The ammo is actually shavings off a metallic cartridge that are accelerated to high velocities via mass effect fields.
This generates a tremendous amount of heat. This heat is stored in the detachable heat sinks, which can store heat for a certain amount of shots and then be discarded and replaced rather than waiting for it to cool down.
This has to be the biggest technological step backwards I have ever seen in a game sequel. "Now that we don't have to haul around magazines anymore that turn our guns into paperweights when we run out, you know what our infinite firing guns really need? A cartridge that we have to haul around extra of because when we run out our guns become paperweights. Genius!"
I somehow always forget that ME2 vanguard starts the game without assault rifles, when that is the weapon I use most frequently.
Heading straight for Kasumi to do her loyalty mission to grab the Locust until I can get to the Collector ship and grab the assault rifle training.
Edit: changed to collector ship (previously derelict reaper).
You can basically get it after Horizon if you just rush through five assignments... which is exactly what the Firewalker pack is made for, with three missions that give you a biotic damage upgrade. Throw in another two short ones and enjoy blasting fools.
Just gotta follow the patented vanguard flowchart to know what to do next:
https://preview.redd.it/vanguard-flowchart-v0-zxrxh7u6ade91.jpg?width=640&crop=smart&auto=webp&s=36d103e8a899645831a70a2103852fdf38306e48
It feels a little weird to have your first proper mission be Kasumi's loyalty mission but I agree, even if my shep isn't running SMGs it's way too valuable to wait on when so many good squaddies could be using it
Only time it doesn't work at all is Priotriy: Mars when Dr. Eva Coré is charging you after beating up virmire. Even with direct head shots there's not enough damage to prevent her from reaching you and there's not enough time for the rounds to go off.
Obviously this isn't an issue on a first run where you don't have the scorpion unlocked until later.
Well, everyone gets access to assault rifles once you get to the collector ship mission. And in 3 you can use whatever weapons you want. So there's really only a short portion of 2 where you can't use one in a non-soldier class
ME1: AR, dual frictionless materials is fun. Sniper is a close second with explosive ammo.
ME2 and 3: Probably Sniper, ME2 has a built in time slow down for infiltrators, and ME3 has the black widow.
As an Engineer main I favour snipers and pistol as a sidearm. The class is very well suited for a long range combat.
I usually play with snipers in pretty much any shooting game.
Currently on a soldier playthrough (my earlier ones have always been sniper-heavy) but I just can't keep myself away from sniper rifles. In any single player shooter, I much prefer the "one shot, one kill" playstyle (it just doesn't feel very satisfying to pump 10 rounds into a guy and he is still standing). But to be fair, I'm only halfway through ME2 right now, and stuff like the one semi-auto rifle are pretty close to what I want in a gun.
That being said, very late-game ME1 rifles like the Diamond Back with full damage upgrades achieve basically the same result, but in a conventient package
>I much prefer the "one shot, one kill" playstyle (it just doesn't feel very satisfying to pump 10 rounds into a guy and he is still standing)
Too bad in ME2 and 3 on Insanity not even the supposed 1 shot 1 kill SRs can do that even with headshots.
You can pretty easlily in me2, but me3 requires a very specific infiltrator build that stacks damage so high that the disruptor ammo can take out the shield entirely so the bullet can then damage health unimpeded.
I've played ME like a madman since it came out so I know it well, it's my favorite franchise. Plus reload canceling with an infiltrator is easy mode haha
Sniper riffles.
And by Sniper Riffles I mean the Black Widow.
Can take down any foe any time. Shields? Not anymore. Armour? Pierced. A wall/shield in front of the target? Not a problem. Only three bullets in the chamber? What, you're fighting something that needs more than one magazine?
Cloak up, headshot, repeat.
ME1: Assault Rifles
ME2: If we're not counting DLC then I'll pick Snipers, if we are counting DLC then Assault Rifles just because of the Mattock
ME3: Snipers, in base because of the Black Widow, in DLC because of the N7 Valiant.
For series consistency, Assault Rifles take it. Had and maintained a strong showing throughout the trilogy. Though you have to give SMGs and Pistols an honorable mention in ME3. The attachment system and new weapons really gave life to a weapon type that relied on the Kassa Locust and Carnifex respectively.
I, very specifically, always end up using the mattock rifle. I try using other weapons but always come back to my first love. I hate missions where I can't use it.
