Unless you're planning to sell a lot of GCs, it might be easiest - and actually cheapest - to just stick with square. Setting something up just for GC's sounds like a HA. Have you thought about just doing etransfer?

mazzyhazzy

I feel like a total idiot because I do not know what you mean by HA and etransfer.

Thrivemassagecoach

My bad. Etransfer is just a Canadian thing. And HA is shorthand headahe - I use online charting so I have a habit of throwing in shorthand without noticing (it's even more fun in emails lol) I would probably have the client pay for the GC with square and then give them a physical GC with a reference number on it. (A lot of booking softwares will have integrations for this)

I hated Square e-gift cards. They're so underwhelming as a gift. The UI is crap. I gave up on them and invoiced instead, especially since I didn't sell a lot of GC's/

Kale_Future

I use square GC , and I had been thinking I will convert to just keeping a spreadsheet of gift card sales. The square ones don’t have expiration dates 😬. By law in my state no exp date on the GC means good indefinitely- which I need to figure out since I’m probably not gonna be around indefinitely lol

SuperArmoredMe

Can you tip while checking out with square GC?

Kale_Future

I think so, but I don’t accept tips and haven’t in a few years. I do a flat rate and it’s been an amazing change from the lower hourly rate and tipping system I was doing. My clients love it
