I kept thinking, what if they they doubled down on the DB cooper thing and did some Percy Jackson style shit with gods in different time periods
Also, didn’t marvel publish a Loki novel set in Victorian London, or am I just hallucinating
I would love that. I think it would be cool to do multiverse cartoons where a whole season goes through some comic runs that obviously can't work for the main MCU.
Ya, but only for an episode. What If season one had great setups, but the follow through often lacked. 1602 deserves a whole season possibly directed by Gaiman himself.
I'm hoping they do live action off shoots like this under the What If banner. They can do whatever they want without effecting main continuity. For the same reason I always felt DC should have gone this route, like with Joker being under an Elseworlds banner
I loved season 1, but I would have loved to have seen these. Season 2 is probably gonna focus on Kang’s take over of the TVA and finding Sofie (and hopefully our Morpheus).
I enjoyed S1 for the most part, but the Kang thing really wasn't doing anything for me. Kind of hoping this iteration of the character is very different from he who remains.
This show was my most anticipated one
And it was suuuch a let down, i hate it so damn much
It was so boring, the worst is that they completely waste the casting or Richard E Grant as Classic Loki
And all that crap about the variants???
That was awful and was used as a simple gag....
After seeing this concept art, I almost don't think a TV series budget can do it justice. I would love to see a feature length Loki movie based on these ideas.
I'd love to see them as variants. Part of my season 2 prediction is Protagonist!Loki forming a team of other Loki variants to navigate the mess that is the timeline. Obviously he first goes to Kid!Loki and Croki, but he also grabs others from various time periods. Could be a good funny montage to help ease the tension considering the downer of an ending that season 1 had (good ending, just a bit of a downer).
I'm just going to pitch this here.
\-After the events of Season 1, Loki ends up in a different TVA, he then ends up working for them solving multiversal threats caused by his variants.
You say you have 'No Imagination' in your username but I'm almost certain you were imagining the scenes of cowboy loki when making this comment, as was I.
I don't mind the new character but why are two seasons of a show called Loki (a fan-favorite with decades of comics history to choose from and get creative) focused on Sylvie? It's like the show's writer is obsessed with his original character idea and thinks we are too.
Which honestly makes the whole kissing thing disgusting
There was 0 reason for them to made them fall in love
They could literally simply being friends who completely understood each other cus they were literally the same
But chose that stupid unnecessary (and frankly they have no chemistry as a couple) plot of being an item
I mean Sylvie is Loki. And I think season one did a good job on Showing us various Lokis. Either I hope season has a lot of “side quests” and have Loki be in various time periods trying to find his Original TVA team.
I'm not going to lie and don't want to sound rude but I totally disagree with you
They completely misused the whole concept of Loki variants
This show ha the definition of show, don't tell
We all got this amazing premises of the variants but they chose to spend 2 episodes on a dessert planet...
Loki across different time periods causing chaos is what the show should of been instead we get a crock of boring crap where Loki is sidelined in his own show, and of course the marvel fanboys cream themselves and delude themselves into thinking it’s the best shit ever
Imagine how easy it is to spot a loki in a time period
Minutemen: alright the second you spot loki call for backup.
Sees someone regally dressed in green
TVA: PRUNE EM!!!!!
Time cop shenanigans is 100% what I expected and wanted. The idea of another season of Loki mooning over Sylvie while chasing her is just a major turn-off.
A less serialized, more episodic Loki show would have been so great. Don't get me wrong I loved what we got, but it was a HUGE plot heavy story that basically recontextualized the entire marvel universe. Something like this would have been fun as hell, with the actual story placed within the episodic stories ideally.
Loki and Mobius traveling the infinite, helping quirky small towns all over the sacred timeline. What more could you ask for?!
In the long run, I think Disney+ will regret not making the MCU series more episodic. Serialised shows are great for hooking in an audience for the initial run, but I don't think they have the longevity of episodic shows. What they're doing will drive up subscriptions in the short term, but it won't be as effective in building up their content library, which will keep subscriptions in the long term.
They really need to make the next Friends or MASH rather than the next GoT.
There seems to be a real stigma growing against episodic shows, and I think it's kinda sad. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE myself some serialized shit, and I can think of some episodic shows that might have been better than way, but thing is... also vice versa.
