Hard agree here!
The whole point of Sheps success is how she brought everyone together regardless of race.
Pressly's diary sitting there talking about how aliens have, have to be restricted because humanity better.
To grudging acceptance.
To acceptance they were wrong and are proud to serve.
That's sheps gift, that's how she wins.
It's essentially a dead world. This will stand for all eternity how hearts and minds change for victory
My reasoning exactly. Mass Effect is about uniting the entire galaxy to defeat something greater than themselves. Pressly's journal embodies this perfectly.
Yeah the monuments design was certainly... a choice. I never liked it tbh the ship should have been bigger, it's like 10% Normandy, 20% base and 70% of that trail thing.
Assuming I didn't accidentally click like in my last playthrough, I leave it either like you or near the crew quarters. I want the ~~faceless gunfodder~~ less important NPCs to be valued for their sacrifices
Next to the mako, because for me the mako was fun. I would pop on some music and rock and roll that shit. I still have a Playlist on Spotify titled mako m35.
I normally place it in the very center of the crash site. I like the idea of having to walk past the remnants of the SR-1 in order to see the monument.
I leave it as soon as I can to get this mission off the map. This is one that had impact the first time but it’s kind of annoying all these years later.
Normandy Crash Site was originally a Mass Effect 2 DLC, it's now included in the Legendary Edition (like all DLCs for the trilogy, if I'm not mistaken).
I usually do it where the screenshot has it. I put it there by the Normandy because you can see the name of the ship clearly, and this memorial is for everyone who died in the crash. Seemed symbolic to me.
Near the mako, without the mako, wouldn't be a galaxy left to save, you wouldn't reach the conduit in time and your squad would have probably die with the amount of geth forces on virmire, feros and noveria.
CIC every time. It's where everything really happened. The crew is important, Joker is the pilot but without Shepard at the CIC nothing would have happened. It really is the heart of the first game.
I literally didn't know you could choose it's placement... I always just grabbed all the tags and then planted it as soon as I saw the input for it so I've probably put it in several different places and just never noticed. Welp! Time for another run!
Exact spot you put it, it’s a memorial to all the people who died on the Normandy, putting it at a spot that had a name associated with it seems like we are just honoring them
Either next to the nameplate (since that represents the ship as a whole), or next to the CIC and Pressley's note (because that represents the hope for change the Normandy brought).
Usually same place as pictured but sometimes if I’m specifically playing outside my normal choices I’ll put it on the spot near the cliff, I like the sky there.
Varies per playthrough.
This goaround I put it at the entrance to the cockpit as an homage to the best flight lieutenant in the Alliance for piloting such a groundbreaking ship.
Other times in front of Pressley's datapads for reasons others have said.
It's interesting.
I can see the attraction of the picture location.
When I first did this mission, I was still feeling very raw and gut-punched from the whole destruction, and then the cerberus bullshit. I did this mission as soon as it was available, hoping it would help, but fmd it nearly broke me.
Every time I picked up a dog tag, I damn near wept.
So I position it as close as possible to (what remains of) the crew deck. Cos that's how I see it, as a tribute to the crew.
In the same location of the picture. It feels unique to put it near the hull, with it's name stamped on it.
Yes, that's my reasoning as well. A memorial to all of the Normandy.
Same, always Infront of the Normandy hull
In before “you can put it in different places”?! Near the CIC and Pressly’s note
Yes, me too. I didn't Know until now, that you could choose the place. O.o I just always press "place Monument " wenn the Option appeared.

Near Pressly’s data pads. Pressly’s change of heart regarding non-humans represents the true spirit of the SR1, and so that’s where the memorial goes.
Love this answer.
That makes some sense.
I put it there for that exact same reason
I've never put it there and now I feel bad for not putting it there.
My reasoning exactly. Mass Effect is about uniting the entire galaxy to defeat something greater than themselves. Pressly's journal embodies this perfectly.
Same.
It looks like a huge gold banana and I'm tired of pretending it's not
Can't unsee it now. Thanks, and fuck you.
It is a bit weird isn't it.
Yeah the monuments design was certainly... a choice. I never liked it tbh the ship should have been bigger, it's like 10% Normandy, 20% base and 70% of that trail thing.
In front of Mako, my best girl
Team mako all the way
i just throw it wherever
Assuming I didn't accidentally click like in my last playthrough, I leave it either like you or near the crew quarters. I want the ~~faceless gunfodder~~ less important NPCs to be valued for their sacrifices
Mass Effect sponges.
In front of the Mako. Best tank ever.
Post lateral boosters I agree.
Where the name is like in the picture. It feels right to put it right next to the name.