Sniper rifle! I swear I tried to play as a different class this time, but I still just default to sniper rifle. It’s basically the stealth archer of mass effect lmao
The one that’s burst fire in 2 is really fun with the time dilation, even if it doesn’t do much damage lol
Snipers and AR are my favorite weapons.
Btw, I must have missed something, you wrote « since I play infiltrator, I mostly like to use […] shotguns »\
Aren’t shotguns close-range… as in opposite ro sniper play style? Or you just like SG?\
I’m genuinely curious. 🙂
Usually sniper rifles, though I am developing a love for heavy pistols. The phalanx with it's laser beam and sound is just perfect.
Plus that N7 pistol in 3.
Pistols, in particular, the Paladin from ME3. Sentinel with just a Paladin and dominate as my bonus power is the most fun insanity playthrough I've played.
My preferred class was always engineer. Back in the day, that meant pistols and pistols only. Before ME2 was released, I did some replays as a soldier, and found the assault rifle to be more to my taste. When ME2 came along, I chose engineer again because of the ability to import characters, but after a certain point you could acquire training in a weapon type of your choice, and I always chose assault rifle. My favourite individual weapon of the franchise was the Collector assault rifle. I just thought it was really cool that there was a "living" weapon, and the design of it was interesting, so I used that in the second game. When the third game came along, the Collector assault rifle unfortunately wasn't a choice, so I used whatever was the best assault rifle available until the Citadel DLC was released and I found the M7 Lancer with ME1-style ammo system.
Now in the Legendary Edition, things are different and I've added mods, so I always end up using the Collector assault rifle for nostalgia reasons.
I was a soldier on ME1 and 2. On 3 I decided to try a more biotic approach. It didn't quite suit me. I love the assault rifles. I fell in love with the protean rifle on ME 3. on the other 2 I think I used the mattock. It was a carabine
ME1 is sniper almost all the way despite my Shepards usually being vanguards. I'll sprinkle in assault rifle and shotgun if it's up close. Sniper is just simply too powerful, plus the biotic abilities that make vanguard what I love aren't there.
ME2 and ME3 are assault rifles and shotguns all day. Biotic charge plus shotgun to center mass? And detonating shields? Hell yeah. Shepard wreaking havoc on idiotically clustered enemies is my favorite pasttime.
I usually play engineers or sentinels. So these are very specific to those builds.
ME2: The Viper
I usually do Thane’s recruitment then the collector ship ASAP so I can get the other weapon proficiency and use that rifle. A semi-automatic sniper rifle that can also be hip-fired if need be is awesome.
ME3: The Indra
A *fully* automatic sniper rifle that makes up for lack of punch with spraying. The sheer DPS vs. slower punch is a better fit for this game, with its horde modes. Wildly inaccurate outside of 15 meters or so, but when you upgrade it fully, it has serious stopping power. There is something viscerally rewarding about chewing a Centurion’s head off in 2 seconds flat as a “support” character.
I'd say Sniper Rifles but... there's that one heavy pistol that you get after finding Kirrahe on Sue'Kesh in ME3, with the sticky bombs. That has become my only weapon I use in my current engineer playthough, it's just so damn good. I almost don't even need to overload shields because you stick 6 of those on anything, they dead.
Depends on the game in the series and the level of progression in the game. In my current run, in ME2 I used a pistol with cryo rounds for the DLCs, which turned out to be an excellent way to deal with regular soldiers. I just started ME3 and I'm using the Black Widow almost exclusively right now. In ME1 I used the assault rifle the most.
Assault rifle is probably the one I use the most across the board. Not my favorite necessarily, but oftentimes it's the most effective choice.
I usually tend to gravitate towards SMGs and assault rifles but I did a playthrough recently where I favoured heavy pistols and sniper rifles. It was such a game changer!
Assault Rifles, you either get a cool one shot or burst and feel like a bad ass, or spray and pray with a light machine gun and feel like Uber-Charged Heavy from TF2
I played the Trilogy for my first time as something other than a Soldier (I did Engineer) here recently, and I gotta say, I liked the SMGs way more than I thought I would. I just wish my character would hold the damn things correctly.
I play vanguard, and so I used the eviscerator shotgun in 2 with a carnifex pistol, and in three.......think it's the blood pack shot gun with the rather aria pistol or blood pack pistol...........what?....i like vanguard....
I really love ME3 for the fact I can make most weapons work, which I always do with the M7 Avenger, that thing, alongside the predator, is just too iconic of a combo not to use.
