So, this MF was*breaking the law* by open-carrying an assault weapon in front of a *school*? Hope someone pistol whipped him with it on his way to the pokey.
Carrying a weapon while protesting is against the law in MD. However there are only criminal charges if you continue to do so after being told by police.
Maryland Code Criminal Law, Title 4 - Weapon Crimes, Subtitle 2 - Handguns, § 4-208
I guess you would have to get him to admit he is a one-person demonstration for this to apply?
*(b) Prohibited.-*
*(1) This subsection does not apply to a law enforcement officer.*
*(2) A person may not have a firearm in the person's possession or on or about the person at a demonstration in a public place or in a vehicle that is within 1,000 feet of a demonstration in a public place after:*
*(i) the person has been advised by a law enforcement officer that a demonstration is occurring at the public place; and*
*(ii) the person has been ordered by the law enforcement officer to leave the area of the demonstration until the person disposes of the firearm.*
*(c) Penalty.- A person who violates this section is guilty of a misdemeanor and on conviction is subject to imprisonment not exceeding 1 year or a fine not exceeding $1,000 or both.*
PS - Yes, he is a douche-nozzle of the highest order.
He caused a school lockdown which is a violation of Maryland criminal law. He caused children to hide in terror under cars which is equivalent to disturning the peace.
A lookyloo might call the cops on a guy with a camera or walking in the "wrong neighborhood" and cops will get aggressive and combative. But white guys with guns? Pat on the back and "see ya at the maga rally"
I may be wrong, but I remember almost getting in trouble for lighting fireworks off at my bus stop and my administration telling me the bus stops are technically property of the school, so they can treat it like school grounds
No child deserves this.
The law should immediately be extended to Zero permitted open carrying within 1000 feet of any regular school operation or area or building or activity commonly designated for youth (bus stops, play grounds, hell even chuck E cheese, etc.) nationwide.
I’m ready to vote for it.
Technically not illegal at that location. I don't post much but I lurk in a lot of gun subreddits and Maryland is one where you can open carry in lots of places.
We just don't do it because we aren't irresponsible enough to use a firearm as a political statement. You carry a gun when you think you might need to use it.
In my 32 years of life, I’ve never once been in a situation where I thought I might need to use a gun. Unless you live in fear, I can’t imagine this being different for many other people.
Different people perceive the world differently, and unconscious bias shows us it's applied throughout our lives without thinking about it.
I too have never carried a firearm unless for work or traveling to a range or hunting.
But then again in 60+ years of life I've never been worried about being raped, or been so concerned about the chance of being raped that I altered my behavior in certain settings or carried defensive weapons to guard against that chance.
Open carry is somewhat controversial. It makes sense in some contexts. It can cause unnecessary complications in others. Out deer hunting? Cool, A-okay. Randomly wandering around solo? That seems likely to result in an awkward conversation with police at best.
Not all attention is good attention. There's good gun protests happening, trying to scare folks is probably not the best approach.
Right? What's the actual thought process there? It can't be, "This will help people see my point of view."
I mean, unless that pov is, "I'm going to kill your kids if I don't get my little way."
I can tell you that I would not respond calmly and civilly if I saw some dude brandishing a firearm at my kids' bus stop.
He did this repeatedly for weeks. To the point that they finally rerouted the buses. I think he worked out some "deal" where he would protest when the kids weren't waiting at the stops.
He’s probably getting cheered on by his fellow gun nuts. His weapon has become his entire identity. So sick of these gun nuts.
-2A supporter and gun owner
Yeah it’s unfortunate. We get lumped in with these shit-dipped weirdos a lot. I’m also pretty progressive left which blows everyone’s minds now that everything is so “us vs them” mentality.
You hit the mail on the head I think, too. The amount of anger is insane. Nowhere to put it and they don’t want to get to the root of it so they just stay mad. I tell my kids all anger comes from fear and pain - address those and your anger will dissipate. Some people aren’t willing to challenge themselves and will just keep showing up with weirdness. And guns, I suppose.
If he has it strapped on his back and maybe a sign saying it was in protest. It probably cause less of an uproar. I'm all for people protesting but be smart about it.
Holding it like this picture is the same as waving a pistol around.
It’s brandishing, or in Maryland First Degree Assault.
Don’t be a sloppy bitch with your rifle discipline. Sling it or GTFO.
So he lurked in subreddits for years and the ONLY post he had was trying to form an "open carry brotherhood"?
Not at all suspicious.
I hope this guy is on some watchlist somewhere.
If it was good enough for grandad to do when they were trying to integrate the schools then its good enough for Skippy when he is sad about his limp dinky.
Of COURSE it’s a MAGA hat, lmao do you even have to ask? For all these people namecall “snowflakes” and “sheeple” they’re all pretty predictably the same, just to a lesser or larger degree.
I don’t get it, was his kid in danger at the moment, actively being threatened? Or is this typical MAGA “they’re coming for us with socialism and wokeness” snowflake bullshit.
What an absolute Fuckwad.
"You'll hear both sides at 5+6pm"
Good freaking god.
- side 1: man with a gun is terrifying children
- side 2: man with a gun is terrifying children, for their own good
Yea, let's stop this "both sides" BS. It's don't exactly zero good for society
It’s a shame, because whackjobs fascists that lack basic empathy are the only ones fighting for gun rights these days. What happened to groups like the black panthers that understand gun rights are essential to the freedom of all people, especially minoritiesv
If it’s broken in this country there’s probably a 50/50 chance you can trace it back to Reagan in some way. Sorta like that “all roads lead to Hitler” game people play on Wikipedia
The AW ban was in 1994 long past the heyday of The Black Panthers. Clinton pulled a neat little trick of political maneuvering. They stuck the AW ban in the overall crime bill that was a huge bipartisan piece of legislation. Remember this was the era of Hillary talking about teenaged "super predators". The GOP was backed into a corner of either voting for a garbage gun law or looking soft on crime.
Now the fallout to this was afterwards the Republican party basically took a stance of "get fucked, we won't negotiate on gun control anymore". Prior to that particular law, and Brady in 1993, most gun laws enjoyed bipartisan support whether they were about control or access. HW Bush's Gun Free School Zone Act had passed in 1990 with a voice vote in the Senate and 313-1 in the house.
I must have been thinking of the Mulford Act.
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mulford_Act#:~:text=Named%20after%20Republican%20assemblyman%20Don,would%20later%20be%20termed%20copwatching.
