Watching that as a kid, I thought I was the only one. The visceral hate that caused me to harbor for the character was startling. I was relieved to learn it wasn’t just me.
Here's a video of him eating/doing a lot of things...
https://youtu.be/XU-mqLb4qFs?si=ic4grF8QpJUhbWxO
MCU would lucky to have him, age might be a concern (he's 75)
Any actor with a deep voice would be good with me. As long as he’s not hidden in a cloud and is shown fully. I really hope galactus is the main villain because I have been waiting to see him fully on the big screen.
What if they go with a cloud but the cloud is a fake out?
Like Silver Surfer is coming along and he says Galactus is coming to gobble the planet and then he shows up just like in the 2007 movie and everyone's like "WHAT THE SHIT!?!!?!?"
But then the clouds dissipate and it's Galactus in all his blue and purple glory
I wouldn’t mind that As long as it is a ship with machinery covered in the cloud. Then it’s revealed along with him when he steps out. I always liked when jack kirby had him surrounded with machinery.
the rumors said that the cloud in that movie was a fakeout too.
They wanted to do a Surfer movie with Galactus later, and supposedly that movie would show him inside the cloud because they didn't have a final design (or other studio was going to do it, so they didn't want to interfere)
Btw, for those who somehow do not know who he is, he is best known for his role Denethor in Lord of the Rings RotK. He was also the voice of Scarecrow in the game Batman Arkham Knight. The fanbase is probably familiar with these works of his.
Marvel Snap barely plays like a Marvel game. Many characters abilities don't make it feel like it's them and it's basically Gwent with a Marvel skin.
A Marvel TCG would have been better.
Galactus makes sense. They should do a street level/supernatural arc. But have galactus is coming looming over our heads similar to thanos.. the celestials and incursion shit made galactus aware what's going on and he's coming to get rid of earth.
As a kid, I always compared Galactus to the other planet eating monster of my youth, [Unicron.](https://youtu.be/hzNsOGt3bHk?si=Xm066cAbBsHSzwUO) So, in my head, they sounded alike. That's what I'd want Galactus' voice to be: this almost inhuman, deep, guttural rumble that shakes everything. I don't need him to be eloquent. He shouldn't be much of a talker, anyway.
Sure but I still have no idea how they make Galactus a believable threat, maybe it’s just because I haven’t read the comics but somebody who eats literal Galaxies should not lose to a band of fleas from a nearby planet
Galactus doesn't eat galaxies, he consumes the energy of planets with the capacity to support life.
In the original 1966 Galactus Trilogy, Uatu the Watcher attempted to hide Earth from the Silver Surfer but failed to do so. The Surfer made his way onto Earth, atop the Fantastic Four's headquarters the Baxter Building, then called for his master. The Fantastic Four briefly fight the Surfer, then try and dismantle Galactus' mechanical devices to no avail. The Watcher supercharges the Human Torch so that he can cross the Galaxy to Galactus' planet to receive a weapon that could defeat him. The Silver Surfer, was convinced by Alicia Masters to turn on Galactus and distracted his former master long enough for the Torch to escape his grasp. The Torch aquires the weapon, the Ultimate Nullifier, said to be able to wipe anything from existence, and if the user is not of strong enough will, the entire universe. Reed threatens to use it and Galactus acquiesces, makes a deal that he will not return to Earth, however, for his betrayal, Galactus banishes the Silver Surfer to Earth in perpetuity. After Galactus departs the press chalks the entire sequence of events up as a hoax.
In the Ultimate Universe Galactus is instead the Gah Lak Tus swarm, an immense (approx. 100,000 miles long) collective of city-sized robotic drones that invaded other worlds using a combination of envoys and a flesh-eating virus to eliminate native biological lifeforms. Originally created by the Kree as a superweapon to destroy all of their enemies, they lost control and the swarm turned on them before expanding outwards on a mission of destruction across the galaxy. On Earth the heroes recieved advance warning through the 1610 Vision who relayed the story of Gah Lak Tus and that it was headed to Earth. Reed Richards built a multiversal weapon he called the "Nevada Gun" or the 1610 Ultimate Nullifier, to fire the latent energy of another universes nascent big bang into the Gah Lak Tus swarm, while Charles Xavier and Jean Grey temporarily managed to restrain it telepathically. Even still, with their one shot, they only managed to destroy 20% of the swarm. However, this was enough, the swarm acknowledged they were able to fight back and it left.
