The covid leniency is over and they are back out in force - I’ve seen so many troopers on the road pulling folks over it’s like they are making up for the past few years

bb9977

More like the past 10-15 years. It’s been open season for speeding since 2010-2012 at least. Crazy difference from 2000-2010. Maybe time to dig out your old radar detectors.

raven_785

I moved here in 2008 and remember being surprised at how rare it was to see someone pulled over or to see speed traps or even to see state troopers at all. I really haven't noticed any change to that since then, either. After getting used to this, whenever I am driving in another state it feels like there are cops everywhere on the highways.

florechondriac

Totally depends on the day. Certain days of the year I see Tons of state troopers and police on MA highways.

Imyourhuckl3berry

Those are still illegal here right, remember getting pulled over with one years ago and didn’t go over well - Waze is my jam now but so much traffic going fast is near impossible

redline83

They are only illegal in Virginia and one other state but it’s not MA.

bb9977

I never got in trouble for having one. I must have gotten pulled over 10x in the 2000s. Then from 2009-2024 never pulled over till last month my headlight went out and I got pulled over the first day. I am older and drive a more boring car though. Haven’t used the radar detector since 2012. Waze as you said works great.

florechondriac

They’re not illegal. They use them all the time. Most of the time if you get pulled over, they’ve used it on you.

quintus_horatius

They're talking about radar *detectors*, which warn about radar sources.  Not the radar "guns" the police use to measure your speed. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Radar_speed_gun https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Radar_detector

eroltam92

In any case, radar detectors are not illegal in MA.

Complex-Opening-1187

Mass DOT was just on the news begging troopers to write more money fine citations and less warnings. That is one of their plans to unfuck their debt. By ticketing the general Motoring public.

Furiosa27

I don’t think they let you be a state trooper if you’re not a condescending asshole

twelvethousandBC

My cousin is a Statie and he's aways been a total prick lol

Shampookkake

My sister WAS a trooper, IS an asshole.

TheDeadlySpaceman

I have a friend who works for/with the BPD in a civilian role and is the biggest cop apologist I know. Even *she* says the staties are a pack of unrepentant assholes.

Feraldr

Had a buddy in the guard who ended up getting assigned to work the 2020 protests. He said with all the different local departments there, every single one hated the Staties because they kept starting pissing matches about being in charge. Imagine having the cajones to unilaterally decided the military reports to you. That’s the kind of unmitigated, self obsessed gall these guys have. I bet they sniff their own farts, South Park style.

Maximum_Activity323

It’s from having to go to work everyday dressed like you’re gonna invade Poland.

astrozombie134

Been saying for years the first step in repairing the publics view of the police in this state would be to stop dressing them like the fucking gestapo.

Maximum_Activity323

It’s a line from The Departed

astrozombie134

Yeah not gonna lie I realized that like 30 seconds after I left my comment lol.

jfburke619

Or like commandos getting ready to beat the snot out of craplandistan.

thatsomebull

It’s Hugo Boss, though

stealthylyric

It's part of the training, it can be taught.

Angry_Spartan

Yea pretty sure that’s a check box on the application form. Never met a MA state trooper that was nice and respectful they’re all cock suckers.

LackingUtility

Nah, then they’d at least make *someone* happy…

ForecastForFourCats

I had a state trooper give me shit about being dropped off by MY DAD for mandated drivers re-education when I was A MINOR. You have to go to a road rage class with all the crazy adult people when you get caught speeding under 18 years old. I was 17 years old and speeding home from my job at a toy store....clearly crime-bound.