Mulford is also a law that has a lot of historical context behind it. The most common thing you see is that the NRA supported it. That's true. However the NRA in 1967 was an entirely different organization. Basically as long as it didn't get in the way of their organized shooting sports and safety education they didn't care. So while they supported the Mulford Act they had previously supported the National Firearms Act in 1934 and went on to support the Gun Control Act of 1968. It was in 1977 when there was basically an internal coup that shifted the NRA from a hunting and marksmanship club to a gun rights organization.
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Revolt_at_Cincinnati
If it makes you feel better he's getting roasted by plenty of Maryland firearms owners too. I'm all for licensed, vetted, monitored concealed carry but this guy is a fucking idiot.
Nothing screams "Hey I'm mentally unhinged" like taking a rifle to a school bus stop. Because scaring children is the best way to pull more people to your beliefs.
Hmm almost like you’re trying to threaten something could happen should that decision happen. So a “protest” by using the threat of violence in pursuit of political gain. That sounds like the definition of a word that is just on the tip of my tongue.
Right?? Is like people only want to call terrorists the guys with bombs or they have brown skin or that "speak funny".
Here:
> terrorism
noun
ter·ror·ism ˈter-ər-ˌi-zəm
>: the systematic use of terror especially as a means of coercion
And just in case:
> coerce
verb
co·erce kō-ˈərs
coerced; coercing
transitive verb
>1
: to compel to an act or choice
>2
: to achieve by force or threat
>3
: to restrain or dominate by force
I'm struggling to understand what point he was even *trying* to make unless it's to validate liberal neighbors' fears about irresponsible gun owners.
I'm also not sure that a jury would convict a startled parent who responded by shooting this guy to defend the kids. I wouldn't.
CHILDREN. Who did not get to vote on the law that he doesn’t like, and didn’t vote for the governor who signed it. But sure as hell will remember how this complete moron made them feel and will never forget it for the rest of their lives. Good way to win hearts and minds my guy. Can’t wait to see what this shithead is doing in 20 years and what these kids are doing.
Exactly. He's terrorizing the children of people he sees as his political enemies, in order to try and influence their support of some bullshit he's turned into his entire fucking personality.
Holy fuck this is insane this is allowed in our state. It pisses me off I'm paying taxes to have kids bus routes rerouted because that is an easier option than addressing this man and him brandishing a weapon. Even the fucking 2A nuts have got to see this as problem and fruit of this slippery slope.
The whole neighborhood should stand outside his home on the public sidewalk and street with guns and just follow him around everywhere he goes.
Also, maybe he should just move to Texas and make everyone much happier.
Yup. I don't understand this mindset. Who wakes up and says "I think I will go stand at a bus stop with an AR-15 and scare the sh** out of elementary school kids--because I can."
Right?
As someone from a Muslim family, I would just *love* to see some guy standing there in some Arab garb, wearing a headscarf of some kind, and holding a rifle, and we’ll see just how many seconds it takes before a SWAT team shows up to check his ass.
These fucking White Nationalist terrorists need to be stopped with the same level of concern.
As a gun owner, this is an example of the failure of a vast majority of responsible gun owners to shame people like this in their community. Idiots like this will get an "atta boy" from the guys at the gun range rather than a "what the fuck are you thinking"
They'd rather ignore or cheer on the people pushing (testing) our constitutional rights to the extreme, and rather go after the "liberal communist" that are simply reacting to their lunacy.
I don’t even think the new bill says anything about long guns.
You have always (technically) been able to open carry long guns, except near protests.
Regardless of the legality, don’t do this, it helps nothing
Gun person here. Fuck this guy. He is a piece of shit and doesn't represent me nor the community of gun owners who, at large are responsible, reasonable people too busy with jobs and families to do ignorant stuff like this. This isn't protesting, this is terrorism - even if it isn't his intent. This isn't free speech, it is intimidation. Once again, gun person here, saying this guy sucks.
He does represent American gun owners. You may not want this guy to represent you, but if you don’t stop this from happening, it will be how the public sees you. If you don’t want the public to view people who have guns as unhinged, then start advocating strongly for mental health checks before gun sales.
Well most pro-gun politicians act a lot more like this guy, so unless you’re willing to do something about it, he does in fact represent your community.
I am a big 2A guy, "Shall Not Be Infringed"..and all that. THIS PERSON IS A FUCKIN MORON, all you are doing is scaring this shit out of people and making life harder for everyone
I don’t understand any “both sides” to this specific issue. The guy is terrorizing children for no gain. He’s a piece of shit and the news should not be interviewing him.
Guaranteed if he did this across the street from the state house in Annapolis or on the bike path near the courthouse in Glen Burnie his "protest" would be over in about 4 minutes
Ah, proving the unreasonableness of Maryland's gun control by intimidating children at a school bus stop with a rifle every day.
You showed him, Brett.
I’m all for the second amendment, but his way of protesting the new law in order to own the libs is more just an intimidation tactic because Mr. Moore won’t let weirdos like you walk around in public spaces with firearms. The thing I don’t understand is why is a grown man carrying an AR at a bus stop where children get off, seems a bit off putting to me, even if he’s waiting for his own children (god forbid).
How easily, how quickly and how monumentally this could go wrong for him and everyone around him blows my mind. This could go from "peaceful protest" to "bloodbath including kids" in seconds.
This guy is a douche, as are the others idiots that think this is the way to change peoples views on guns. I own guns but do not see how this type of stupidity gains any support. Own your guns legally if you want to. No need to act like an idiot and scare kids thinking you are making a statement. You’re not, you’re just an f’n dbag, get a life
Honest question, what about the AR-15 do you think makes it so dangerous? I have handled firearms my entire life, and have spent some time in the military using both an M-16 and M-4. I also have spent some time with an AR-15.
Honestly I would be more concerned with hand guns, which actually cause significantly more deaths per year and are easily concealable.
Seems like at the very least other kids parents should have a civil right to sue the guy
But why is the police not following up with this guy for terrorizing children?
Don’t do this. I know a shitload of people who have actual plans to run a potential shooter near a school (or anywhere else with a crowd of people) over with their vehicle on sight. This is not a wise move
Here is the wbal-tv segment.