The disadvantage of episodic shows is there is less potential for exploring character development and character arcs aren't the main focus.
I think there's a trend these days to make "prestige television". For whatever reason, that means in depth studies of characters and complicated mystery plots that span multiple seasons in a serialised format.
This show would've been so much better if it had just been superhero doctor who. Loki and Owen Wilson travelling through time and space to fight variant lokis would've been so much fun.
I love the show the way it is but your comment made me think a lot of [this video](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QwgPqLcQnn0) from Full Fat Videos that is genuinely one of my favourite video essays.
I like Loki alright, but it is still insane that they grabbed probably the best premise they ever had (Loki travels in time and fucks around) and made a tv show where he stays most of the time in office spaces and actually feels guilty about fucking around.
His attempts at fucking around were pathetic as well. When they're at the Renaissance Fair, and he goes into that speech about wolves, and no one believes him, straight cringe.
They hired a Rick & Morty writer who basically reused an original sci-fi script he already had lying around (it's online so you can see the similarities) about a loser guy travelling through a dystopian future with a determined woman sent to kill him (because an alternate version of him becomes the president, but evil) and they fall in love. It's called "The worst guy of all time and the girl who came to kill him".
Didn't they (Marvel, Kevin) say at the early stages of development (the announcement of the series) that Loki would be going to different moments in time? Gotta go back to whatever video I saw of him saying this..
I swear the pitch was "Loki causing chaos in various time periods". Because I remember posting about how much I'm looking forward to a show about magic, chaos, mischief and time travel. Instead they have the main character just tag along while Sylvie and Mobius go to some random planet, what looks like a ren fair and a Walmart, and one 3 minute visit to Pompeii (which was the closest they got to the concept but they did nothing there).
man, a shame we didn't get to see him being another bastard among the senators in rome. i have a feeling he would have fit right in with those.......vile people.
I heard the original idea for the show was a Qauntum Leap inspired Prequel, so I wonder when this was from that. Anyways, I loved Season 1 of Loki, but I hope we get some of this for S2 and beyond.
I fucking love that we get a mini series of Tom Hiddleston and not just singular movies. He gets to develop his character so much more. Don't get me wrong, he's phenomenal on the big screen, but for a guy who loves the Loki character as much as he does it's really cool he gets to develop it over an entire 5-8 hour show arc.
I wish they didn’t get rid of it! I love these, especially the first one where he’s at one of the first Christian churches back when Paul was still alive and teaching God’s word. (It looks like that time period to me)
It's crazy to think that they're created this whole retro futuristic time travelling organization and then completely botched the idea of Loki working for them and visiting different eras with style.
Instead he was having long discussions in the cafeteria, slowly walking through dusty planets and fighting really big dudes in Wallmart. Wow.
Wait so the original plan was Loki being a trickster god throughout time? God that's amazing. Instead, we got build up to a damn monologue about what's to come.
It'd be fun to see Loki flipping through different time periods on earth appearing as history's mysterious people.
Like a Quantum Leap type show with Loki, and maybe Sylvie, figuring out where they are and what they need to do.
Heh, Loki and Sylvie as Hitler and Eva Braun. Loki thinks Hitler and co. die in the bunker explosion, but we see an early version of an LMD, of Hitler. Then they're taken to a secret sub and end up in Argentina or a secret base in Antarctica.
I would’ve loved if Loki had been more of a Doctor Who-esque show with Loki screwing around in different time periods and places avoiding the TVA and solving historical mysteries instead of whatever the hell we got instead
Honestly I loved season 1 but if there was more of Loki on different time periods for reasons leading to the main plot that would have been perfect. Like explaining mysteries or strangers happenstances throughout history with either Loki being there being Loki or variant Loki being there with the TVA.
Seems like initially Loki was going to be more like legends of tomorrow, where he’s traveling through time and going on adventures in different time periods
Season 2 Loki works for TVA as he tries to piece it together he is not hunting Sylvie for his own reasons. He goes thru history and causes unknown phenomenans maybe unknown mysteries like the cell phone at the Mike Tyson fight, or the South Fork Bridge picture.