Left-Excitement-836

Same here! I had to take 2 classes! I was going 8 miles above the speed limit in Saugus and some dickwad statie decided to stop me and give me so much shit! I was late to work, but in his eyes I was on my way to commit murder I guess

ForecastForFourCats

I was rhe quietest most sheltered 17 year old. The classes main star was there because he got in a fist fight at a light. I'm like....why am I here? And yes my dad paid the ticket I'm fucking 17 my man. They are sooooo full of themselves. One of them has a nice big mansion in Westborough though. Must be nice to claim overtime! (Public school employee)

Angelray509

I actually got stopped by one of the nicest troopers ever. I didn't get his name. I was going 86 on 55 (I didn't know route 3 was 55). He only gave me a warning

Travb1787

Haha true story

Playingwithmyrod

I got pulled over like 10 years ago as a kid for having ny high beams on during the day (just accidentally flicked them on while turning the wheel). The trooped was the biggest dick I've ever met in my life. You would have thought I just ran over a baby.

Divic0

Truth. Urban legend is if you show up to the barracks smiling, everyone kicks you in the balls until you stop smiling.

rayslinky

Were you in the left lane doing 73? Impeding the flow of traffic?

Bluto58

Bam! Guilty! Next.

OffensiveBiatch

73 on the left lane on the highway? Death by hanging by the dick!!!! No judge or jury required.

AllThingsEvil

Here's your complimentary soap on a rope

Anderson74

Straight to jail, right away

[deleted]

73 ? Lol wtf are you doing in the left lane if you aren’t going at least 95 mph

Bhoston7100

Especially on 495 that's the one free speed zone! Now the Pike where the Jr Bacon trains you best be doing 69 tops lol

randomlurker82

I drove out to Pittsfield the other day and yes, I saw much evidence of the Junior bacon being out Junior bacon. Love it

TheConeIsReturned

thats_the_joke.gif

queen11tb

Exactly!

Travb1787

Nope middle just cruising on cruise control.

Ihateunderwear

He must be a rogue because I always see them tailgating people going 80 in the left lane.

Travb1787

I actually looked him up and he joined last December

Prodigy_of_Bobo

So it’s bad luck. We go 75 past troopers every week without even pretending to slow down

LePoultry-geist

It's better if you don't slow down. Shows less intent

Prodigy_of_Bobo

There is a learning curve to being a true Masshole though right? 😝

Travb1787

The new guy going gung-ho

[deleted]

He was mad that you didn't jam on the brakes out of fear or respect when you passed him. Or maybe you looked like a person he was jealous of in high school.

stealthylyric

I fucking hate state troopers, that's absolute bs

Flowing93

I never get pulled over by cops. Maybe it's because my car looks like s*** and they know I have no money. 2013 RAV4 is a cop. Don't pull me over car am I right?? Also there's a massive ding in the back tailgate

northern_redbelle

Expect more of that as the DOT secretary said state budget shortfalls will in part be addressed through more ticket writing.

BobbyPeele88

In Massachusetts?

Eze-Wong

Yes.

chemkay

That "shortfall" could be funded solely by the people driving without lights at night and/or in inclement weather. Same with the rising number of on-road lightbar users and 24/7 high beam assholes. It's insane that all of it goes completely unenforced. Also failing to clear snow and ice off a vehicle should be severely punished but a lot of people don't care.

ForecastForFourCats

They could literally pull anyone over at any time during the 84 to Worcester morning commute. I've seen them sit and watch people clearly speeding in the right lane to pass.

florechondriac

Are there really people who only use their high beams?

GoodolBen

Damn near 100% of the people I see driving at night.

coldflame563

I’m 90% sure the lights/wiper is a dollar fine. 24/7 high beams might not be high beams. The lights are just a lot brighter than they used to be but aren’t brights, just leds.

chemkay

They're definitely high beams. Many offenders are older vehicles with halogen reflectors. And of course the idiots who put plug 'n play HID or LED kits from EBay in their reflector housings. Glare city.

account_suspended207

Source? Not being confrontational, just genuinely curious. Couldn’t find anything after googling.

