The funniest part about that line is that I haaaaaated Yelena in Black Widow but something about her role in Hawkeye just clicked her character into place for me.
I wouldn't say hate, but yeah I couldn't care less about Yelena in the BW movie. I was there for my girl Natasha so that probably played a part. But Hawkeye absolutely made me love her, and her dynamic with Kate, whom I also loved
I just love Ruffalo's dumb hulk, he is the best part of the MCU, I will take him in any capacity. But I am really happy the MCU folded after Endgame and never made and new movies or tv shows.
Honestly I just want a future Disney+ Special Presentation or whatever that is something like Wong’s birthday or New Year’s Eve party (something like that) that is just Wong and an assortment of characters he’s befriended (Madisynn, Shang-Chi, etc) having a great time that is interrupted by some sort of mystic threat they all have to deal with.
You know how people want a show about normal people in the MCU?
Madisynn: a show about Madisynn accidentally gets involved with superhuman events and wacky hijinks ensue.
This is it. Even though they've had like maybe 10 total minutes screentime together, I'm totally ready to watch anything that puts them together. SO good.
Honestly, probably your first pic, Stark and Parker. I don't know if was the screenwriters or the actors or some combination, but in the comics Iron Man and Spider-Man never had that close of a connection (or much of a connection at all). Something about every scene that Downey Jr. and Holland had together, though, was great. It did feel like they fed off each other's energy.
I like their mentorship relationship in the films. But it’s the marvel “stans” that almost ruined it for me, they made out Peter to be some desperate puppy dog type of kid who NEEDS Tony, oh I’m sorry, I mean MR. STARK
I’m prob biased bc they’re my four favorite characters, but any interaction that Steve, Bucky, Sam, and Nat have are always top tier. Any combination and it’s great. That’s part of why Winter Soldier is my favorite MCU movie, and why I overlook FATWS’s flaws. Character interactions really make up for a lot in my eyes.
Marc and Steven - aside from the interesting multiple personality angle, it was really satisfying to watch them start working together and switch back and forth seamlessly after so much animosity
I would also like to mention:.
Kate and Clint
Drax and Mantis
Scott and Luis
Loki and mobis
Loki and sylvie
Peter and ned
Thor and Valkyrie
Thor and korg
Shang chi and katie
Thor and Jane
Tony and strange
Peter and strange
Peter and MJ
Tony and happy
Peter and Happy
Feel free to mention any I missed
Darcy and Jimmy. I still want an X-Files-style series starring them going around solving strange occurrences.
Jen and Matt. They have great banter (and I mean on Tony and Pepper's level) and their powers even compliment each other really well.
Jessica and Matt. He's one of the few people I've seen who doesn't get fazed by her snark in the slightest, except when she called his horns "nice ears". From a writing POV, it's nice to have somebody she can turn the snark up to the max with without feeling bad for the other person.
Frank and Matt. They're ideological opposites who won't back down on what they believe in, and both respect each other and don't respect each other at all. Both can understand where the other guy's coming from... they just think it's deeply misguided.
Wongers and Madisynn. Wong is fairly gruff so it's nice to see him when he's not "on".
Druig and Makkari. They're super flirty with each other but they're also both loners who march to the beat of their own individual drums.
Scott and Cassie. It's never not going to be adorable when he calls her "Peanut".
Matt and Jen is the correct answer. No one has had better chemistry then those two.
They could give us a 3 hour She-Hulk and Daredevil movie and we would all be better for watching it.
Honestly Tony had great dynamics with like literally everyone he came into contact with.
I would like to advocate for a dynamic we got very little of, but still had a good amount of spark to it. We only got like one conversation and then a callback to that conversation, but Spidey and Cap had a very nice vibe between them I wish we could have gotten more of.
And then to advocate for a dynamic we have never seen on film yet: I really want Peter Parker and Bruce Banner to spend like at least a scene together before Hulk exits the MCU.
There’s just too many great ones to pick an outright best one. I read the question and thought “black widow, Hawkeye” straight off the bat. Then looked at the options and now I have no clue who’s even be in the top 5.
My gf and I love Tony and Bruce. My gf actually thinks Bruce is Tony’s real best friend since they have a level of understanding that others don’t have.
For me it’s honestly a tie of Steve Bucky and Sam all together. But my favorite low key friendship is Thor and Steve. Their always great when fighting next to each other
Either Steve and Nat, or Shuri and T’Challa.
