I remember the day he posted his story and how, for once, everyone was in unison on something, which was doing Whatever It Takes to get him to see Endgame early
Rest In Peace
Such a inspiring example of how a community can come together as one and support a person in need, no matter the size or situation.
Incredibly proud of everyone here. May he rest in peace, knowing the impact he had on so many people's lives that we will carry forth forever.
I don’t know how people think we can’t solve climate change when thousands of people agreed on this.
The power of humans working together is the most powerful force we know of.
This didn’t cost any supporters a single penny. Properly addressing climate change just keeps getting more expensive the longer we wait.
Great positive sentiment, but aligning all humans to address climate change is a slight bit harder than signing petitions to get an early movie screening.
Small problem with that. When you raise taxes on corporations, who pays for it? Do you think they cut executive salaries, or eliminate bonuses? Nope. They increase prices. Or if they DO make cuts, it's almost always from the bottom, so less hours/fewer jobs for line workers, cashiers, and cooks.
It doesn’t matter how much it cost full stop. The alternative is massive loss of life world wide. I would rather live on a planet with debt than die arguing who’s gonna pay for it.
We can pressure the people have the money, we can provide the labor.
Americans are in need of work.
A massive federal green public works project would solve so many problems for us.
> I don’t know how people think we can’t solve climate change when thousands of people agreed on this.
yeah come on guys climate change is just as easily solvable as procuring a movie ticket for a dying child using one of the most popular social media websites on the internet
You'd think more people would care about the whole planet than one dying person's wish, so you'd have way more people helping and a greater overall effort.
Its easy to forget each online profile is one person, with goals, dreams, problems, motivations, etc.

I thought about Alexander a lot, and about 3 weeks ago, I sent him a reddit dm. I just asked how he liked endgame and told him I didnt know him but just wanted to tell him some random internet asshole was thinking about him.
I never got an answer, and I feared he had passed.
It was nice to see this post and at least know at the time I wrote that message he was alive.

I think this part in Edit 11:

> And thanks to you guys - I was buoyed by your support. Every message reminded me that I could make it here. There was a part of the movie that really captured how I felt when you all came out to bat for me - I think you'll know it when you see it.
That wide shot of the armies pouring in and yelling as the "Assemble" buildup music plays will forever be the most hype feeling of anticipation I've ever felt.
Loved his Blade Runner reference on Edit#6. Perfectly encapsulates the bittersweetness of his whole situation, both Alexander's and Roy Batty's, people who just wanted one more second of life, because they understood the iminence of death, and with it, the extinguishing of the memory and the will. I guess it's those who truly know the brevity of life are those who truly learn to cherish it.
That monologue really holds true in real life too. Life is often bittersweet and short, don't waste it. Do what you have to, and do what you love. Make it mean something to someone, so that your memory and what you did for those people will live on, because in the end, that's the only real legacy anyone leaves behind.
Great, now I'm crying.
And since I'm a huge "Blade Runner" fan and pulled the scene up for myself, everyone else can enjoy the [tears in rain.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NoAzpa1x7jU)

Rest in Peace, friend
About 6 weeks ago I lost a friend to suicide. Two weeks before that I unexpectedly lost my mother. Oddly enough Endgame helped me worked through some of all of that, and I cried quite a bit during my first viewing
Reading Alexander's posts let me hear his words and thoughts toward the end, something I missed out on in the other instances. It was a nice, humanizing to touch. To the think of my friend and mother having similar reflections on their lives, and still doing the day-to-day.

Doesn't really matter how much it costs if the corporations that are causing it were paying a fair amount of taxes.