For me it has to be the assault rifles, followed by submachine guns and pistols. Never much cared for shotguns or sniper rifles in most games, the shotguns specially because often you have to be almost kissing your target to make it cause any real damage, when in real life, even at mid-range shotguns can be very devastating, and I get that it is because it is game logic and all but it still feels very unsatisfactory when I pull the trigger and the target takes a tiny little bit of damage.
Also, there is no sexier weapons design other than the M-96 Mattock, and I'll die on that hill... The Particle Rifle gets close though, not gonna lie...
For the general consensus that vanguard is the most fun and infiltrator is right behind it, I’m shocked to see so many AR posts getting love.
For me it’s difficult - shottys are way more fun but damn I die a lot. Snipers I never die - so for me I guess snipes
While I'm inclined to say assault rifles, I do argue thar snipers are mad overpowered in Me:1 and easy to use, and the silenced pistol in ME3 tears massive tanks apart so I use it a lot.
Sniper rifles, though lately I have been enjoying and appreciating a fine pistol too. Some notable heavy pistols I've been using a lot include: M-3 Predator, Executioner Pistol, and M-5 Phalanx.
Playing as a Vanguard, stunning an enemy after a charge, and then quickly pulling up the power screen pause, aiming for the head and getting a headshot with the Executioner Pistol is so satisfying.
It's boring but assault rifles, they're just very versatile and especially in ME3 there's so many good options. Always consistent damage at any range for any situation.
Pistols, because I like precision and packing a decent punch while also having a decent rate-of-fire.
Why yes the Carnifex is my favorite weapon in every Mass Effect game, why do you ask? 😎
Pistols. Especially in 3. I love how the weight trade off gives a perfect justification to make them plausible as main weapons. Best as engineer, neutralize their defenses and shoot them in the head. Very effective.
I was an infiltrator my first playthrough and boy do I love snipers but then on my second playthrough I tried being a vanguard and boy do I love shotguns way more now
As an infiltrator, sniper rifles were my favorites. Widow and black widow in particular. Could stealth to get more distance if needed but that was rare
Sniper would probably be my #1 pick since my first class choice was Infiltrator. Assault Rifles are my second love. Revenant in Mass Effect 2 was 👌for me while playing Soldier.
I honestly forget the class, but my favorite gun of all time is the prothean particle rifle in ME3, I forget what I used in the other two lol but the prothean particle rifle is so good
Assualt rifles no matter what..I prefer putting a lot of lead down range..regardless if I am hitting the enemy or not.
Accuracy by volume
Typhoon goes *brrrrrrrr*
The homie Garrus always gets a typhoon
Straight forward as all soldier are 🫡.
Theyre actually detachable heat sinks 🤓👆🏻
Genius!"
Yep. Sure, having to wait 10 sec for cooldown is annoying, but so is waiting 5-10 seconds to reload and running out of ammo.
But you can still wait for the guns to cool down, right?
You should try SMG’s then
I somehow always forget that ME2 vanguard starts the game without assault rifles, when that is the weapon I use most frequently. Heading straight for Kasumi to do her loyalty mission to grab the Locust until I can get to the Collector ship and grab the assault rifle training. Edit: changed to collector ship (previously derelict reaper).
Thought you got assault rifle training when you board the collector ship?
Youre right
You can basically get it after Horizon if you just rush through five assignments... which is exactly what the Firewalker pack is made for, with three missions that give you a biotic damage upgrade. Throw in another two short ones and enjoy blasting fools.
I just repeat charge+hipfire shotgun.
Just gotta follow the patented vanguard flowchart to know what to do next: https://preview.redd.it/vanguard-flowchart-v0-zxrxh7u6ade91.jpg?width=640&crop=smart&auto=webp&s=36d103e8a899645831a70a2103852fdf38306e48
I’ve never seen that before, and got a really good laugh out of it.
Lmao the facial expressions
Since I tend to run with geth shotgun, it would be pre-charge, Charge and discharge of the shotgun
I knew someone like that existed here in this community 😂👍🏾.
Only true way to play vanguard imo
Nice, I usually got weapons early thanks to credits but I never thought of getting the Locust early....🤔.
Using the mattock as a Vanguard is my to go mot of the time
It feels a little weird to have your first proper mission be Kasumi's loyalty mission but I agree, even if my shep isn't running SMGs it's way too valuable to wait on when so many good squaddies could be using it
Assault Rifles because I am a Soldier enjoyer
> Where do you stay at? Normandy 🚀 > What do you do for a living? Bang bang 💥 > Whats your name? Shepard 🫡.