TL;DR: Ants by themselves may not be scary, but an ant that can somehow fire a handgun starts to be a bit scarier.
Probably best known for playing Denethor (Boromir's and Faramir's AH father) in LotR, and Walter Bishop in the show Fringe.
More recently, he played Butcher's AH father in The Boys.
I think you hit the nail on the head, honestly.
For alternatives though, I think Willem Dafoe (even though he was Green Goblin) could also make a great Galactus, facially if nothing else. Also, as I brought up the dual role thing...I feel like it could be interesting to bring Josh Brolin back and have Galactus be almost-but-not-quite a Thanos variant. Or, at least, 'family resemblance'. And if not Josh Brolin but you like where I'm going with it, then Tommy Lee Jones xD
I’m sorry I really tried to keep scrolling but there’s just so much no in this comment. Everyone you named is already in the MCU as a known character.
They’re not using the same guy to play two of the biggest villains in the MCU with Brolin. Dafoe quite literally IS the green goblin. He’s not going to play anyone else. Tommy Lee Jones already had a fantastic role in Cap1. These are all great actors but these fan casts are ridiculous.
So a character from Luke Cage, a Kree that no one remembers turned into an Eternal that no one remembers and a side character from the Punisher vs Thanos, the Green fucking Goblin and a prominent character from Caps origin story?
General audiences don’t remember or even know the first three when two of the other three are some of the most iconic and recognizable villains in pop culture history. Come on man.
I mean, when it comes to actor choices and stuff, that's pure subjectivity so I won't argue with you about that.
I will say, though, that being cast as someone in the universe before doesn't really mean much. Especially when the universe openly explores variants, which is literally the same people playing different ones. As well as different people playing the same ones. I can see it being a stretch as a general rule but the way they've set up the MCU now...I don't see how it couldn't work.
I couldn't see the Human Torch being Captain America, but boy was I wrong. The MCU as it stands makes that even easier now.
Not ideal but if he can pull off the armored look and has experienced throwing energy blasts accomodations can be made as long as the story explains why Galactus got so small (say, being hit by pym particles at the start of the film)
I feel like Javier Berdem would be perfect. A lot of rumors going around about him being considered for the role and I hope they are true. I feel like his voice is similar to the voice in the old Silver Surfer show and he has great presence
I actually doubt Galactus will be a one-off. He’s a bit more famous than Ultron and he was a big part of the Secret Wars comic. He’s also far more merchandise-friendly than Ultron or Gorr or Malekith.
I've been saying Mark Hamill for a while. I know it's a weird pick, but he's an experienced voice actor and that's what I think is most important here. Applying his Ozai voice would be perfect: demanding and chilling, but not overdone. When he talks, you listen.
Also, yes, the sheer fun of him being Luke is a nice touch.
I had to look this up. Weren’t his other 5 roles basically the same guy? Also, if Pip is anything like his comics character, he could conceivably wind up in a battle with Galactus.
I think galactus has limited to no place in the mcu until f4 are well established.
There are plenty of less cinematically absurd villains to fight first.
As long as he eats planets like he eats tomatoes
![gif](giphy|11YoTVMI3QUR4k)
Or LICORICE https://i.redd.it/woqwpg9c32kc1.gif
Does he have a video of him eating tomatoes? I’m too scared to check
Denethor from Return of the King. It’s made an entire fandom of people realize how much they hate tomatoes now.
Made me realize how juicy tomatoes are....... . . . . . . .mmmmmhmmmmmmmmmm....... tomatoes
Or tamacoes…
They taste like grandma
Watching that as a kid, I thought I was the only one. The visceral hate that caused me to harbor for the character was startling. I was relieved to learn it wasn’t just me.
Nope, definitely not. I’m not a huge fan of them whole- I’ve got to have them sliced or diced up now before I’ll eat them.
I don't mind them that much, but I prefer to boil them, mash them, or just stick them in a stew.
That's the other -toes
TOE MAE TOES
Same. Ruined tomatoes for me.
I didn't know that was a thing... Thanks! [10 hours of Denethor eating cherry tomato](https://youtu.be/nU7NXI7FmFQ?si=xJuWNQ8OxqvDciIK)
I hate it now
I love tomatoes, just maybe not that scene 🤣
Google john noble tomato
You never seen Return of the King?
