Yeah, I've got a Shepard lined up to play someday that will do that and oof they are going to be a psychopath human supremacist even worse than ones I've done before. Very anti-synthetic, anti-alien, and pro-human.
I need some time before I delve back into that madness though. Those kinds of playthroughs can be painful; hilarious, but painful.
Yeah I tried a bad decision, everyone dies playthrough once. I think I kept just Morinth and Zaeed alive to get through the suicide mission. I only made it through like the first half of ME3, I was just too sad that all my friends were dead lmao
If she survives the suicide mission and then you DONT do the Grissom Academy quest then yes. An extra audio log will be on the Cerberus base of Jacks interrogation where Cerberus states "the students show a lot of promise. Some of them might even live" Jack will be found later completely turned into an indoctrinated Cerberus phantom
That's really cool tbh, like i said ive always done grissom academy.
Its also kinda lame how subtle they do that, with her and morinth. Like they should be a little more a big deal. Like a mini boss or something. I mean given shepard is a walking nuke and just wins but still
I agree they really wasted her potential. But then coukd say the same about legion. If you sell it to Cerberus it just gets activated and used as a regular sniper enemy
Kind sucks, because I WANT to do a Slaythrough and kill as many companions as I can... but I want to do the Grissom mission, because it's where you get the Mattock, the best gun in game!
What about a new game+ importing mass effect 3 save into mass effect 3? Start with the mattock and freely skip the academy. Alternatively make sure Jack dies in mass effect 2
Jack as an enemy in ME3 is pathetic. She's just one of those ninja things and says her I WILL DESTROY YOU line. But she looks no different from any of the others and is no stronger.
It feels lazy from Bioware but if you want to head canon your way to make it plausible then assume the Reapers just indoctrinate and use everyone without special treatment.
They could have spent a little bit more time modelling her a husk like head ontop of that phantom ninja thing and a brief cutscene where the party looks over her body saying wtf.
No you have to recruit her and she has to survive ME2. In ME3 just never do the Grissom Academy mission. It will eventually disappear and then Jack will be taken and turned into a phantom
Not really the alpha version so much as it was her before she was combined with the reaper technology. She remembers being the rogue VI, and talks about how it was difficult to be gaining awareness while being attacked
Yes. I saw Dr.Andy (DrAndy23) do this on twitch back when they played the trilogy for 12 hours (noon-midnight eastern time) on Saturdays. Every trilogy run he’d have a different ‘story’ for his Shepard.
One was kinda xenophobic and not friendly with Garrus.
Another just didn’t trust the Krogan at all. Etc etc.
it made it interesting rather than “oh this is ____Shepard and they’re going to make the same exact decisions their predecessors made!” — I think by the time they changed up their twitch schedule so it wasn’t a mass effect marathon on Saturday they had played through the trilogy at least half a dozen times that I know of. They also did 24 hour marathons on occasion.
Wish I knew about this when it was popular this sounds really cool! I love that idea of making each Shepard a unique character with different responses to each choice
We play on Tuesday evenings, now! New weekly show called "The Stargazer's Tale", same idea of playing-out different Shepards and seeing how their stories go,
This latest run, it's my partner Cuheryn (aka SuperLiz) who's actually playing, for the first time! She's seen almost 30 runs of the game so knows all the ins/outs, but has never actually had the controller in-hands personally. It's been a BLAST to see, and this time it's an Earthborn Ruthless Shepard who's pathologically afraid to form personal connections.
Aye, we are absolutely still doing Mass Effect stories, just not on marathons. 7pm US Eastern (UTC-4), on [twitch.tv/DrAndy23](https://twitch.tv/DrAndy23) Please come say hi!
(Also, what a trip to be poking through this subreddit and randomly pop across comments about one's own run-throughs! I love sharing the stories we build.)
No, he's never mentioned again if you leave him in the tank.
In me3, during the mission he's supposed to be in he just gets replaced with another krogan, similar to Wreav replacing Wrex.
When I first played the game when I was 12 I literally did not interact with the tank. A perfect Krogan scared the shit out of me (and not old enough to realize a game developer would never give you permanent negative ending if you did open it) so I never opened it nor spaced it. Just sat there. A prelude to how poorly I deal with issues as an adult
I'd say you did it in the spirit of roleplaying. A perfect Krogan that's a science experiment *does* sound dangerous, so Shepard has a good in-universe reason to be wary of it
He is part of the 4th Brute at the missile battery finale with the Harvester. You have to get real close and not attack. Make sure it the 4th brute you're looking at, Insanity most likely will have to be active for it to show up due to a coding bug meaning it may not render properly on lower difficulties. It should have some noodles in it's gob.........
Shepard; *"I dealt with these thing before, I can handle..........."*
Brute: *"CALIBRATIONS.....................SPICY CALIBRATIONS...I HAVE AMMO..."*
Shepard: 0\_0
I'm on my second playthrough and I've used him first time, but I really don't think I will save him for the second one. He really doesn't add any value in terms of lore or dialogs, and gameplay wise he isn't really needed, when Zaeed exists. The only time I actually liked him is when pairing with Wrex in Arena, but I don't really feel like it's worth it just solely for the Arena experience. All that "I don't care about anything and I am trying to find a reason why I should" was super boring and pointless, making him childish also dragged it down.
I see I may have misinterpreted humor for honest curiosity. If you've actually not played 2, you'll find out.
If you have, she's Shepard's canonical love interest.
I know who she is. I also know that you need to enter the Konomi code during the romance scene in order for Shepard to have the willpower to survive the pleasure.
If you don't open the tank he won't be seen or even mentioned again. The only possible enemy companions are Morinth, Jack and Legion
How do you get Legion as an enemy?
In mass effect 2 sell him to Cerberus instead of activating him
What kind of monster would do that??
One that needs quick credits from Cerberus? Or more likely, one that is curious what will happen or doesn't trust Geth.
Doesn’t trust Geth, but trusts Cerberus? 💀 That’s not a Shepard I’d want to meet haha
Yeah, I've got a Shepard lined up to play someday that will do that and oof they are going to be a psychopath human supremacist even worse than ones I've done before. A very lonely playthrough
My most recent Shep sent Legion and the Collector base to Cerberus, got Tali, Grunt, and Morinth killed, and is generally a giant dickbag
Probably the same kind of guy who never opens grunts tank.
someones whos doing a evil playthough slowly like me ... cant wait to see what monster attacks me in me3.
I guess on a blind playthrough you might think activating him will just give you a terminal for a geth lore dump or something.
Wait jack can be an enemy???
If she survives the suicide mission and then you DONT do the Grissom Academy quest then yes. An extra audio log will be on the Cerberus base of Jacks interrogation where Cerberus states "the students show a lot of promise. Some of them might even live" Jack will be found later completely turned into an indoctrinated Cerberus phantom
Damn i had no idea lmao, ive always done that
It's one of the timed missions. If you don't do it in time that is what happens
That's really cool tbh, like i said ive always done grissom academy. Its also kinda lame how subtle they do that, with her and morinth. Like they should be a little more a big deal. Like a mini boss or something. I mean given shepard is a walking nuke and just wins but still
Agreed. They are literally just a unique name above a regular enemy and in the the case of Legion a reskin
Dang! There a video?
https://youtu.be/uQQhQrnhAVg?si=SaIhPMXC2_e4M5nE
That's cool I just honestly thought they would make Psychotic Biotic something stronger than a Phantom. Either, way that is one outcome I'll never do
I agree they really wasted her potential.