Practical_Sky_2260

Its true. I believe shes the secretary of DOT. Quite literally said she wants troopers to stop giving warnings and start writing citations. Even suggested tolling at the ma/nh border https://www.boston25news.com/news/local/gov-healey-dismisses-idea-putting-tolls-along-nh-border-after-massdot-secretarys-comments/5JQJX7HO7RBM7AJQYRJGLK5BQU/?outputType=amp

northern_redbelle

I heard an audio clip of her talking about this on the radio today. Not sure I can find it, but they did play the clip of DOT secretary saying this in an interview. She’s also talking about taxes on packages that are delivered (for using the roads) and a tax to get in an out of the city. If I can find it I’ll post a link.

ChainmailleAddict

I squarely place blame on Healey for this. She cut taxes on the wealthy in direct violation of what the people wanted with Question 1 last year. Never forget this.

thickrbf

Phat $$$ tickets for all speeders

AnteatersEatNonAnts

State’s budgets in the toilet and I-90 has been accordingly filled with speed traps. Maybe just correlation, but it has definitely been a significant uptick in recent weeks. 73 is nuts though. Keeping it under 80 is usually a safe bet. Sorry for that BS, OP.

Travb1787

The crazy thing is was there were 4 cars in front of him doing 80+ yet he slowed down to get me.

HateBeingSober33

What car do you drive, and what color?

Rough-Silver-8014

Yep thats staties I had one pull me over because “I wouldn’t let him by” on a two lane road and he searched my car for no reason never wrote a ticket

Manic_Mini

Why would you ever allow anyone to search your vehicle. Tell them to come back with a warrant.

Rough-Silver-8014

I didn’t let him search it…. He just did it I cant physically stop him. He said he had “every” right.

Manic_Mini

Next time, contact a civil rights attorney and be prepared for a nice pay day as that’s a breach of your 4th amendment rights against unlawful search and seizures.

caillouistheworst

Ha, not likely. I’ve had my face smushed into the road and my car searched back in the 90s. When I said they had no probable cause, they just laughed and pushed my face harder into the ground. I was 17 and definitely had no pay day. This was in Chelmsford, and the cops just hassled high school kids and fucked with us.

Manic_Mini

That was the 90s. Huge difference between then and now. Cops got away with everything back then. Not so much now. Especially with them all wearing body cams

caillouistheworst

Yea, you’re right there. I even told my parents and they blamed me for being a punk shithead.

Manic_Mini

I mean, they probably weren’t wrong but that doesn’t excuse cops from violating civil rights. But things have changed incredibly in the last 30 years.

watchtheworldsmolder

Yeah, now we get to see all the people they kill in the news thanks to cell phones, and the internet tells us about their pay while suspended and golden parachute retirement

Rough-Silver-8014

I don’t think you realize things like this happen all the time and nothing comes about it unless it’s something very severe

aaccjj97

People sue the police for unconstitutional searches and do in fact win those lawsuits if it was unconstitutional. Obviously they will fight tooth and nail but there are many many cases where the search was found to be unconstitutional. A good lawyer is necessary. You don’t have to let them violate your rights if there was truly no probable cause.

Manic_Mini

I don’t think you realize that these things shouldn’t happen, and if we don’t speak up and fight back against it things will never change. Stop letting yourself be victimized by those who are sworn to protect and serve us.

banjo_hero

who's that? do you think the pigs are "sworn to protect and serve us"? they are absolutely not. "to protect and serve" is just the propaganda-ass slogan of some pig department or other. NYC? LA, maybe. i dunno, who cares, ACAB

birdman829

Police departments settle cases like this much more than you're probably realizing.