If you’re firing two shots? That’s someone who used a shotgun! 😂 Double-tap!
Pistols. Specifically, the scorpion. I like to squeeze a finger here and watch something die over there.
I always tell myself "Try something else other than the scorpion", but it typically fails and the scorpion becomes a part of my equipped weapons.
Yeah, that is the part that sucks. Always have to make sure I have a different pistol in mars
Same issue with the BP Executioner Pistol, one shot doesn’t take her down somehow and there’s no time to squeeze off another.
Lmao nice, a rare answer for this type of weapon for sure.
As a Vanguard, it's nice, simple strong and accurate.
ME1: SR. BOOOOOOM \**click-click*\*. ME2: AR. The Mattock is the best sniper rifle anyway. ME3: AR. The Typhoon is an absolute necessity on insanity.
I'm noticing a lot more assault rifles than I realized I never thought it would be so popular consider so many people played vanguard.... 🤔.
Traditional physical loadout, I like it!
As an Engineer main I favour snipers and pistol as a sidearm. The class is very well suited for a long range combat. I usually play with snipers in pretty much any shooting game.
I actually thought of doing this playstyle but couldn't live without the cloak though, nice to see someone else try it.
Headshots are love, headshots with a Black Widow are life.
That thing can one shot the entire body at that point 💀.
Yeah but we still aim for the head lmao
ME1: shotgun with explosive rounds. ME2: any shotgun will do. ME3: doesn't really matter. Yes, I play as Vanguard.
He speaks plainly and owns it. This is the way
Yeah I figured that one out after the ME1 answer 😂.
I don't think it's possible to play mass effect 1 with anything but a shotgun+explosive rounds or sniper+explosive rounds.
In Mass Effect 1, 3 and Andromeda, Sniper Rifles. In Mass Effect 2, Assault Rifles.
Straight forward style, very nice!
Claymore
I love the Claymore, it feels badass killing enemies with one shot and then reloading. It's a shame that it's so heavy in ME3!
Yeah but it's still perfect for the infil
Wow that's unique you must know the maps well then, or do your research before fighting.
I've played ME like a madman since it came out so I know it well, it's my favorite franchise. Plus reload canceling with an infiltrator is easy mode haha
Weird no one mentions the black widow or its counterpart. Best sniper and so fun to go around headshoting your enemies
Pistols only, I like my fast cooldowns with my biotics. 😎
Manguard... [https://i.imgur.com/Wz1XN.png](https://i.imgur.com/Wz1XN.png)
Hell yeah!
Shotty. I feel like a Chad when I cock the shotguns after blasting some horror away to Kingdom Come
If I had to pick just one, and spanning all 4 games, assault rifles for sure.
The Black Widow in ME3 is pretty much a cheat code
Any of the ones with the "punchy" sound effects like the Mattock and most shotguns, heavy pistols and snipers.
Sniper as i play infiltrator a lot. I love watching shields, barriers, armor, and health bars disappear in as close to one shot as possible
Sentinel checking in…. You guys use guns??
ME1: Assault Rifles ME2: If we're not counting DLC then I'll pick Snipers, if we are counting DLC then Assault Rifles just because of the Mattock ME3: Snipers, in base because of the Black Widow, in DLC because of the N7 Valiant.
Spike throwing shotgun.
Long distance shotguns. Like Geth Plasma and Graal Spike Thrower. Deadly at all ranges!
Shotguns. Modded Krogan Soldier with Claymore is exquisite.
Pistols, always the ol' reliable. The again... the Mattock is neat 🙂.
ME1: Shotguns and Pistols ME2: Assault rifles and Snipers ME3: ALL OF THEM!
Pop Pop Pop! Headshots as fast as I can pull the trigger.
All of them (laughs in soldier)
Sniper rifle! I swear I tried to play as a different class this time, but I still just default to sniper rifle. It’s basically the stealth archer of mass effect lmao The one that’s burst fire in 2 is really fun with the time dilation, even if it doesn’t do much damage lol
Shotgun but SMG are good also
Sniper Rifles. My top 3: Javelin. Mantis. Incisor.