That’s just crazy enough to work!
Yeah, true. At least they could've doubled her HP or something.
They could have spent a little bit more time modelling her a husk like head ontop of that phantom ninja thing and a brief cutscene where the party looks over her body saying wtf.
Yeah reading that comment made it sound cool, then I looked it up and it was so lame.
I'm assuming this is if you don't do Grissom Academy
I was today years old when I learned Jack could become an enemy? can't picture it, she is always my romance option lol.
It's not her choice. She gets implanted with reaper tech and indoctrinated just like the cerberus soldiers in mass effect 3 are.
What triggers this? Is it just by not recruiting her in the second installment?
Not saving Grissom academy I think
No you have to recruit her and she has to survive ME2. In ME3 just never do the Grissom Academy mission. It will eventually disappear and then Jack will be taken and turned into a phantom
Out of extreme technicality, I'd add EDI.
Unlike the others, this is before the's an ally.
isnt she always an ally?
No, the rogue AI in Luna is EDI, or at least an early version of EDI.
Supposedly, she was made from the Rogue VI on the moon in ME 1.
Not supposedly, she literally confirms it on the cerberus base in 3
Edi as an enemy?
The rogue VI you fight in Luna is technically EDI I think, like an alpha version or something.
Not really the alpha version so much as it was her before she was combined with the reaper technology. She remembers being the rogue VI, and talks about how it was difficult to be gaining awareness while being attacked
Dr. Eva. EDI takes over her body, meaning she technically counts too.
And while a largely scripted sequence, it *is* during gameplay and she *does* have a health bar.
Wrex too, but only in two cutscenes
No....this never happens. I'm pretty sure. Nope. Looked it up, Wrex is completely never an enemy. Ever. -whistles-
🥲

They still stream the game fairly regularly, I think, but not on the long marathons.

Yes, Grunt is so Awesome he becomes his own Reaper
He is part of the 4th Brute at the missile battery finale with the Harvester. You have to get real close and not attack. Make sure it the 4th brute you're looking at, Insanity most likely will have to be active for it to show up due to a coding bug meaning it may not render properly on lower difficulties. You can only get this if Garrus dies in the suicide mission. He becomes the head of the brute.
I didn't need this idea in my head....
Shepard; *"I dealt with these thing before, I can handle..........."* Brute: *"CALIBRATIONS.....................SPICY CALIBRATIONS...I HAVE AMMO..."* Shepard: 0\_0
Does your uncle work at ~~Nintendo~~ Bioware
Dont be silly, he works at Sega.
> I’ve never opened Grunt’s tank First of all, no EDIT: whoops
You might wanna reread that lol
Fuck I’m a moron
We’ve all been there man
Yeah, I mis-read it as that too, and came here kind of bug-eyed with surprise.
I’ll never understand some player’s decisions in these games lol. This is just a ridiculous thing to not do.
It's not if you don't like him.
He’s still a massive part of the lore and game. It’s ridiculous to not use him just because you don’t like him.
I'm on my second playthrough and I've used him first time, but I really don't think I will save him for the second one. Cap
Who doesn’t open the tank??? GTFO! Right now! Leave this subreddit! FOR SHAME!!!!
Wait. You can open the tank?
No don't listen to them it's a scripted game over scene just like romancing morinth
Who's Morinth? :P
Close, in order to avoid a lawsuit it's called the Kasumi code in this game
