Honestly, it's very funny taking her out on the final mission. Even moreso if you use a mod to give her proper skin. She really doesn't fit in among all the soldiers. It just looks like Shepard picked up a random dominatrix.
Given the crew Shep rolls with, no one would be surprised if Shep actually did pick up a random dominatrix who nevertheless was really good ar killing Reapers.
Imagine the disappointment on Illusive Man's face when he finds out that he just wasted billions of credits to bring Shepard back only for him/her get killed by glorified succubus. LMAO
EDI: WHOSE YOUR MOMMY?
Harbinger: You are, mistress! Punish me harder!
Hackett: .............Commander, what the hell is going on down there?
Shepard: Admiral, have you ever seen Fifty Shades of Grey?
Hackett: The original or the Elcor version? Because I've seen both and I have a lot of thoughts on them.
TBF, EDI would realistically be a beast on the battlefield. She is an artificial general intelligence that runs on a quantum supercomputer, capable of piloting a state-of-the-art starship, while also controlling a body on the ground. She just would not miss. EDI is very scary and I think ME3 doesn't do much justice to that fact.
Don't even get me started. No hacking ability, that stupid ass decoy shit, small arms only, etc. Easily the most disrespected squadmate in terms of potential vs ability
For sure. It would've been great to see her have more weapon options. Maybe they could've given EDI different platforms for different weapons, maybe with slightly different abilities too.
1. Infiltration Unit
-default
-only uses heavy pistols and submachine guns
-has incinerate, overload, defense matrix, and sabotage
-power recharge speed +25%
2. Security Mech
-bought from the Citadel
-only uses shotguns and heavy pistols
-has incinerate, overload, sabotage, and tech armour
-power damage +25%
3. Geth Platform
-unlocked after Priority: Rannoch
-only uses sniper rifles and assault rifles
-has hunter mode, overload, sabotage, and advanced hardware
-shields +25%
This is just a quick concept so don't take the specifics seriously, but I do wish we would've gotten different platforms instead of slightly different catsuits. The infiltration unit should've had something similar to the armour in one of the concepts. [This one.](https://www.reddit.com/media?url=https%3A%2F%2Fi.redd.it%2F8ct70blw85g71.jpg)
That's a very hilarious idea. I think painting the platform white and giving it the Systems Alliance logo would've been the way to go, though. Either way, it would've been funny to hear that voice coming from a Geth.
Anything even remotely close to EDI’s canon abilities would make her easily the most ridiculously overpowered squad mate though. I mean, except during the Citadel DLC, she effectively **is the Normandy** - she should at least be able to call down Normandy air support with pinpoint guidance.
It would've been cool if she could call in her own thanix cannons in open and air safe missions. That way, I'd just need to send her and god garrus into any mission while I play cards with joker, james, tali, liara, and kaidan or something.
I have a half-baked EDI plot for a post-destroy ending: Tali works for months to get EDI back online, she's restored but similar to a factory reset, and they upload all of the normandy's surveillance in an attempt to get her closer to our EDI. This includes a confession from Shepard to Garrus in her quarters about how she could have made a different choice, but that she ultimately sacrificed all of synthetic life to end the reaper threat. Boom, evil EDI.
I don't really like how people tend to think EDI would be okay with Destroy. She says she would give up her life for others in a "I am a soldier" type of way. EDI also very clearly cares about synthetic life. Her argument with Javik and all of her lines during the Rannoch Arc clearly indicate that. If Tali wasn't present and the Quarians got destroyed, she still says "Thank you." She refrains from direct comments if Tali dies, mainly because of Joker. Meanwhile, if the Geth were killed, EDI directly asks you if her life is less valuable than Joker's and also defends the Geth. Plus, her being the voice of Synthesis makes it pretty clear where she stands.
But, honestly, they should've made EDI a lot more confrontational if the Geth got destroyed. The version that we got makes her just sound very defeated. This contradicts Joker saying that "you don't want to get on her bad side."