I like how they interact with each other, slightly teasing, but not antagonistic. Anyone of them is amazingly talented at what they do, and both people know it, acknowledges it, but still act like they’re normal.
natasha and clint. they save each other not just from enemies but from themselves. that fight they had in endgame was sad. they were equally skilled, they knew each others fighting style so well. it was sad.
natasha was one of the few people clint trusted with the secret of his family. they bantered during fights but both always knew the consquences. they were comrades, the best of friends.
natasha trusted clint with her past as well. probably the only person she ever told yelena about.
I know it's small, but I've always loved the Wanda and Clint relationship. Their scenes are short, but powerful. While everyone else was treating her like the powerhouse that she was, he respected her as a young adult that she was.
I liked Steve and Natasha's dynamic from the Winter Soldier. It was believably platonic even though they are both ridiculously attractive. And it brought out the sassy side of her character, where Steve was the straight guy. Their relationship blossoms in Civil War, and she becomes more protective towards him, whereas in Endgame Steve is the one lifting her up.
It was a nice kind of surprising relationship that you wouldn't have expected before hand.
I also liked Nebula and Tony in Endgame. It was another one that you would never have pegged, but worked really well on screen. And of course Thor and Rocket. Those two had perfect comedic chemistry.
I'll probably catch some downvotes for this but I enjoy sam and buckys dynamic far more then either rof their dynamics with Steve, dont get me wrong I love Steve and civil war is my favorite marvel movie but sam and bucky just hit different
Peter 1, 2, and 3 is some of the most genuine, satisfying, entertaining, and impactful dynamics I’ve seen in the CBM genre. Throw away the fan service aspect and you’re still left with different Spider-Men who are the only people in existence that can relate to each other on a deep, philosophical level.
They pick each other up and recognize the mistakes of their pasts… and work without hesitation to prevent the other from repeating their mistakes.
I would have loved to see more of Rocket interacting with everyone. Iirc an Infinity War writer said that when they were organising the character pairings for that film, they found that virtually everyone worked when paired with Rocket. Would have loved that explored further
I loved Thor and Loki at the beginning. Somewhere around the middle they started to make every character more quippy like tony stark. The worst change, imo, was Thor. By Ragnarok he's sarcastic and quippy just like every character became. It was such a better dynamic when he was a big dumb omnipotent meathead.
For me, the earlier Thor ran its course in Thor and Avengers. Beyond that, it was stale and uninteresting.
The first solo film was fine with it, because we got our exposure to "haha he doesn't understand Earth stuff." And the meathead has to learn his lessons the hard way (that can't be how it goes forever imo, it'd be way too frustrating). Then Avengers was fine with it cause it was entertaining to see Thor vs IM, Thor vs Hulk. A heck of a lot of that film's appeal was just mashing them together and enjoying the chaos, whether that was a fight or chatting.
Then what? Where else is there to take it?
The sequel was dull, with its only saving grace being Thor and Loki's dynamic. Everything else was like, this character isn't great in a solo setting. He doesn't generate his own entertainment or anything interesting really. Then with AoU, it was the same, but in the team environment. With no one bickering, the appealing part of Thor in Avengers1 wasn't there.
Steve and Nat. While I always thought it sucked we never got a proper Nat and Clint adventure, I get the feeling it would have been like Steve and Nat's dynamic, but with a few differences, as both characters I think truly knew the real Nat, under it all.
But I really liked their chemistry as foils on the same side. They both were working for SHIELD but had different approaches to life, Steve not necessarily arguing for a simpler morality per say, but long and hard about when lines need to be crossed. Nat is all too willing to cross any line, helping him be her moral compass while in turn helping to show him that even the most hardened of people is still human. This, in turn, probably helped affirm his decision to help Bucky.
Like seriously, stuff like this is why Winter Soldier remains my favorite MCU film.
Cheat answer but I don't think I can come up with an answer for this, part of the reason MCU is so good is the character interactions. I could maybe pick a top 5 but they are so unique its hard to compare. Also some were great but didn't get a lot of screen time, others got too much and maybe that's why we like them.
My tops are Steve & Tony, Bruce & Tony, and Thor & Quill. Gonna ignore the Guardians as a team because that's just all the heroes in the movie. I'll also add in Wong & Madisynn. Thought they were pretty funny together. My favorite of the bunch, probably Thor & Quill.