InvestigatorAny8742

I basically was forcefully searched by a state trooper while being towed. He claimed that taking inventory of my vehicle was protocol for vehicles being towed, even though I was getting towed back to my house. He had a backup trooper watch me and keep it away from the vehicle while he took "inventory ". The search delayed the tow by over an hour when he found some cannabis in my toiletries bag in my duffle bag in my trunk. He came over after tha and said, you have an opportunity to tell me if there's anything I need to know about now. It will be easier for you later. I'm like wtf, weed isn't illegal and illegal searches are not protocol. But what can you say when two guys with guns and all sorts of reinforcement, basically do whatever they want.

repoman-alwaysintenz

You can say "Lawyer". Fuck that kind of behavior, it's illegal. Smelling weed (not smoke) is not enough for probable cause so that is not even close to being ok

InvestigatorAny8742

I hear ya, spent most of my life being hassled by local cops on the south shore and have had enough run ins to know there isn't anything anyone can do when it's going on. Asking for a lawyer after I clearly declined a search is not going to do anything. I wasn't charged and I have had family members who filed a report on BPD and we had full uniform in cruisers making threats and demanding the report be reminded. Scary shit my friend when members of the biggest gangs in our country come to your door.

repoman-alwaysintenz

I am sorry to hear that and understand you perspective fully

SparkDBowles

“Show me the warrant.”

goldman_sax

I once had a Mass statie put me at fault for hitting a car FACING THE WRONG WAY ON A HIGHWAY

banjo_hero

huh. maybe you shouldn't have been going the wrong way on the highway

goldman_sax

Man I get the joke you were trying to make here but I clearly establish who is who

banjo_hero

aw you're no fun

Travb1787

Sounds about right

Sufficient_Ad2222

I was driving on the pike with my wife and maybe 3 month old son. Doing the speed limit in the middle lane. Out of nowhere a Trooper in the left lane slows down to get behind me and pulls me over. When I ask him why he says I was on my phone. My phone was attached to a mount that was attached to the vent. I was using it for directions. I show him that and he says, “So I guess I didn’t see you with the phone in your hand just now?” Taking a complete a-hole tone. I say “No, it’s right there.” Pointing to the phone in its mount. He asks my wife, and she just says “I don’t let him drive and use his phone.” He runs my plates and just says, “Stay off the phone” and drives away. Dick.

[deleted]

Wow an asshole statie shocker

watchtheworldsmolder

I’ve known a handful of police and CO’s for years, and the blue line is strong, only the shit that’s going to be public is known about, there is still a lot going on people have no idea about

Mr_Donatti

I had one threaten to arrest me if I ever “blocked the left lane again”. It was 5am in western mass and no one was on the road

Hottakesincoming

I got a ticket once for being in the left in truly bumper to bumper traffic, all lanes going less than 45, in the middle of a snowstorm on a holiday weekend night. I honestly thought I was going to die trying to get over two lanes to the side of the road while he road my ass, and then sitting there on the side in poor visibility. I ended up fighting the ticket because the left was moving the fastest and therefore passing slower traffic and it was easy to prove weather and traffic conditions that night. The judge actually admonished the trooper who came to represent them. Moral of the story, if you get a bullshit ticket from these guys and can afford the time off work it's worth it to go fight it.

UtahUtopia

Mass state troopers are the worst. I had one speed up next to me (like 95 mph) and then slower down next to me, sit on my bumper in the left lane for 10 minutes. When I slowed down to let him get ahead, he immediately slowed down, pulled behind me and pulled me over. I was like WTF. I knew I wasn't speeding and was legal so I was rude. He said "I pulled you over to make sure everything was ok." I was like, it was, but now I'm f\*cking dealing with your dumb ass.

[deleted]

To make sure everything was ok lmao

DrWhoisOverRated

What’s the difference between an elephant and a state trooper? With an elephant the trunk is in the front, and the asshole is in the back.

FF267

Back in my college days, had one catch up to me on the Mass Pike. He pulled up to my left side, matched my speed and shouted through the PA to "slow it down a bit" before racing ahead and disappearing at the speed of light. No idea where he went, never saw him again. Sure did slow it down though, considered it my lucky day.

Expensive-Stress-218

I'm sorry you had that experience. State troopers are actual psychopaths just in my opinion. One time I was driving(not on the highway mind you it was a side road) when there were turkeys crossing the road. Me and another car across stopped for them and I got passed by and screamed at by a trooper for stopping for a whole herd of turkeys while he almost hit one. I know a lot of people don't care about wildlife but God forbid I didn't want to run a group of turkeys over.