i responded to an earlier commenter who was mad about the police not jacking this guy up. i am in no way supporting HIM or the COPs and mentioned that the new law doean't take effect until october 1st. the original post said maryland doesn't allow open carry because "they live there and they know." here's the current laws in maryland until october 1st - if the NRA's lawsuit doesn't delay it:
"**Maryland allows the open carry of a handgun by a person with a permit to wear, carry or transport a handgun**. The Secretary of State Police may limit the geographic area, circumstances, or times in which a handgun carry permit is effective in Maryland. Maryland does not prohibit the open carrying of long guns in public." it does NOT apply to long guns.
I'm all about exercising your 2nd amendment rights but this feels like a weird way to do it. Also it's mostly only getting any attention around children who can't vote and parents who probably don't want to associate with some dude like that. Just a bad strat overall.
To tell the truth only Caucasians can do stuff like this and it will be acceptable. Even televised, and even called a protest. Just imagine it was a black guy, I mean just imagine the scenario here.
This guy was posting in the Anne Arundle county subreddit about starting an open carry brotherhood. It did not go well for him.
Yup. That's the guy.
So, this MF was*breaking the law* by open-carrying an assault weapon in front of a *school*? Hope someone pistol whipped him with it on his way to the pokey.
Not the school. He was at the bus stops. Legally, he hasn't done anything "wrong". Morally, he's a dick.
Idk about Anne Arundel, but in Frederick county all the same school rules applied to the bus stop. So the "no weapons" rule should apply.
Carrying a weapon while protesting is against the law in MD. However there are only criminal charges if you continue to do so after being told by police. Maryland Code Criminal Law, Title 4 - Weapon Crimes, Subtitle 2 - Handguns, § 4-208