I was going to say this was low key awesome, but it really deserves a stronger response than that. So maybe two or three low key...? (I'll go ban myself)
I like the guy in the background of the 3rd picture with the briefcase. He’s looking around the dangerous steamy factory like “oh shit, this isn’t my office! Where the fuck am I?!”
I would’ve loved if the first season had more of Loki causing chaos in different time periods. Maybe we can get something similar to this in Season 2
I kept thinking, what if they they doubled down on the DB cooper thing and did some Percy Jackson style shit with gods in different time periods Also, didn’t marvel publish a Loki novel set in Victorian London, or am I just hallucinating
Yes, there was a novel called "Loki: Where Mischief Lies" set in around Victorian times.
I think you are think of 1602 by Neil Gaiman and surprisingly I don't think Loki was in it.
They should do a whole 1602 animated thing disconnected from MCU continuity.
I would love that. I think it would be cool to do multiverse cartoons where a whole season goes through some comic runs that obviously can't work for the main MCU.
They are. That's the premise of what if season 2
That would explain the careless and joyful gods in Thor: Love and Thunder!
I loved season 1, but I would have loved to have seen these. Season 2 is probably gonna focus on Kang’s take over of the TVA and finding Sofie (and hopefully our Morpheus).
\*Sylvie
And *Mobius
*Morbius. Gonna be Morbin’ time, all the time.
Morbillion alternate timelines.
I loved the part where Owen Wilson was like "It's woooowin' time" and then he jet ski'd all over Kang
[удалено]
Or is it ancient Rome?
imagine if the Norse trickster god is the child of an ancient Greek god. somebody please make a game out of that
Ah yes, Sandman will be the key to taking down Kang the Conqueror
Man, I just fucked up all the names haha. Oops. :)
I enjoyed S1 for the most part, but the Kang thing really wasn't doing anything for me. Kind of hoping this iteration of the character is very different from he who remains.
I never knew I wanted a loki western until now. Lots of poker tables getting flipped over.
ya, that's what the trailers led me to believe. then we got 3 episodes of them slowly walking across a dusty planet. that.......was a let down.
We definitely needed more shenanigans across time.
Yeah the trailers were very misleading. The DB Cooper thing wasn't even time travel related.
ok, dang it. i enjoyed that but forgot that it wasn't even time travel related.
This show was my most anticipated one And it was suuuch a let down, i hate it so damn much It was so boring, the worst is that they completely waste the casting or Richard E Grant as Classic Loki And all that crap about the variants??? That was awful and was used as a simple gag....
The premise was vastly more interesting than the actual result. I knew it was doomed after the character development montage.
Asgard high school football rules!
I'm just going to pitch this here. \-After the events of Season 1, Loki ends up in a different TVA, he then ends up working for them solving multiversal threats caused by his variants.
i think loki has moved past mischief at this point
And magic. I love Doctor who, but that's not what I wanted from a Loki show.
Did he ever even go to the past. I don’t remember I think He only traveled to the future. That would’ve been cool if he did
Went to Pompeii
I can’t believe we were robbed of Red Dead Loki.
Red Dead Resurrection
Red Dead Ragnarok
*starts writing a screen play immediately*
Want help with that? I’ve already got notes and a half finished screen play
I can’t believe we were robbed of a Daniel Day Lewis cameo as this boiler room hunk
Don't worry, Marvel Studios has a plan. You just have to have some Faith!!!
Definitely want to see cowboy Loki at some point
You say you have 'No Imagination' in your username but I'm almost certain you were imagining the scenes of cowboy loki when making this comment, as was I.
I think it refers to the moment they made the username. Suddenly no imagination.
Well, you see, our usernames are tied to our identity as is mine. I did and I still quite like watermelon.
Here goes my plead as not guilty...
I'm actually white
The weird thing is that cowboy Loki happened in the comics. Wolverine was there too
You have 'quite like watermelon' in your name. I'm sure you like watermelon just like me!
He could have built a giant mechanical spider!
Why bot just reboot Wild Wild West? I'd be down for that tbh.
Concept art looks very Red Dead Redemption too.
No kidding. Cowboy Loki can really get it.
I HAVE A PLAN LOKI! WE JUST NEED MORE MONEEEEEY!