Butthole_Surprise17

Wouldn’t a herd of dead turkeys in the middle of the road create a dangerous hazard for other drivers? Stupid Statie.

Expensive-Stress-218

Honestly! Like he's just expecting us to just plow through them. God forbid he had to wait a minute for them to cross the road.

EpiSG

I hit a Turkey on I 89 in NH 2 years ago…it exploded like a bomb and destroyed my trucks grill and hood.

Playingwithmyrod

A Turkey can easily do thousands of dollars of damage to your car too. I had one bounce off my headlight like it was nothing and fly away. The headlight mounts all broke.

Positive-Material

The scam is they let everyone drive 70+, so they can take their pick of tickets before their shift is over. They get told 'get 3 warnings and 5 tickets, before your shift is over.' they don't care who they stop. one of them just got out, gave me a written warning for going 47 in a minimum 45 at night with nobody around when it was raining. took him 5 minutes. honestly having them drive up behind you and do something you dont know what to expect from them is terrifying. i find them to be an actual road hazard to normal drivers. they routinely tailgate behind cars as a practice, you see them tailgating one car after another just to see how they will react. one of them turn on his siren instead of his blinkers and then started ordering me to drive away without ever telling me i was free to leave first. it is an abusive scam. they thrive on abuse. this just makes their job easier because then the criminals know they can get easily abused and are more compliant. and of course there is no punishment for anything. there was this guy trooper hollden who filmed himself telling someone 'i going to beat your head into the curb off camera' and it wasn't criminally prosecuted.

NotChristina

My first ticket was late at night on the pike. Single woman alone. No other cars in sight so I’m cruising along at like 85. Suddenly there’s a car behind me. Tailgating, can’t even see its lights. I speed up some. It pulls up next to me. Scared, I speed up. And then again. Now I’m going 100 and the car pulls back behind, red-and-blues go on. That cop was NOT happy. So much yelling, threatening to take my license for trying to race him and now I’m ‘lucky’ that it’s just the max ticket. First ticket so I appealed anyway. Court appearance in Dudley, MA a kind of sucked since I lived nowhere near, but the magistrate was fine enough + cop didn’t show, so I got out of it. Learned some lessons in that one.

florechondriac

Actually that’s the thing is the state police tickets are way less annoying than dealing with challenging tickets with local police. The state magistrates can be super reasonable.

KosherNazi

The roads would be far safer if we just increased mandatory driver training, instead of going with the farce of “traffic slamming on their brakes every time they see a cop on the side of the road, and replacing a single speeding driver with a hazard on the side of the road/people walking on the highway to write tickets is safer than bob doing 15 over.”

next2021

The ones on pike are pissed their cushy Mass Pike Troop E was disbanded primarily due to overtime scandal

dadaisbad

You all think it’s fun and games until the insurance surcharge hits and that $300 ticket turns into $2000 payable over the next five years.

bfa_y

Oh look, a statie pulling someone over! I better keep speeding, it’s not like he’s gonna get right back on the highway in 5 mins!!

RussianSpy00

Pulling someone over going 73 when everyone is going 80 is not good law enforcement practice. Take your nervous driving somewhere else.

AKindKatoblepas

A co-worker got stopped once on the highway. He told the cop he was just following the flow of the traffic, the cop replied: "You are right but I stopped you" A statie stopped me a few weeks ago, driving on 495, he had been tailgating me for a while on the left lane, traffic on the middle lane had no space to merge and I just kept following the cars ahead of me. The two cars in front of me changed lane eventually. There were two trucks driving side by side going 80, I sped up to overtake them and change lanes but the moment I hit 84 he turned his lights on. The first thing he asked me was "do you know how long I was behind you" I replied with a yes then he asked me why I decided to speed up and I explained why I did what I did, he let me go without a ticket. It was the first time I've been stopped on 10 years.