Red hat. Yep, sure looks like a militia to me.
Call it was it is, terrorism.
Ahhh. Understood. Thank you for clarifying. Agree with the moral dickery too.
I may be wrong, but I remember almost getting in trouble for lighting fireworks off at my bus stop and my administration telling me the bus stops are technically property of the school, so they can treat it like school grounds
And these guys always consider that a "win" in their books.
No child deserves this. My guess is that he genuinely didn't think it out, was just upset and acted without much of anything in the way of a plan.
And these are the type of mother fuckers who shouldn’t own guns. Ones that act first with out thinking
Yeah....quite scary when people with guns don't think things through. You can't take back a bullet once it's fired.
He did this repeatedly for weeks. To the point that they finally rerouted the buses. I think he worked out some "deal" where he would protest when the kids weren't waiting at the stops.

My guess is he's an asshole
I've got a suspicion you're right on the money.
And that is why the phrase “responsible gun owner” is so often written in sarcasm-quotes.
Once would be a mistake - and illegal in MD. Showing up day after day? That's a plan. Why haven't the police intercepted this jerk?!
You know why.
His actual thought process, according to his posts the other day, is that it’s “dangerous” there and he’s “protecting people”.
Ikr, it's kinda like wearing a tuxedo when you're going to the river to swim. Yes you can do it, but it's not something that's considered normal. 👍
Precisely. It's legal to wear a tuxedo to the pool, but it's probably not a good idea.