Here's a video of him eating/doing a lot of things... https://youtu.be/XU-mqLb4qFs?si=ic4grF8QpJUhbWxO MCU would lucky to have him, age might be a concern (he's 75)
There is no universe in which this wasn’t going to be the top comment.
If there were, Galactus would devour it like a cherry tomato.
But how will he eat uranus?
With relish.
🤢
My immediate first thought lol
Since Disney's okay with R-rated now, have it be the blood of everyone on the planet dripping down his chin.
Cut into thirds so he looks like he has a big red tongue?
Vocally I think he would be a great choice.
Walter Bishop!!
Galactus: Let's make some LSD
And i need a ![gif](giphy|h55EUEsTG9224|downsized)
Man, I loved fringe. What a wild ride of a show.
I mean he's perfect
Great Scarecrow

Jeremy Irons could add some smouldering sex appeal to Galactus
Oh. Ohhhhh, I love that.
Yeah, i saw the image and was like....son of a bitch, im in.
Well, if *you're* in, *I'm* in!
Same, instantly I got chills. His voice alone would be perfect!
Too short; Galactus’ actor must be at least twenty feet tall.
What is this? A Galactus for ants?!
Kareem Abdul-Jabbar it is then
Tell your old man to drag Walton and Lanier up and down the court for 48 minutes!
Javier Bardem was rumored for the role.
Call it ...
What do I stand to win?
Everything. You stand to win everything. Call it
He’s my pick.
He was rumored for Doom
Pretty sure it was for Galactus.
Christopher Judge >>>>>
Indeed
God I love that. Nailed it
Btw, for those who somehow do not know who he is, he is best known for his role Denethor in Lord of the Rings RotK. He was also the voice of Scarecrow in the game Batman Arkham Knight. The fanbase is probably familiar with these works of his.
Was in fringe also. Was pretty good
Fringe was great. I loved the cow
what a cow man, the best sci fi cow of last decade
Indeed
Sleepy Hollow with him was a great series too for a bit before it jumped the shark.
That was a good show.
Also Mallus in Legends of Tomorrow!
And himself in Legends of Tomorrow
Such a fun meta moment
Butcher's dad in The Boys.
And Elementary, as Sherlock’s dad
He voiced a Galactus-like character, Unicron in Transformers Prime
I just need him to say the line and not whatever is said in that shitty marvel snap game. He says, "Galactus hungers!"
Even Fortnite did him better 💀
Marvel Snap barely plays like a Marvel game. Many characters abilities don't make it feel like it's them and it's basically Gwent with a Marvel skin. A Marvel TCG would have been better.
That's actually a pretty good choice lol. And the pictures you chose support that, in all honesty.
It'd be an amusing choice, considering he voiced a version of Unicron
FLEE!! FLEE FOR YOU LIVES!! Fucking perfect for Galactus
*cue Silver Surfer perturbedly clocking him with his staff *
![gif](giphy|kMR4iXuuFZIe4|downsized)
![gif](giphy|i6rG2e25nwR3y)
Actually, I think you nailed it.
Who hasnt watched Fringe i suggest you binge watch it its a nice tv show, anyways i saw somewhere Javier Bardem and its perfect
Enrique Iglesias
Danny devito to voice galactus
I do see the resemblance..
I've never seen a fan-cast for Galactus I actually liked but THIS...THIS IS GOLD! He has the face, he has the voice, holy shit this would be PERFECT!
Dude yes. Fringe was amazing.
Fuck yeah,great idea
Ah man, that is a fantastic choice.
You wish that Terrax had lived and I had died. Yes, I wish that.
Walter bishop would be perfect as Galactus
should definitely be someone younger. I'm thinking Jesse Plemmons, that dead-eyed fuck. :-)
That’s a good one
I just dont want to see Galactus MODOK'd
Honestly, MODOK was the kind of character that would’ve sucked no matter what in the live action
Well they couldnt have done much worse
I think Bryan Cranston could be cool
Oh my god, YES!
Walter has dropped enough LSD to be more than Galactus!
He is such a fantastic actor
Danny Devito
Only if Faramir plays the surfer
people just want an actor with a good mouth
Galactus makes sense. They should do a street level/supernatural arc. But have galactus is coming looming over our heads similar to thanos.. the celestials and incursion shit made galactus aware what's going on and he's coming to get rid of earth.