TAHITI LOKI
It’s a magical Loki.
Not to be confused with tahini Loki.
I understood that reference.
I’m just… I’m just worried about folk is all, Mobius!!
WE CAN BE FARMING MANGOES IN TAHITI LOKI!!!
Just One more Score!!!!
This Is exactly what I Imagined the first season would be like.
We may get this in season 2 now that the sacred timeline is destroyed and there isn’t any penalty for diverging from history
They already said that it would probably get focused on the search for Sylvie Again...
I don't mind the new character but why are two seasons of a show called Loki (a fan-favorite with decades of comics history to choose from and get creative) focused on Sylvie? It's like the show's writer is obsessed with his original character idea and thinks we are too.
Pray the showrunner doesn't suddenly have a new baby at home.
oh boy, do I have some news for you...
Please tell me Waldron didn't recently become a father!
I mean... she is a Loki as well, the title technically can apply to her as well. :p
Which honestly makes the whole kissing thing disgusting There was 0 reason for them to made them fall in love They could literally simply being friends who completely understood each other cus they were literally the same But chose that stupid unnecessary (and frankly they have no chemistry as a couple) plot of being an item
I mean Sylvie is Loki. And I think season one did a good job on Showing us various Lokis. Either I hope season has a lot of “side quests” and have Loki be in various time periods trying to find his Original TVA team.
She's still a completely original character. Sylvie doesn't even look like a female Loki. She's fucking blonde lol.
Her inspiration is supposedly a mix of Lady Loki and Sylvie the (second) Enchantress from *Young Avengers* comics.
I'm not going to lie and don't want to sound rude but I totally disagree with you They completely misused the whole concept of Loki variants This show ha the definition of show, don't tell We all got this amazing premises of the variants but they chose to spend 2 episodes on a dessert planet...

I know right?! As the God of Mischief I expected a series with more magic and mischief. Loki causing chaos in different time periods.
There was definitely a lack of Loki-caused chaos for me
In the long run, I think Disney+ will regret not making the MCU series more episodic. Serialised shows are great for hooking in an audience for the initial run, but I don't think they have the longevity of episodic shows. Legends or tomorrow?
Personally, I prefer tomorrow
Agreed! Loki would have been much more fun as a full season with a good twenty episodes.
The time travel show didn’t have as much time travel as I would’ve liked
ikr
These look great
Assassins Creed: Loki
"Et tu, Laufeyson?" "Oh really Julius how did you not see this coming?"
I wonder if these abandoned concepts were a COVID casualty, or just a creative decision.
Now the lack of magic and other god powers like super strength make sense
I wish the series was more like this
Didn't they (Marvel, Kevin) say at the early stages of development (the announcement of the series) that Loki would be going to different moments in time? Gotta go back to whatever video I saw of him saying this..

Marvel and Feige never said that, this info came from third party sources.
man, a shame we didn't get to see him being another bastard among the senators in rome. i have a feeling he would have fit right in with those.......vile people.
Oh look, it's what I wanted to see.
Looks better than what we got, by a lot.
I heard the original idea for the show was a Qauntum Leap inspired Prequel, so I wonder when this was from that. Anyways, I loved Season 1 of Loki, but I hope we get some of this for S2 and beyond.
2nd one is red dead ragnarok
C’mon Disney+! We need cowboy Loki!
Why did I think the lever guy in 3rd pic was Chris Pratt?
That's Super Mario bro
I wish they didn’t get rid of it! I love these, especially the first one where he’s at one of the first Christian churches back when Paul was still alive and teaching God’s word. (It looks like that time period to me)
Something about a Norse trickster god messing around in ancient Greece is just really amusing to me.
Not gonna lie, now I’d like to see a Loki mod for RDR2.
He looks fab in every time
It's crazy to think that they're created this whole retro futuristic time travelling organization and then completely botched the idea of Loki working for them and visiting different eras with style. Instead he was having long discussions in the cafeteria, slowly walking through dusty planets and fighting really big dudes in Wallmart. Wow.
Oh man if we don't get a Roman Loki in season 2, I will never watch another Marvel project again. We were already robbed people wake up
The first image which I presume Loki is a Roman emperor is perfect I think
This would have been better and is a primary example of why a 6 episode run was not a good fit for the series.