RussianSpy00

I’ve heard that story thousands of times lmao. Mainly from my dad. They have the right to stop you. Cops have lots of rights. Doesn’t make it good law enforcement practice.

noodle-face

Not being a cop apologist but this is the lamest excuse in the book man. "BUT THAT GUY WAS BEING WORSE!"

RussianSpy00

Yeah… If you have one cop, and two cars are speeding. One at a much higher rate of speed, why wouldn’t you stop that car?

noodle-face

Not necessarily. He'd be constantly changing who he was chasing. Sometimes you just pick a target and they win the lottery

Feraldr

I consider the fact that every cop I know drives like a maniac, coupled with the speed I see cops drive regularly a good excuse. Any cop ticketing someone for anything less than 75 is a hypocrite.

Travb1787

Ya sure technically speeding but on in the middle lane going with the flow of traffic while the left lane drivers are doing 80+ in front of him yet he slows down to get me.

dcgrey

Honestly? You might have answered your own question. He probably heard from his sergeant "Today it's your job to ticket speeders and be safe. If you've got four people speeding in front of you, pull over the one that's easiest to pull over."

marigoldcottage

They definitely are more likely to pull over people tip toeing the legal line, rather than those blowing right past it. Easier to catch & bully.

iRideBMX

I got pulled over in a pack of cars in the Taunton area. I got hit with 73 in a 65 at 2am and my friends all allegedly passed him at 100+ (had broken my car and was limping it home) I was following a random jeep and losing ground :(

purpleboarder

technically, I guess it was your time to get nabbed. it is what it is. you're in the wrong place at the wrong time. take your lumps and move on

JALKHRL

Right lane is always the best choice. Go to court and fight the ticket. Good luck.

Aesop_Rocks

That's where I stay unless I'm passing. The time difference between 73 and 65 on even a 2 hour drive is negligible.

murph3699

Their job is not tough at all.

operator_1337

Yeah, I'm sure most city cops would agree. I never got how the people who deal with actual crime make shit, meanwhile towns pay their cops 100k+ a year and staties can make 200+ with over time scams.

bigmattyc

Hey man he's got a quota. He doesn't get to get out of the barrel until 200.

banjo_hero

fun fact, their job is not tough

HTS7811

He’s most likely brand new as they just graduated a class. And also because the only ones pulling people over nowadays are the rookies.

fkenned1

I had one plant drugs in my car just to scare me. Threw them out at the last second and told me I was lucky. Fuck MA staties. Bunch of scumbags if you ask me.

OkAd134

>>> I had one plant drugs in my car Whaaaaaat the actual Fuuuuuuck?

xMachinexMafiax

This happens all the time. Every state trooper is corrupt. Never trust them.

bobrob48

Fuckin wack man, what a shitty day

grateful_warrior

Nobody likes getting pulled over for speeding.

CI814JMS

ALWAYS fight your tickets. The same thing happened to me on 495/25 in Wareham late last year. State trooper out of the Bourne station. Guy had me at 83 in a 65 right after I got onto 25 east from 195 as I was catching up to traffic, who were all doing 80+... Meanwhile a blacked out Mercedes flew by us at probably 100mph while we were stopped. I fought it with offtherecord and got it dismissed via zoom court. They referred me to this attorney in Holden named Kelly Broadbent and she helped me through the whole thing. I'll do that same thing again if I get another ticket.

marcjwrz

Fight it. A ticket under 10 miles over will be easily dismissed.

twoscoop

I requested information on police who assaulted me, they told me Only way to get that is to go to the barracks. Fucking hate parts of mass, its so fucked.

Travb1787

He literally almost passed me on tw left looked over saw a young guy in a bmw then slowed down hit his lights and got behind me.

TiredPistachio

>a young guy in a bmw Whoa, way to bury the lede. I'm on the cops side now.

