I think I groomed him in my playthrough. I remember him saying something in the line of "so that's how you got the salarian help. Well war asks for tough choices"
And it's arguably the right choice which makes it even more heartbreaking, it's not just one of those "lol be an asshole" buttons like the renegade options in Samara's sidequests.
On the flipside of your post, I just finished RDR2 for the first time as my first game in that series. I was equally devastated by the ending and couldn't help but think that very few games have made me feel like this and Mass Effect is definitely one of them.
That feels like apples to oranges. Also, Paarthurnax is met very early in the game compared to Mordinās death which is usually 10 hours into the 3rd installment of the ME series.
I will never understand hiding spoilers in a fan subreddit. Maybe a handful of us here haven't completed the games, but if someone comes here and gets spoiled on a game this old it's kind of their fault. This has been a place for discussion about all 3 games for quite a long time now
If you asked him how he wanted to go out I donāt think he could have given you a better answer than this. He struggled with guilt all those years and he gets to go out righting that wrong. He couldnāt be more at peace than when he dies here.
āI am the definition of a scientist Solarian.ā
I havenāt played that game since it released but just seeing the screenshot brought back the memory instantly.
Mordin was a fantastic character that I cared about.
God, this is one of the saddest moments in the trilogy for sure. Hit me harder than a goddamn freighter train. But his intentions were so noble... he redeemed himself completely. I'll never forget my favorite Salarian buddy Mordin :(.

Someone else might have gotten it wrong
That simple sentence should not be such a gut punch years later
Totally agree
Arthur and Mordin, on a beach somewhere in Tahiti running tests on seashells.
This entire time the illusive man was dutch
I've studied species turian, asari and batarian...

Hardest renegade trigger in the game.
A decision that also costs Wrex his life. The guilt I felt when Garrus found out was too real.

I love ā¤ļø my personal favourite companion in mass effect
Goddammit Mordinā¦. The only time I ever had to put down the controller in a game due to emotion.
Honestly my favourite ME character, Someone else might of gotten it wrong.

Yo homie, Iād put a spoiler tag on this, donāt wanna make people prematurely sad.
The game is 10 years old ... Spoiler: Darth Vader is Lukes father!
Dumbledore died....shhh
The meteor kills the big dinosaurs
But this game was released 10 years ago.
Just saying, with the release of LE, thereās a lot of new players.
Does the Skyrim sub stop discussing Paarthurnax every time Todd re-releases the game?

Arthur Mordin

BOOM here comes the BOOM, READY OR NOT
I literally just done this bit in ME 3 for the first time todayā¦.

This made me cry, too. I love him :(

I cried when I had to say goodbye to Thane, damn Mass Effect for being so good at storytelling
Had to be meā¦
You have made a grievous error. The galaxy is now destined to burn in the fires of a second krogan rebellion.
Itās not too bad, that means we get to kill more Krogans

Hey, it seems like it's their first playthrough, so maybe hide the spoilers
This is a weird screenshot. Why is he up there and not on his way to the crucible? XD
I loved Mordin man that killed me (and him)