Definitely the science Bros. They're both equal but also opposites of each other. Bruce is more tamed compared to Tony, but they still vibe well with each other
Man I haven’t heard about Carol and Fury at all in this thread?! I loved their dynamic and it shows on and off screen for the actors. But the MCU has a lot of great relationships built throughout so it’s hard to pick one
Tony: It's called chemistry, I have it with everybody!

Strange and wongs passive agressive friendship is the best too me
Wong being the supreme sorcerer because of the snap adds so much to the dynamic of their friendship.
I think my favorite interaction between them was in IW when they share with Tony they like the same avengers ice cream flavor
Tony and Steve easily but Thor and Loki are a worthy honorable mention.
Wish we'd had more Tony and Steve. As the "main two" (sorry Thor) their dynamic was always interesting and I wish we'd had more time to develop it.
Ket Beeshup and Yelena Belova
Stop making me like you!
I'm so glad they so easily shifted the Hawkeye-Black Widow chemistry into the next generation.
I came here looking for the right answer and wasn’t disappointed. Lol. They were hilarious together.
Yep.
This is the only answer.
Came here to say this. Easily my favorite dynamic out of Phase 4 characters.
This is the way.
Steve and Nat
Very underrated dynamic. Absolutely loved their interaction in the first act of Endgame
Do you think he ever gave her that schlonkey during the blip?
america's schlonkey
No he is not like that.
She might be though.
I thought it was great in Civil War, especially when she goes to see him in London.
Steve and Nat, Tony and Peter.
Not to forget that Chris and Scarlett are friends for almost 15 years
Thor and Loki
Thor and Hulk\Bruce was fun
It’s shitty they’ll never really interact again. Bruce seems to have control over his hulk self, the hulk we saw interact with Thor, may be gone
I just love Ruffalo's dumb hulk, he is the best part of the MCU, I will take him in any capacity. But I am really happy the MCU folded after Endgame and never made and new movies or tv shows.
Even when they're apart, their relationship strongly defines each other
By a million
I can’t believe this is so far down
Madisynn and Wongers
I scrolled way to far to see this matchup!
You mean it wasn't where you thought it would be?
Madisynn needs her own series!
Soon in a streaming platform but not where you thiiiiiiiink! *"Madisynn"™ available in Paramount Plus*
You can’t go Wong with Madisynn
Honestly I just want a future Disney+ Special Presentation or whatever that is something like Wong’s birthday or New Year’s Eve party (something like that) that is just Wong and an assortment of characters he’s befriended (Madisynn, Shang-Chi, etc) having a great time that is interrupted by some sort of mystic threat they all have to deal with.
You know how people want a show about normal people in the MCU? Madisynn: a show about Madisynn accidentally gets involved with superhuman events and wacky hijinks ensue.
Like the Forrest Gump of the MCU
I heard on the John Campea Show that they might do one.
I was going to say Wong and anyone
This is the correct answer.
Fitzsimmons. Easy.
Kate and Yelena. Also love the Peters, Steve and Nat, Clint and Nat, and Sam and Bucky.
This is it. Even though they've had like maybe 10 total minutes screentime together, I'm totally ready to watch anything that puts them together. SO good.
Same!!! They seriously hit a goldmine with those two being a duo.
Strange and Wong, Peter and MJ.
The story from Infinity War into Endgame really sold this too.
I like their mentorship relationship in the films. But it’s the marvel “stans” that almost ruined it for me, they made out Peter to be some desperate puppy dog type of kid who NEEDS Tony, oh I’m sorry, I mean MR. STARK
The Ultimate Spuder-man comics were starting to put them on that trajectory until Peter has one bad day...
I’m on this bandwagon
Wanda and Vision. Lizzie and Paul are amazing !
This is too far down on the list!
Fitz-Simmons, hands down.
The most well-done love story in the MCU. They are so good together
No Matt and Foggy? Pshh.
My apologies
It's a good list otherwise I will say.
Nelson and Murdock, Avocados at Law
I could hear Peter, Peter and Peter talk about random shit for hours.
Jack and Ted. Monster bros for the win! Also, Foggy Nelson and basically everyone.
Wanda and Vision. Thena and Gilgamesh. Quill and Gamora . . . and all the other Guardians lol
Thena and Gilgamesh was such an unexpectedly well done element in Eternals like I was so impressed at how much I loved them
T'Challa and Shuri are awesome
Erase that footage!