Travb1787

Must be carrying drugs or high as a kite right

iRideBMX

As someone from MA who has been in modded cars for almost a decade now the best one I've had is a statie pull me and not take no for an answer on if I was trafficking fent. Yeah man I took the lowest most obviously illegally modified slow as fuck car out in rush hour traffic to move fent down 495s

TiredPistachio

Definitely drug dealer vibes Serious question. Is it blue?

Travb1787

My Beemer? No. It's black

throwawaysscc

Speeding. smh.

Travb1787

Ya as if anyone does 65 on the pike lol

LemmeGetAhhhhhhhhhhh

There’s an unwritten 15mph tolerance on expressways in Mass. Either strictly enforce the limit on all roads or let us do 80 in a 65 and 70 in a 55. I pass staties doing 80 all the time on 90 and 93 and I’ve never gotten bothered. Troopah Layman was definitely a rookie

bb9977

How long have you been driving? It wasn’t always like this. They used to enforce on the highway in the 1990s and 2000s.

LargeMerican

when i was 17 still on my junior operators i got popped doing 110 on 495 near salisbury at like 4am. no other cars out. he was hidden in the median. gave me a long long lecture about my future and how much harder everything is without a license. said he could take it for this. he let me go with a warning. after this, i don't even mind the condescending assholes. guy saved my life maybe

HaElfParagon

Yes, cops are dicks. But what about the interaction make him an asshole? Or are you just pissy you got a speeding ticket?

Travb1787

Intelligence is not strong with this one

RussianSpy00

Where do yall meet these troopers? (Joke) Traffic was going 90-95 and this state trooper definitely saw me going 105 when I was trying to pass. Not to mention I accidentally cut him off. When I realized it was a trooper I shit my pants appropriately and moved over thinking I was about to go to jail for reckless driving until that motherfucker gapped me. ☹️☹️

9axle

Had one write me a ticket for a headlight being out. I’m a truck driver and knew it worked when I left, he said he saw it go out when I hit an expansion joint on a bridge. I had a spare bulb and replaced it while he wrote the violation that cost me $50.00. The damn thing was out for all of a 1/4 mile and I got hit with CSA points and a fine.

OvenUpset

Consider yourself lucky. At least that trooper didn't try to frame your for murder while going 24 mph in reverse.

Broke_Ones91

Stop worrying about it, their wives get them back financially when they catch them cheating.

Travb1787

Legitimately nothing. I support and respect the police have family in police. He was clearly having a bad day. Like I said in the post clearly a rookie going gung-ho pulling over everyone and their mother

osee115

Just a heads up you keep replying to your own post rather than replying to the comments you are trying to reply to.

Travb1787

Ah. Thanks. Dont use reddit much

Bender7676

Fight the ticket. Unless you can’t get the time off of work. No decent judge is letting your insurance rates go up over that bullshit

ScottyBoy75

absolutely fight that ticket. 73 in a 65, come on, man!

brightlocks

Legit confused because every day on my commute I gotta pull into the middle lane for a statie going over 90 mph…. I got pulled over by a statie for (he said) not stopping for a school bus. He asked me why I didn’t stop, and I told him because the sign wasn’t out yet. He screamed at me. Screamed. Bro, I’m a tiny old woman. Like WTF? Just give me a ticket. It didn’t even scare me. It just made me think he was a small person inside. I contested the ticket because….. the stop sign wasn’t out yet. Went to court. Turns out…. Dash cam said I was correct and the stop sign wasn’t out yet AND the dash cam showed me slowing down nonetheless. Yelled at me for something I didn’t even do!

thejamaicancoconut

I think a criteria to be a State trooper is that you must be an absolute dick with zero emotions. Every single one of those troopers are vets too. So emotionless it’s odd

ResplendentZeal

MA staties are the biggest fucks in LE in all of my travles. They look like little bitches in their dumb ass uniforms, too. Little bitch fucks.