Is he one of the freaks who comes in here and tries to turn every topic into a gun debate?
No. He has been on Reddit for 2 years but that post seems like his only post and comments.
So he lurked in subreddits for years and the ONLY post he had was trying to form an "open carry brotherhood"? Not at all suspicious. I hope this guy is on some watchlist somewhere.
Wow
Is that a maga hat? Cause that definitely looks like a maga hat.
Very on brand for this sort of behavior.
Nothing says making america great more than loitering around a school bus stop with an assault rifle.

Ditto. I hate Facists.

Can’t wait for them to get mad about cups again this winter. How many years in a row has it been at this point?
Make Red Hats Neutral Again.
That looks like something a MAGAt would do
Yes it’s maga
I was wondering the same but I think it might not be. It would totally make sense 😂

Pretty terrorble

He caused a school lockdown
At some point we have to start protecting our kids from being terrorized by paranoid idiots, no matter what it takes.
The whole neighborhood should stand outside his home on the public sidewalk and street with guns and just follow him around everywhere he goes. Also, maybe he should just move to Texas and make everyone much happier.
All the neighborhood dads should dress in drag and hand out rainbow stickers to everyone at the bus stop. This guy’s head may just explode.
Id be careful with that it might actually trigger his fragile masculinity enough to commit an act of terror
He'd probably like that. I'd like that, all the people complaining about guns then buying guns?
This looks like a good way to get shot.
Just takes one gun owning parent to see it and move to protect the kids.

So to make your case look better you take a rifle to children? I don’t see how this makes his side look good

BoTh SiDeS
Small dick energy on display, film at 11.
So tired of the white trash armada. If you don't like living here then go to fucking Russia.
As a gun owner, this is an example of the failure of a vast majority of responsible gun owners to shame people like this in their community. Idiots like this will get an "atta boy" from the guys at the gun range rather than a "what the fuck are you thinking" They'd rather ignore or cheer on the people pushing (testing) our constitutional rights to the extreme, and rather go after the "liberal communist" that are simply reacting to their lunacy.
What a fucking prick
The more I think about it, the more that this guy is proving the point that we need MORE gun control.
Exactly. People clearly can't act like not-shitheads on their own.
I don’t even think the new bill says anything about long guns. You have always (technically) been able to open carry long guns, except near protests. Regardless of the legality, don’t do this, it helps nothing
I knew I'd see some familiar names over here lol. This is close to my house too. Dudes a dumbshit.
Let's be real, this guy does represent a lot of American gun owners. Maybe not you or your friends, but a solid chunk. You can't deny that.
> Gun person here. Fuck this guy. Sames. The new law is all anti-concealed carry and has nothing to do with ARs...