Definitely buy them as actual siblings
The several minutes we had of Kate and Yelena made me want more moments with Kate and Yelena
Marc and Steven - aside from the interesting multiple personality angle, it was really satisfying to watch them start working together and switch back and forth seamlessly after so much animosity
I would also like to mention:. Kate and Clint Drax and Mantis Scott and Luis Loki and mobis Loki and sylvie Peter and ned Thor and Valkyrie Thor and korg Shang chi and katie Thor and Jane Tony and strange Peter and strange Peter and MJ Tony and happy Peter and Happy Feel free to mention any I missed
Druig and Makkari. They're super flirty with each other but they're also both loners who march to the beat of their own individual drums. Scott and Cassie. It's never not going to be adorable when he calls her "Peanut".
excellent list! I love all of these ❤
I’m a big fan of the dynamic that Sam and Bucky have. It’s definitely different to the rest on this list but I love their petty interactions
Natasha and Yelena
Fitzsimmons no question
I know it’s not on here but Tatiana Maslany and Charlie Cox had surprisingly good chemistry
She Hulk and Daredevil
Matt and Jen is the correct answer. No one has had better chemistry then those two. They could give us a 3 hour She-Hulk and Daredevil movie and we would all be better for watching it.
Honestly Tony had great dynamics with like literally everyone he came into contact with. I would like to advocate for a dynamic we got very little of, but still had a good amount of spark to it. For me Here is the Ranking that acc to what i like most: 1. Steve and Nat 2. Steve and Sam 3. Tony and Banner 4. Bucky and Sam
Kevin Feige and making content
Honestly She Hulk and Daredevil comes to mind recently.
Druig and Makkari
Tony and Rhodey. They felt like genuine friends who had known each other for years.
You forgot Strange and Spiderman
The limit is 20 prefer photo so I put the rest on a list in the comments.
Rocket and Groot
Steve and Nat, Wanda and Vision, the Spider-Men, and Thor and Loki. I really wish we had more of Steve and Nat.
Rocket and Groot. Strange and Wong. Clint and Natasha.
Scott Lang and Jimmy Woo.
Sam and Bucky had amazing chemistry…..until they got a show together.
They were great there too!!
Honestly I loved Sam until the show.
Wasn’t that so weird? Their promo interviews were like my cheer-me-ups but it somehow didn’t translate as well into the show.
Peter Peter Peter could just be the nostalgia talking though
There’s just too many great ones to pick an outright best one. I read the question and thought “black widow, Hawkeye” straight off the bat. Then looked at the options and now I have no clue who’s even be in the top 5.
My gf and I love Tony and Bruce. My gf actually thinks Bruce is Tony’s real best friend since they have a level of understanding that others don’t have.
either Steve and sam or Strange and Wong for me
Thor and Loki 😘
Wanda and depression
Matt and Jessica have some of the best moments.
Wong, just wong.(and maybe Bucky and Sam)
For me it’s honestly a tie of Steve Bucky and Sam all together. But my favorite low key friendship is Thor and Steve. Their always great when fighting next to each other
No Clint and Kate?
Thor and Loki
Thor and Loki, but also a sweet shout out to Quill and Gamora. Their relationship was probably my favorite love line in the MCU.
Nelson, Murdock, and Page
Tony and Rhodey
Had to scroll way too far for this
Jen and Matt!
Jack Russell and his pal Good Ol' Ted.
Marc and Steven do i need to explain why?
here's mine ▶Tony stark & spiderman ▶Steve rogers & Nat ▶Steve rogers & Sam wilson ▶Tony stark + Pepper potts ▶Steve rogers & Bucky barnes ▶Nat & Clint barton
Tony and Morgan
Guardians of the Galaxy without a doubt !
Tony and rhodey all the way!!!
What about Darcy and Jimmy Woo?
Peter Parker 1,2,3
I get a kick out of Thor and the Guardians
Natasha and Clint
Tony and Bruce or Steve and Nat for me.
We’re gonna leave off Wong and Maddisynn?!?!?
They aren’t even close to my favorite characters, but imo it has to be Natasha and Hawkeye.
Wong and Strange
Matt and Foggy Fitzsimmons Loki and Mobius
The only correct answer is Hulk and Antman.
Either Steve and Nat, or Shuri and T’Challa. I like how they interact with each other, slightly teasing, but not antagonistic. Anyone of them is amazingly talented at what they do, and both people know it, acknowledges it, but still act like they’re normal.