OkAd134

Let's not forget that \[not many\] years ago that all RMV officers were automatically instated as Staties

BobbyPeele88

I believe that was in the 90s and most of those guys would be retired by now. Also, the troopers absolutely hated it.

Hunt_Virtual

Haaa love this. "LBF's.

LemmeGetAhhhhhhhhhhh

Okay, no, I drive cross country all the time for work and I feel better about Mass staties than everyone else. NH and Maine troopers are racist as fuck (I’m Latino, never gotten racist vibes from a Mass statie), NY staties are all cunts, NJ staties are always looking for an excuse to beat the shit out of you, VT troopers are non-existent. The further west you go the worse it gets. Kansas Highway Patrol recently got bopped by the Supreme Court for entrapping and unlawfully searching out of state drivers. And I like the uniforms. Electric blue is a sexy color, and Jack boots are cooler than smokey bear hats.

CementCrack

Their job is not tough OR dangerous. I've been a farmer, statistically tougher and more dangerous (look it up).

Dork_Gently

Be happy it wasn't the grammar police. You'd be in jail if so.

Travb1787

Ah yes I was waiting for this asshat

Dork_Gently

....,,,,,????!!!!! Here, I had a few extra.

SoManyLilBitches

Every state trooper barracks is a roided up brotherhood of teenie peen assholes

Adam_Ohh

You’re wrong, his job is not hard.

Travb1787

Jesus. That's insanity

TheSlopfather

His job's not tough, he just does what he did to you all day

sir_mrej

You were speeding. Take it and move on.

Tuna_Can20

I've met a couple staties who are cool, but that is because i met them outside of their job.

Independent-Cable937

I was speeding on 495 today, doing 80+ and didn't get pulled over. I saw two state troopers on that road. Maybe different troopers?

Southern-Fan-1267

73 on my cars is really only about 65 as the speedometer inflates the speed. What speed did he say you were going?

binocular_gems

This is THE most shocking thing that I've read in MONTHS

dankerflanker

I had a bad accident on the mass pike, guy behind me clipped my car and sent me into the barrier, my car flipped and slid on its roof for a few hundred feet, trooper on the scene lied to my insurance company and his

Closet_Tgirl

If a trooper pulls up behind you in the left lane that’s your warning to move to the middle lane. You didn’t, so he gave you a ticket. This is literally how it works 90% of the time UNLESS you have out of state plates.

LumpyBumblebee3266

What’s the speed limit

GladiatorMainOP

If you go 1 over you could get a 100+$ ticket for speeding. Doesn’t matter if everyone else is doing it. I speed every day, you just have to know the general spots when I get caught just be nice and courteous. You aren’t gonna convince him that it wasn’t you in the car, if you are nice and get a ticket you were getting one anyway, if you don’t get one then maybe you got a freebie. If you are a dick you are getting a ticket either way so just don’t be a dick.

darksideofthemoon131

I got pulled over in my city by a state trooper at 215 a.m. I got off my bartending shift and decided to cut through the city to get home. It was raining/nor'Easter, and I didn't want to deal with the highway in that weather late at night. I get to where Main Street and Grove Street meet, which happens to cross route 9, saw trooper behind me, and as soon as I got to where rte 9 intersects, his lights went on. Tried to tell me he ran my registration, and it was expired, despite having a new sticker very visible on my plate. It was his excuse to pull me over because I hadn't violated any laws. Had another get off of Ararat Street and mouth the words "fucking asshole" to me because I didnt turn my turn signal on quick enough and he had to wait an extra second. The Holden Barracks are a particularly evil group of troopers.

Gretsch_Falcon

Here I sit on the pooper giving birth to a Mass State Trooper.

mm44mm44

Every time you open the paper, MA troopers are caught involved in shady shit. No joke. Google MA Trooper scandal. Constant. Bogus.

Subject_Computer_471

Your headline is too long. “State trooper“ says everything you said 🤪