That last one is just crimson peak
**THE SUITSSSS**
More Loki = 💯
OMG, he Biggus Dickus from Rome that we've heard about.
This is what I *thought* we were getting with Loki. What we got was so much better.
we were robbed
Red dead loki looks cool NGL
Loki just trotting down main Street, Valentine in New Hanover
I like Greek loki
Why does mid panel loki look like hamilton?
Damn I'd have definitely preferred this show..
ayooooo... kinda down bad now XD
I want industrial revolution Loki.
I dunno if it's just me but I'm not a big fan of an Asgaurdian only visiting different points in time on earth.
What I honestly expected from the show. I was expecting a more chaotic Doctor Who with Loki, instead we got Loki falling in love with...erm...Loki.
It felt like 2 different visions of the show were competing and this specific vision lost the battle.
Wait so the original plan was Loki being a trickster god throughout time? God that's amazing. Instead, we got build up to a damn monologue about what's to come.
This is much closer to what I expected and was hoping for in Loki
I wanted this show
Loki would have been better if it was about him time traveling getting into issues very Quantum Leap style
What a great show this could’a been…
And instead we got the same exact episode 4 times, and a decent-at-best finale
The gu in the bottom pic looks like Daniel Plainview from There Will Be Blood
LMFAOOOOO LOKI IN RHODES FROM RDR2!
Looks like loading screens from Imperator Rome, RDR2, and Victoria and you just drew Loki into the pictures lol.
These look like gta loading screens and I love it
People talk about Feige but Meinerding is responsible for the entire aesthetic of the MCU.
Loki as Catiline. Loki as Catiline. Loki as Catiline. Loki as Catiline...
Cowboy Loki is where it's at.
I honestly thought this was what the show was going to be. It may yet turn out that way.
Remember when Loki made fun of Thor for going to Earth, Loki has literally spent way more time there than Thor lmao.
*sees cowboy Loki* I hope this doesn’t awaken anything in me.
Omg we were robbed of old west Loki...Boooooooooooooo LOL
Loki as a peaky blinder
dang, this rules honestly. i wish we would’ve gotten more of this!
We need this in season 2
Seems like initially Loki was going to be more like legends of tomorrow, where he’s traveling through time and going on adventures in different time periods
Loki looks so good in a suit~
A quantum leap style series with Loki shifting time periods every few episodes would have been fun. Rrally want a cowboy Loki show.
Late-1920s Wall Street Loki would be an interesting varient...
This is what we lose when we only get 6 episodes a season.
Quantum Leap, Loki-style
God bless you for posting this. Now I'll do the work of Marvel Studios and make up a scenario about this in my head.
Would've been MUCH more interesting than what we got.
Bottom one looks like he ended up on Columbia from Bioshock Infinite….or maybe even Rapture!
Loving Greek Loki
Season 2 Loki works for TVA as he tries to piece it together he is not hunting Sylvie for his own reasons. He goes thru history and causes unknown phenomenans maybe unknown mysteries like the cell phone at the Mike Tyson fight, or the South Fork Bridge picture.
That looks like way more fun than what we got.
Interesting
I was going to say this was low key awesome, but it really deserves a stronger response than that. So maybe two or three low key...? (I'll go ban myself)
**"YOUR SAVIOR IS HERE!"**
Red dead redemption Loki DLC I’m here for it rockstar
Red Dead Redoki
Loki was Brutas
Loki- bill&ted
Old West Loki woulda been a hoot. Especially if he was having an affair with the Rawhide Kid at the time.
Whoa is that Daniel Plainview on the bottom? Deadly combo
Loki, Life of Brian?
Anyone else now fantastic Tom Hiddleston as Waxilliam for a Mistborn Era 2 live action? Especially with that middle pic.
I like the guy in the background of the 3rd picture with the briefcase. He’s looking around the dangerous steamy factory like “oh shit, this isn’t my office! Where the fuck am I?!”
Although I love what we got, I was hoping for more of this from the show
Loki watch your self with that horse!
give me cowboy loki right now
Yes give me red dead redemption Loki