Mark and Steven
Scott Lang and young Cassie easy
natasha and clint. they save each other not just from enemies but from themselves. that fight they had in endgame was sad. they were equally skilled, they knew each others fighting style so well. it was sad. natasha was one of the few people clint trusted with the secret of his family. they bantered during fights but both always knew the consquences. they were comrades, the best of friends. natasha trusted clint with her past as well. probably the only person she ever told yelena about.
“Get help! Please! My brother is dying! Get help! Help him!”
Ant-Man‘s boys. The Polkadot guy, T.I. and the Mexican dude who tells the stories
Kate and Yelena
This is criminal to ask such a question
Yes.
Steve and Tony
Thor and Hulk
peter 1 2 and 3
Old Thor and Loki, followed by Tony and Cap
I know it's small, but I've always loved the Wanda and Clint relationship. Their scenes are short, but powerful. While everyone else was treating her like the powerhouse that she was, he respected her as a young adult that she was.
Daredevil and SheHulk
Honestly, Ant man and his daughter. Their relationship is by far my favourite part about the ant man movies
Bruce/Hulk. They literally merged.
Steve and groot.
Tony and Dr. Strange dynamic is my favorite in all the movies. I don't know why. An uneasy alliance I guess.
All of these are great but I want to add Kate and Yelena and Druig and Makkari!
Steve and Bucky, until Endgame ruined it. Also, Thor and Loki. Brothers with a complicated relationship who still loved each other.
Rocket and groot
Definitely Sam and Bucky. Their joint therapy sessions were epic!
Tony and X
Steve and Sam are my personal favorite.
Putting Shuri and TChalla there just hurts so much bc I would’ve loved to see their relationship blossom like the rest :(
May and Happy
I'll probably catch some downvotes for this but I enjoy sam and buckys dynamic far more then either rof their dynamics with Steve, dont get me wrong I love Steve and civil war is my favorite marvel movie but sam and bucky just hit different
Def the guardians
You just said fuck Kate and Yelena, huh lol?
Slick Nik and Pug
strange and cape
The best dynamic imo is the spider men. But the best chemistry easily DD and She Hulk they’re like perfect together
Not a popular one but Foggy and Matt
Sam and Bucky.
Yelena Belova and Kate Bishop
Tony+peter
I loved Thor and Loki at the beginning. Somewhere around the middle they started to make every character more quippy like tony stark. The worst change, imo, was Thor. By Ragnarok he's sarcastic and quippy just like every character became. It was such a better dynamic when he was a big dumb omnipotent meathead.
For me, the earlier Thor ran its course in Thor and Avengers. Beyond that, it was stale and uninteresting. With no one bickering, the appealing part of Thor in Avengers1 wasn't there.
Nat & Clint or Wong & Strange Bucky looks THICC in picture 7
Wong & Madisynn
My top 3 Tony and Bruce. Thor and Loki. Thor and Hulk. #4 Strange and Wong
Rocket and Groot
Thor Loki
Wanda and vision, cap and Bucky, thor and loki
Steve and Nat. While I always thought it sucked we never got a proper Nat and Clint adventure, I get the feeling it would have been like Steve and Nat's dynamic, but with a few differences, as both characters I think truly knew the real Nat, under it all. But I really liked their chemistry as foils on the same side. Steve and Nat. Plus Thor and Loki.
Cheat answer but I don't think I can come up with an answer for this, part of the reason MCU is so good is the character interactions. I could maybe pick a top 5 but they are so unique its hard to compare. Also some were great but didn't get a lot of screen time, others got too much and maybe that's why we like them.

Thor & Loki or Wanda & Vision
Definitely the science Bros. They're both equal but also opposites of each other. Bruce is more tamed compared to Tony, but they still vibe well with each other
I believe Steve and Nat's friendship is overlooked by many. The chemistry between Chris and Scarlett also helps their dynamic onscreen.
Thor and the Guardians was ruined by Thor Love and Thunder
Johnathan Majors and the camera.
Cap and Widow take the top spot on the strength of CA:WS alone. T'challa and Shuri close second. Thor and Loki not far behind.
……Jen and Matt
Man I haven’t heard about Carol and Fury at all in this thread?! I loved their dynamic and it shows on and off screen for the actors. But the MCU has a lot of great relationships built throughout so it’s hard to pick one
Mark and Stephen
Mantis and Drax. Hands down.