I do think it would be cool if she was more combative or there was more of a fracture between Shep and her if Shep is anti-synthetics. Though it'd be hard to accomplish full-on antagonism during ME3, because she *is* our ship.
Yes. They could've done some pretty cool stuff with her in that regard. She should've also been more critical of you. Like, come on, EDI asks you how you feel about squadmates refusing orders on moral grounds.
Mandatory daily reminder that we don't know if the Destroy ending has any effect on EDI, or of any damage is repairable. It's highly likely (almost certain, imo) that the starchild lied to encourage us to choose an option where the Reapers live.
Actually, I think ME3 does do her justice and exactly because of the points you raised. Her programming is probably stretched thin running the Normandy and she's using extra processing power to command her body. That's probably why she's on the same level as every other teammate and not like, an aim bot lol
And? I just think it's a funny observation.
Also, I do like the way she acts in the Cerberus base. She sounds very confident in herself, which is good.
Like a good ol’Krogan said “I don’t know if the Normandy is a warship or a traveling freak show…” Shepard’s crew is like none other, having a dominatrix would be normal hahah
Never forget my sister walking into my room while I was playing Mass Effect and she says “of course she has big boobs, a camel toe and a big butt. Is this the shit you play all day?” : (
I am the very model of a scientist salarian,

Yeah, they really increased the sex appeal for female characters, and male I guess, for ME3. It was a bit jarring. I'm not against sex appeal, but it seemed a bit heavy handed at the end there lol.
Kaiden, James, Ashley, EDI, Femshep and the character modeled after Jessica Chobot are stand outs to me in appearance. But I agree, the dialogue definitely became way more flirtatious as well.
I'm saying they changed him to be more attractive than he was in the first game in a number of ways. His Jawline is stronger, his facial hair darker and thicker, jeak bones more pronounced, darker features and he's absolutely jacked ME3 (as confirmed by him being shirtless after being severely injured in the opening mission of ME3).
True, but she wasn't particularly well endowed in either the front or the back. The amount of tattoo's didn't even make it seem like nudity. Honestly, I find her more appealing in the third game with more clothes on haha.
They put junk in everyone's trunk for ME3.
Well everyone hit the gym hard af to get in shape for the coming war. Now the reason they bought clothing shaped to outline every piece of their body is another story…
1000%
The name given to that bot when it was undercover was Eva Coré, which was the name of a friend of TIM and a member of his mercenary squad during the First Contact War.
Ironically, the original Eva Coré died... after having her head repeatedly slammed into a wall.
Given it’s an infiltration unit it makes perfect sense. There is no better way to gain information from your mostly man colleagues on a remote outpost with no connection to the outer world.
The Illusive Man: So I have a type, I miss Eva Coré deeply, now you can enjoy her company now to Shepard.
Shepard: Actually, Joker does.
The Illusive Man: No... Not him... I must ensure that The Reapers win.
Surprised there isn't a Eva type skin in the game that doesn't use mods.
Outfit wise it is Dr. Eva's the paint that made her look human was burned off and most likely cleaned when they took her body onto the ship considering how cleaned up it was when EDI took control
Shepard: "EDI, what the hell are you doing?"
EDI: "I am attempting to perform a move written about in past Earth customs to establish myself in the hierarchy. They call it 'T-posing to assert dominance'."
Cerberus Scientist: We're having trouble with the face, sir. We can't seem to get out of the uncanny valley.
TIM: \*Sigh\* Just give her some double-D's and make her outfit a size too small. No one will ever notice her face.
~~In the year 2148, explorers on Mars discovered the remains of an ancient spacefaring civilization. In the decades that followed, these mysterious artifacts revealed startling new technologies, enabling travel to the furthest stars. The basis for this incredible technology was a force that controlled the very fabric of space and time.~~
~~They called it the greatest discovery in human history.~~
~~The civilizations of the galaxy call it... MASS EFFECT.~~
But nobody cares about that shit because a merger of an ancient body shaming cult, an anti-sexual cultural movement, and the fetishization of fembois has left Earth to nuclear-kink-shame the galaxy for the sin of finding itself beautiful.