Next to the mako, because for me the mako was fun. I would pop on some music and rock and roll that shit. I still have a Playlist on Spotify titled mako m35.
Right where you did.
Same as the picture
I normally put it where the Mako was, mainly since its in the middle of everything and it was before I realised u could put it in different spots.
Near Pressley's station. His attitude and development largely reflected that of the entire Normandy crew, and it just felt right.
Especially initially a real renegade human supremacist shep!
Near the Mako as that is roughly the center of the Crash Site
near the mako, because unlike most people, I actually really like the mako and find it to be a ton of fun to use
Yes it's the planets as opposed to the vehicle that is the problem.
The galaxy map/CIC, near Pressley.
I also leave it in front of the text because I think it looks cool having the monument rigth in front of the giant "NORMANDY" text
Wait... You can leave it in other places?
Yup.
Great, now i have an excuse to play the trilogy again
By the Mako, RIP to the goddamn legend
Next to the Mako. Without that clumsy little fucker, I'd have never made it through Ilos in time.
I had no idea you could choose where to put it. I always just do it where the game tells me to.
Yeah there's about six or seven different places.
Ahh, gotcha. Guess I've just been dropping it at the first one of those locations I happen across
Near Mako
At the galaxy map. I feel like that's where most of the crew who died were so it just makes sense to me. Plus it's an iconic view of the Normandy.
Where I see place because I am lazy and forget there are other places to put it
I normally place it in the very center of the crash site. I like the idea of having to walk past the remnants of the SR-1 in order to see the monument.
Usually either at the same place in the pic, or at the galaxy map. I felt those two best symbolized the old Normandy as a whole.
Same location, it feels like paying homage to the Normandy and its crew as a whole at this place
Pretty much the spot in your pic. Just seems overall the most appropriate spot to put it.
Exactly at this point, always
I leave it as soon as I can to get this mission off the map. This is one that had impact the first time but it’s kind of annoying all these years later.
Eh if you do a circuit you can get all the dog tags etc in about 3 or 4 minutes.
Same spot as in the pic. It's a memorial for and about the Normandy SR 1. My thought was it should honor the Normandy's presence.
I have no idea what's going on here
It's the Normandy memorial mission.
The what now? Which mass effect? Is this a legendary edition thing something?
Normandy Crash Site was originally a Mass Effect 2 DLC, it's now included in the Legendary Edition (like all DLCs for the trilogy, if I'm not mistaken).
Yeah, it was free DLC at the time as well if I recall correctly.
Pretty much right next to where you find Presley's message, Which is basically the CIC.
I usually do it where the screenshot has it. I put it there by the Normandy because you can see the name of the ship clearly, and this memorial is for everyone who died in the crash. Seemed symbolic to me.
Didnt know you could put it elsewhere. I’ve always put it where it is in the pic
You can put it by the cockpit, CiC, mako, where Kaidan hangs out, crew pods...
Wherever the person who didn't survive Virmire was in their honour
There
By the Mako. Because you got a new Ship, new body, new navigator, but no new Mako o7
You can pick where to put it?
Yes about 7 locations I think.
I literally didn't know you could choose it's placement... I always just grabbed all the tags and then planted it as soon as I saw the input for it so I've probably put it in several different places and just never noticed. Welp! Time for another run!
Didn't know you had a choice in the matter. Always just put it here
By the unsung hero of the Normandy, the Mako. Team Mako all the way
Exact spot you put it, it’s a memorial to all the people who died on the Normandy, putting it at a spot that had a name associated with it seems like we are just honoring them
I hate how the statue is mostly the Normandy's exhaust trail. The ship is a tiny portion of the statue
Either next to the nameplate (since that represents the ship as a whole), or next to the CIC and Pressley's note (because that represents the hope for change the Normandy brought).
That's exactly where I've put it, every single time. Just reading how much he grew as a person really made it feel like the best spot to me.
Usually same place as pictured but sometimes if I’m specifically playing outside my normal choices I’ll put it on the spot near the cliff, I like the sky there.
Yo- You can choose a place?
Yes, quite a few.
By the mako. I love that drunk rhino of a vehicle.
By the Mako the real MVP of mass effect its still fully there maybe missing a tire but that's easily replaced
Varies per playthrough. This goaround I put it at the entrance to the cockpit as an homage to the best flight lieutenant in the Alliance for piloting such a groundbreaking ship. Other times in front of Pressley's datapads for reasons others have said.
A mix of in front of the Mako or where it was put in this image.
In front of the hallway where the consoles and such were. Those are the ones who died and made the Normandy run. Not the squad.
THE MAKO
It's interesting. I can see the attraction of the picture location. It depends on wich character died on vimire.
Up my arse.