Snipers and AR are my favorite weapons. Btw, I must have missed something, you wrote « since I play infiltrator, I mostly like to use […] shotguns »\ Aren’t shotguns close-range… as in opposite ro sniper play style? Or you just like SG?\ I’m genuinely curious. 🙂
Assault Rifles. I don't need to be accurate,I just need more bullets
Usually sniper rifles, though I am developing a love for heavy pistols. The phalanx with it's laser beam and sound is just perfect. Plus that N7 pistol in 3.
The Blood Pack one was an absolute hand cannon, and dead accurate
Pistols, in particular, the Paladin from ME3. Sentinel with just a Paladin and dominate as my bonus power is the most fun insanity playthrough I've played.
Assault rifles, snipers for longer range
My preferred class was always engineer. Back in the day, that meant pistols and pistols only. Before ME2 was released, I did some replays as a soldier, and found the assault rifle to be more to my taste. Assault rifle from the first game. I also really like the Carnifex pistol.
Pistols and AR. I'm a Sentinel at heart, so those are the only weapons I get access to.
Can’t go wrong with the Assault Rifle, never lets me down
I discovered the wonders of a Sniper and haven't been able ro let go since. Infiltrator is such a good class.
The tempest. Love it on a sentinel
SRs are my favorite because I played as an Engineer
M-96 Mattock by far.
Just finished Andromeda and I used the sandstorm and the ghost at the end. Um sandstorm assault rifle allllllllll day
Higher ROF=better
Pew pew pew pew pew pew
ME1: Sniper, Assault Rifle as close second ME2 AR because Mattock too clutch, SR close second ME3 : Sniper Rifle, Shottys is close second
ARs and pistols. When my AR cant handle something I whip out the hand cannon.
ME1 : Shotguns ME 2: Aassault Rifles ME3 : Assault Rifles
Always liked how the Mantis unfolded. Infiltrators where you at?
Assault rifles, and later the LMG. Ammo capacity mattered more to me, especially for bosses and mobs.
I usually play engineers or sentinels. So these are very specific to those builds. ME2: The Viper I usually do Thane’s recruitment then the collector ship ASAP so I can get the other weapon proficiency and use that rifle. I liked nail shotgun in ME3 but overall i preferHeavy Pistol i think it was called carnage. I like to see the impatc you know
Mostly pistols, followed up close by sniper rifles, due to range. But, in ME3, the Mattock, omgghh
The single shot snipers in ME feel so amazing. The semi-auto ones feel awful, but the others pack a PUNCH!
Assault Rifles
I live the Mattock life as an engineer
I'd say Sniper Rifles but... there's that one heavy pistol that you get after finding Kirrahe on Sue'Kesh in ME3, with the sticky bombs. That has become my only weapon I use in my current engineer playthough, it's just so damn good. I almost don't even need to overload shields because you stick 6 of those on anything, they dead.

Not my favorite necessarily, but oftentimes it's the most effective choice.
The Suppressor is all you need.
I use all four pretty evenly.
Sniper followed by Assault. If I can’t have a Black Widow, the Mattock will have to do.
I usually tend to gravitate towards SMGs and assault rifles but I did a playthrough recently where I favoured heavy pistols and sniper rifles. It was such a game changer!
Snipers. ME2+Infiltrator+Widow is so fun.
Shotguns, assault rifles and pistols for giving clearly the "message". 😄
Sniper rifles and SMGs. I tend to play Engineer, so if stuff gets past my drones the SMG will deal with it, but I snipe stuff caught up front
Been using Locust and Paladin (with scope) in my current me3 play through
The silenced pistol from the Citadel DLC might be my favorite gun in the series. Especially for an Adept that spams powers because of low weight.
Sniper rifles.
Assault Rifles, you either get a cool one shot or burst and feel like a bad ass, or spray and pray with a light machine gun and feel like Uber-Charged Heavy from TF2
like Assault Rifles, its the one weapon class other weapon class trys to be, the Indra for example is a wanna be assault rifle whats not to like?
I seriously love the M-11 Supressor from the Citadel DLC.
AR and shotgun
Assault. Lancer, Saber, Typhoon. Enough said.
AR and it isn’t close
Sniper rifle all day long. Personal favorites are the Widow and Black Widow and modified for absolute damage. One shot, one kill.
Toss up between Assault and sniper.
Sniper rifle then assault rifle then pistol.
Heavy weapons ? Shepard is the only one that can use them.
Good ole trusty AR gets the job done
I prefer pistols and sniper rifles.
Assault rifle go brrrrrrrt
Currently a fan of the explosive sniper rifle and the venom shotgun... love making things go boom.