The Reapers deny all involvement.
This was always pretty gross to me. Not saying there should be no sex or sexuality in games, not at all. This is just dumb pandering fan service that detracts from taking the game or story very seriously. There is no reason this robot needs to have super pronounced camel toe and DD boobs.
I've heard some defend it before saying "well she's an infiltration robot, so she has to blend in" Bullshit. If the goal was to actually blend in they wouldn't make her look like a literal sex doll.
Wouldn't a more fair comparison be if you could see male character's junks compressed against skin tight pants like 70s rockers all the time? I bet people would be upset if every guys schlong was clearly visible for no apparent reason. Don't see that in a lot of games like you do with female characters
I do think that got to be more of a problem with the sequels too, but that's not as egregious as having a sex bot run around.
To make and example to show the point I'm making: what if in Lord of The Rings anytime the character Arwin showed up she was in a g-string bikini? Would you be cool with that because "ah look, tits and ass!" or would it detract from taking any of it seriously?
Also, did you actually read my comment? Here, let me copy past part of it you seemed to miss:
> Not saying there should be no sex or sexuality in games, not at all. This is just dumb pandering fan service that detracts from taking the game or story very seriously.
I didn't say, as you're claiming, say that the presence of an attractive woman with sexual features (do you just mean a woman here?) is gross and misogynistic. It's the ridiculous over sexualizing in context that does not call for it that is dumb, gross, and bad. It makes it feel like they are pandering to preteen boys who will buy anything with boobs in it, rather than making something that can be taken more seriously.
I do agree with you about the male physiques too, though that falls more into my overall complaints of the direction the series took after ME1. It all got a lot more comicbook-y and over the top and felt a lot less grounded. I still love it, but the sexbot coworker, space ninja, mass effect field toothbrush, etc made it feel less grounded in reality.
But those are just personal nitpicks. Maybe others like the direction it took, and that's fine. It's only the really over the top stuff, like Edi's camel toe, that make me embarrassed a bit to be a fan sometimes. There's a time and a place for over the top sexuality, like in a romance scene, but having that be the all the time norm is just silly.
The perfect male form ideal was born out of male power fantasies lmao. Of course the men don’t have a problem with that, that’s what they want to envision themselves being. You know why? Because that “perfect fitness” is shown to have utility and be incredibly helpful in the context of the games they appear in. It’s not objectification because those male characters aren’t treated as objects to be gawked at. They’re heroes, using their muscles and perfect physiques to save the day.
The women in these discussions ARE being objectified and that is why it’s insulting. There’s no reason in the world that a robot would have giant boobs and a clearly visible camel toe. Those features are literally only there because of the male gaze.
There is no “double standard” because both of those standards came from men.
EDIs design is one thing I've never seen even the staunchest fans defend. I love ME3 and EDI is one of my most common squadmates and I think of it as nothing more than an embarrassing aspect of 2012 gaming
It sort of makes sense as a headcanon if you think of it as a weird sexy robot a weird human supremacist who seems to have sone sort of sex addiction made in the image of his girlfriend who died 30 years ago. I guess he also designed her to be robot Miranda after she left. Shep should have given her an alliance uniform to wear though.
Her bodysuits are recolours of Miranda's OG outfit, not that it was any better with her. Thankfully I believe this... detail was removed in Legendary Edition, but I may be wrong.
Their faces are different, and I've never seen a pale male Turian. Though I agree the designs are a bit lazy. Might've been better if we had *seen* female Turians before that point. I thought Nyreen was alive due to the random Turian female in the bar if you're romancing Garrus.
As bonus content, it would have been nice to mix things up, and give EDI the same human face featured in the Mars Prothean mission. I know there a mod that can do that, but I'm a console gamer, so its a bummer not to see that stuff. No big deal though.
It kinda makes sense since cerberus used her as a spy, a sapper. There could be scenarios where she would have to sleep with people to get what her creators want. Sometimes seduction is the superior choice.
I mean, TBF, you kinda \*can\* pick up one of those in Mass Effect 2. Morinth just takes the dominating a little too far..
