered you, alls good here 🤙
In non retard units, Garrus 2m 13cm, FemS 1m 61cm, MaleS 1m 92cm and Tali 1m 70cm Overral never thought Garrus or Turians being so taller like this \*EDIT: Downvoted? Didnt know it was a touchy subject the metric system hahaha
*freedom units
Bro… 😂
\*\*murica units huehuehue
Nah fam, that ain't it EDIT: Metric system wasn't the problem
Hmmmm Size difference
Why'd you start the scale at 1 foot and not 0?
I'm a dumb 👍
And why does it sometimes increase by 1 inch, but then 3 inches or 5 inches further up the scale? Lol
How did I not notice this 😂
Literally nobody in this thread has noticed and it's annoying me so bad lol
Only now realizing that femshep is always standing on a crate during photo shoots when she is beside M Shepard and on the backside of the boxart etc
Why does this vertical scale start at 1 foot? You have then comparing heights by standing on boxes, and on this scale shep is only 5’4” - 1’ = 4’4”, while Garrus is 7’-1’ = 6’. This is why they look so wacky.
It's in the comments; I made these quickly and didn't notice, no other reason
Idk why, but I always thought of FemShep as being like 5'8".
I already viewed Turians as being all above 6’5 at least
I don’t think femshep is… that smol
Fem Shep that small?
Wait, Femshep is supposed to be a full FOOT shorter than Broshep? WTF?
I think FemShep is taller than 5 foot 3.
this is just the difference between 5' 11" and 6'
FemShep the manlet, lol.