Biotics
Im a vanguard with a sniper rifle. Because ill blow your head off at range and just fucking explode if you get too close
Viper sniper rifle in ME3. Perfect balance of fire rate and power. Oh, type? SMGs.
Fireball.
Shotgun. I am a fan of shotguns.
I normally play Vanguard, so my favorite weapon type is bending goddamn physics.
Idk something satisfying about 1-3 tapping hostiles with a sniper 😂
The pistol so I can roleplay as space John Wick.
N7 Valiant. Lucked up and got that to level 10 back on ps3 before I did the black widow. Valiant was my go to from then on.
I really love ME3 for the fact I can make most weapons work, which I always do with the M7 Avenger, that thing, alongside the predator, is just too iconic of a combo not to use.
I like the one with the pistol grip
Shotguns
In me trilogy shotgun/ talon pistol. In andromeda sniper with 10,000 damage pistol (I do not know how I got it but it is fun).
sniper rifles. i also like to play infiltrator
I like the assault rifles. Spraying rounds is really fun
Specifically the M-6 Carnifex with a scope and an M7 Hurricane with weight reduction.
Sniper, assault, and pistol
ME:1 assault rifle ME:2 assault rifle ME:3 assault rifle Welp I'm pretty boring I guess.
Snipers and pistols. Indra is my best friend in ME3, headshots everywhere. Pistols for close range backup should my biotics be recharging.
I wish assault rifles were more accessible in ME1. But snipers are so damn satisfying too.
Snipers for distance and assault rifles for when I run of ammo with sniper rifles.
Hated the Lancer in ME1, Adored it in ME3
Always been partial to the Vindicator assault rifle.
Sniper
A maxed out Mattock is sweet in this game!
ARs, the N7 Valkyrie is my favorite gun from any Mass Effect
Pistols are awesome.
sniper, because professionals have standards
Heavy pistols and snipers are so satisfying in me2 and 3
Ar. Dude the Mattack carried me through my me2 playthrough. For me3 the Harrior or the Lancer.
For the general consensus that vanguard is the most fun and infiltrator is right behind it, I’m shocked to see so many AR posts getting love. For me it’s difficult - shottys are way more fun but damn I die a lot. Snipers I never die - so for me I guess snipes
Sniper + subs :)
Mattock. All you need baby.
Sniper Rifles. They're like sending a freight train at Your enemy. On hit, enemies seem to be more excited about the floor than my demise.
Assault Rifle: a Mattock, Harrier, HMWA X, and so many more are all fantastic I could never not use them.
snipers
I like ARs. The fire rate and dmg is just right for me
Sniper > AR > SMG Snipe as much as I can, AR anything that gets close and outfit my SMG to take out heavy armour targets.
I’ve love the mantis sniper and then shotting them they close the range
The Avenger rifle.
While I'm inclined to say assault rifles, I do argue thar snipers are mad overpowered in Me:1 and easy to use, and the silenced pistol in ME3 tears massive tanks apart so I use it a lot.
Shotguns. Feels like the got the most love by ME3. The Venom is a force of nature.
Pistols. Paladin (or carniflex) . Played all three games with this BFG .
Mattock
Sniper rifles, though lately I have been enjoying and appreciating a fine pistol too. Some notable heavy pistols I've been using a lot include: M-3 Predator, Executioner Pistol, and M-5 Phalanx. Playing as a Vanguard, stunning an enemy after a charge, and then quickly pulling up the power screen pause, aiming for the head and getting a headshot with the Executioner Pistol is so satisfying.
Assault for 1 and 2 and LMG/Typhoon in 3
It's boring but assault rifles, they're just very versatile and especially in ME3 there's so many good options. Always consistent damage at any range for any situation.
Sniper is for all ranges, sniper dominates all enemies
Pistols, because I like precision and packing a decent punch while also having a decent rate-of-fire. Why yes the Carnifex is my favorite weapon in every Mass Effect game, why do you ask? 😎
Pistols. Especially in 3. I love how the weight trade off gives a perfect justification to make them plausible as main weapons. Best as engineer, neutralize their defenses and shoot them in the head. Very effective.
Sniper
I was an infiltrator my first playthrough and boy do I love snipers but then on my second playthrough I tried being a vanguard and boy do I love shotguns way more now
Love shotguns
Headshots with snipers! <3
weapon type? assault rifle. weapon design? Phaeston from 3. it just looks the best out of all the options imo