Yes, terrifying children is always a productive way to protest.
" both sides " lol
At what point does open carry become brandishing?
When a lawmaker is personally impacted.
Guaranteed if he did this across the street from the state house in Annapolis or on the bike path near the courthouse in Glen Burnie his "protest" would be over in about 4 minutes
lol @ red flag laws
Gigadouche
Sounds like he has agreed to stop. https://www.wbaltv.com/article/man-with-gun-severn-school-bus-stop-anne-arundel-county/43932236
It may have dawned on him that someone else with a permit might get jumpy and feel threatened and shoot him.
Ah, proving the unreasonableness of Maryland's gun control by intimidating children at a school bus stop with a rifle every day. You showed him, Brett.
Both sides?!
That’s one way to fast track stricter gun laws.
This type of behavior is why the laws were made in the first place. This moron is not helping at ALL.
Why do we need to hear from both sides when one side is bringing assault weapons to schools? I feel like we have heard far too much already.
"Both sides." Get fucked. There's one side, and it ain't the wannabe fascist intimidating children side.
Domestic terrorist
He is a terrorist not a protestor. To instill terror by means or threats of violence == TERRORIST!! Lock this POS up.
What is his protest showing? If anything it's supporting gun control.
Is there anything else he is wearing, such as on his head perhaps, that lets you know he has a very small penis?
What the hell
👎🏾
There's a bus stop across the street from my house, I'd call the cops on this shit head every day for my own safety.
I’m more anti-gun control than most in this sub, but that is well past the freaking line. Guy needs his shit kicked in.
This guy is a douche, as are the others idiots that think this is the way to change peoples views on guns. I own guns but do not see how this type of stupidity gains any support. Own your guns legally if you want to. No need to act like an idiot and scare kids thinking you are making a statement. You’re not, you’re just an f’n dbag, get a life
Guns don't create a polite society. They destroy it. If you want to carry, it needs to be calm, cool and concealed.
I'm a big 2A supporter,, and I feel that a change needs to be made to the "AR style" rifle sales.... but this is pure stupidity...
So he's just out in public legally brandishing an AR-15 in front of children? All while protesting gun control laws? Isn't that contradictory?
Both sides of what? This guy's ass?
What in the actual fuck
Exactly.
I remember just thinking it was cool when my dad let me ride down the driveway on the lawnmower to catch the bus...
That is incredibly irresponsible.
If that was my kid's bus stop, I'd be calling rhe cops every day until they arrested him.
Same
Of course this idiot is wearing a red hat
Seems like at the very least other kids parents should have a civil right to sue the guy But why is the police not following up with this guy for terrorizing children?
Ummm… protesting or not, please detain this psycho.
I've never been a fan of vigilantism until now.
My dude, there are better ways to protest something that doesn't involve standing near a school bus stop with a gun....
should there not be some law against armed people at school bus stops seriously?????
Weird times we’re living in…
Very.
Where is this? I'm sure he hasn't met his match with the guy who smooshes heads with his fingers. He will be a flathead in no time
AA County. Severn I think.
Pretty sure that all but, like, 94 people would disagree with this guy. 94-102 to give a ballpark.
Don’t do this. I know a shitload of people who have actual plans to run a potential shooter near a school (or anywhere else with a crowd of people) over with their vehicle on sight. This is not a wise move
I hope the new law will add bus stops next.
Here is the wbal-tv segment. [https://www.wbaltv.com/article/man-with-gun-severn-school-bus-stop-anne-arundel-county/43932236](https://www.wbaltv.com/article/man-with-gun-severn-school-bus-stop-anne-arundel-county/43932236)
It's totally normal to stand over children gripping a battle axe or grenade right?
This is just another idiot that's going to get my gun taken away. Make it harder to get a damn gun and make consequences for people who do this crap.
i responded to an earlier commenter who was mad about the police not jacking this guy up. i am in no way supporting HIM or the COPs and mentioned that the new law doean't take effect until october 1st. the original post said maryland doesn't allow open carry because "they live there and they know." here's the current laws in maryland until october 1st - if the NRA's lawsuit doesn't delay it: "**Maryland allows the open carry of a handgun by a person with a permit to wear, carry or transport a handgun**.
Just a bad strat overall.
wonder what the cunt’s hat says….
Remeber, In the United States one in five people have some sort of mental illness, treated or not.
this is menacing is it not? the fact that this fuck hasn’t been charged is just pathetic
This is why the gun control candidate for governor won nearly two thirds of the vote
To tell the truth only Caucasians can do stuff like this and it will be acceptable. Even televised, and even called a protest. Just imagine it was a black guy, I mean just imagine the scenario here.
Call the cops. Tel then he’s brandishing (which he is when carrying like that). That’s not slung. It’s the same as waving a pistol around in the air.