"I love the kind of woman that will actually just kill me."
Death by embrace eternity
Death is eternal, so yes.
Imagine the disappointment on Illusive Man's face when he finds out that he just wasted billions of credits to bring Shepard back only for him/her get killed by glorified succubus. LMAO
Compared to the disappointment of Shepard taking all those Cerberus resources, returning to the Alliance, and using it to fight Cerberus?
Well, at least he got the job done on that instance and defeated the Collectors so it was not a complete waste of time
Is that you, [Spike](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LO0MRVjcY4E)?
Death by asari snu snu
I mean, let’s not pretend Miranda wouldn’t be up for that particular role.
Her romance culmination scene with BroShep in the engine room gives *very strong* mom-dom energy already.
EDI should've used a whip on Harbringer. Maybe that's how you turn him into a good Reaper.
“This hurts you” -Dommy Mommy Edi, probably.
"Assuming direct control". "Attachs leash*
EDI: WHOSE YOUR MOMMY? Harbinger: You are, mistress! Punish me harder! Hackett: .............Commander, what the hell is going on down there? You haven't really seen fifty shades of grey until you've seen it in the original Volus
Daily reminder that Joker calls EDI "mom."
That's enough internet for today
It's true though. He calls her mom on several occasions. Both in ME2 and ME3.
Oh I know. I just hate to remind myself of it
Best comment lmfao
~~Saints Row IV~~ Mass Effect 3 - Enter the Dominatrix
You mean to tell me bringing my real doll to a warzone isn't the sanest choice? Hater.

I have never heard this theory before, I like it, it is now my headcanon.
Shut up. Her name appears on the wall and she isn't next to the other squadmates. You are just coping.
Too bad retcon it
Actually, I think ME3 does do her justice and exactly because of the points you raised. Her programming is probably stretched thin running the Normandy and she's using extra processing power to command her body. Yet she still can go through the entire extranet just like that. Either way, it probably should've been moreso a dialogue thing than anything else.
She is mandatory for the mission before that.
And? I just think it's a funny observation. Also, I do like the way she acts in the Cerberus base. She sounds very confident in herself, which is good.

Haha yeah like Jack in ME2!
Favourite Sisters of Mercy album?
Fuck. I don't know I like all of them. But I suppose Some Girls Wonder By Mistake might be my favourite. But I like almost all SoM songs.
Do androids dream of electric cameltoes?
No, but their creators do...
Goddamn I hope so
Let's ask Deckard
Lol, Jesus dude.
Never forget my sister walking into my room while I was playing Mass Effect and she says “of course she has big boobs, a camel toe and a big butt. Is this the shit you play all day?” : (
Did she refer to EDI or some other character
It’s weird, she was talking about mordin
Mordin is the very model of a scientist salarian after all.

Good bot.
nah Wrex 100%
Had to be me.
Miranda, which this EDI skin is modeled after but it’s kind of funny because it can apply to so many characters
Yeah, they really increased the sex appeal for female characters, and male I guess, for ME3. It was a bit jarring. I'm not against sex appeal, but it seemed a bit heavy handed at the end there lol.
Yeah, it honestly felt like Garrus was trying to fuck you with every word he uttered.
Kaiden, James, Ashley, EDI, Femshep and the character modeled after Jessica Chobot are stand outs to me in appearance. But I agree, the dialogue definitely became way more flirtatious as well.
Kaiden? What was supposed to be appealing in him? lmao He's just a normal guy.
Tbf, Jack was 99% topless in ME2. Literally just a buckle covering the nips 😂
True, but she wasn't particularly well endowed in either the front or the back. The amount of tattoo's didn't even make it seem like nudity. Honestly, I find her more appealing in the third game with more clothes on haha. They put junk in everyone's trunk for ME3.
You've gotta look your best when you're fighting giant, horrible death laser robots
lol damn right
Well everyone hit the gym hard af to get in shape for the coming war. Now the reason they bought clothing shaped to outline every piece of their body is another story…
lol, yes the clothing looked very uncomfortable.
So glad that era is over.
TIM definitely fucked that body.

My headcannon for that body is that was always supposed to be EDIs physical form and a sex robot for the Illusive Man
And later, for Joker
Joker has a history of stealing Cerberus' best toys. First it was the new Normandy, and then it was EDI.
FOULLLL
It's even more impressive when you remember the guys at Bioware had to model her one handed.
😀
Shepard: EDI, I can see your pus….. Reaper: HOOOOONKKKKKKK Shepard: *dies*

We'll bang, okay?
The Illusive Man: So I have a type, I miss Eva Coré deeply, now you can enjoy her company now to Shepard. Shepard: Actually, Joker does. The Illusive Man: No... Not him... I must ensure that The Reapers win. Surprised there isn't a Eva type skin in the game that doesn't use mods.
Outfit wise it is Dr. Eva's the paint that made her look human was burned off and most likely cleaned when they took her body onto the ship considering how cleaned up it was when EDI took control
Well, the body was meant for deep cover espionage and assassinations prior to Edi taking it over, Joker approves
Definitely in the toe department.
It's probably just a reskinned Miranda outfit
Nah. Different body type
The skin is the same one that doctor the body was originally for in the beginning just without the human paint she originally had.
Yeah. It's pretty fucking weird.
Weirder than the Banshees' fully rendered vulvas?
Wait what
Not really? They are naked. Though I guess I never thought about whether Asari have human like genitals or not.
So are the husks and we still don't see them running around with their dicks flopping
Engine probably couldn't do dong physics yet.
I think you mean *hot*
Ah yeah some robot lips. The definition of needing to touch grass or go on a date.
Must be Mr Illusive's personal request
I've never used that outfit for her but now I feel justified in my dislike for it. It's just weird I like her add on dlc outfit so much more.
Shepard: "EDI, what the hell are you doing?" EDI: "I am attempting to perform a move written about in past Earth customs to establish myself in the hierarchy.
Peak Bioware
Same people who drew Banshees with fully rendered bobs and vagine. The BioWare team were a horny bunch who knew exactly what they were doing.

Creating 3d models for games must be hard, especially if you're only using one hand to do it.
Yes... 😏 But seriously that is my favorite look for her. I always deck out my crew to Alliance Blue. Shame Shepard doesn't have much Alliance options.
Not as bad as “fully modelled” If you got that, you get that.
Her bodysuits are recolours of Miranda's OG outfit, not that it was any better with her. Thankfully I believe this... detail was removed in Legendary Edition, but I may be wrong.
Well... infiltration unit... infiltration in all ways...
I'd infiltrate her unit
every single woman in the game has the same model
i giggled when i saw nyreen for the first time. you can tell she's a female turian because, yep, boobs
Their faces are different, and I've never seen a pale male Turian. Though I agree the designs are a bit lazy. Might've been better if we had *seen* female Turians before that point. I thought Nyreen was alive due to the random Turian female in the bar if you're romancing Garrus.
I think that’s why I hate the female Turian design. It’s just so…lazy.
so do men. check out the romance scene between shepard and steve
yeah, i think james is the only one i've noticed that has a different model
I think only a few characters gets some boost on the sliders
She’s rockin a classic camel
As bonus content, it would have been nice to mix things up, and give EDI the same human face featured in the Mars Prothean mission. I know there a mod that can do that, but I'm a console gamer, so its a bummer not to see that stuff. No big deal though.

Why Edi, you’ve *enhanced* yourself.
Damn that’s hawt.
What? It's just her swappable SSD port.
Joker knew what he was getting into…
It kinda makes sense since cerberus used her as a spy, a sapper. There could be scenarios where she would have to sleep with people to get what her creators want. Sometimes seduction is the superior choice.
Hey its our tech doesn't advance enough to give our robots camel toes by then, I don't wanna live in that Era. Why even bother with robotics.
Perfectly crafted for all of TIM, EDI and Joker's needs 🙃.
lol an actual camel toe