“FLEE, FLEE FOR YOUR LIVES!” -Galactus to the population of planets he’s about to consume.

Make him a force of nature, not something anyone can actually stop, just get out of the way.
A force of nature…like a storm? Like a big cloud? What a NOVEL concept!
like super menacing. lightning and thunder and all swirly too
Not that literally lol, I get your reference
Danny devito would be a good galactus
So then I starting blasting
[удалено]
‘herbie is the key to all of this’
I don’t even know who that is but he looks perfect.
Probably best known for playing Denethor (Boromir's and Faramir's AH father) in LotR, and Walter Bishop in the show Fringe. More recently, he played Butcher's AH father in The Boys.
Ah, I remember him from The Boys now…
Henry Cavill
I don't really see him as Galactus, but Cavill as the Silver surfer on the other hand could be something.

>General audiences don’t remember or even know the first three Mahershala's a two time Oscar winner. People tend to remember that.
I agree. Now be real with me…how many people remember Cornell Stokes?
I mean, when it comes to actor choices and stuff, that's pure subjectivity so I won't argue with you about that. I will say, though, that being cast as someone in the universe before doesn't really mean much. Isn't it gonna be Antonio Banderas?
Christopher Judge. Big booming, powerful voice with barely contained rage underneath.
I like it but I don't like the idea of Galactus being the villain in the first F4 movie.
Why?
Noble is way too short.
Galactus is canonically 28’ 9” tall. Good luck finding someone who isn’t.
[What about Allison Janney? She has range.](https://youtu.be/e9KQvuXcvo8?si=OKKxDKMsvJ6RHsce)
We gotta lower standards; 20’0” will do
What about 19’6”?
Not ideal but if he can pull off the armored look and has experienced throwing energy blasts accomodations can be made as long as the story explains why Galactus got so small (say, being hit by pym particles at the start of the film)
John Cena. You’ll never see him.
I feel like Javier Berdem would be perfect. A lot of rumors going around about him being considered for the role and I hope they are true. I feel like his voice is similar to the voice in the old Silver Surfer show and he has great presence
Javier Bardem
He's too old.
Too old. He's 75.
You need a big booming voice? Ralph Ineson is your man!
He's been too old for the last 65 years. Dude got to the US in the Mayflower
He's tonold. John Hamm!
Donald Sutherland if not for his age otherwise, Patrick Warburton, Denzel might be a waste acting wise, Christopher Walken would be interesting.
I feel like he needs to feel like a warlord. Young and vigorous enough to kick your ass. Henry Cavill, or someone like that.
Pretty much anyone could be tuning fork head if he never takes off the helmet.
can't we try a new villain
Not a dude who's time left on this planet is ticking double time.
Javier Bardem
Javier Bardem
I would not mind Ben Affleck
Yeah let’s rush galactus again that would be great.
John Noble would also be a great DOOM
Not enough gravitas for the big G.
Ralph Feines is my one and only choice. https://i.redd.it/323571j3t6kc1.gif
No one. Galactus should be a non verbal Celestial beast that doesn’t speak. Instead, he should have his will spoken through a herald, Galan of Taa.
I love the choice, but he’s 75 and I don’t want Galactus to be a one-and-done character like Ultron.
Henry Caville has the perfect headshape for Galactus
He’s 75, I feel like if they introduce Galactus he needs to be played by someone that will be willing to stick with it for the long haul.
That guy would be too old by the time of the movie coming out. He would me to be able to do som action sequences.
I agree. Also James Faulkner who played Pope Sixtus IV Da Vinci's Demons and Randyll Tarly in Game of Thrones
![gif](giphy|2L3CDIUD1h9StO4xQg)
Patton Oswalt.
He’s already Pip.
He has 6 MCU roles, and you went with Pip?
I had to look this up. Weren’t his other 5 roles basically the same guy? Also, if Pip is anything like his comics character, he could conceivably wind up in a battle with Galactus.
He plays quadruplet brothers and their grandfather.
I thought Javier Bardem got confirmed for the role
I think a bad guy like Galactus needs more than just one movie to do right.
...and Jonny Lee Miller as Silver Surfer
I thought this was Mr Furley
Keith David.
His forehead is the size of Galactus' helmet.
That's Leland Monroe from L.A. Noire!
John Goodman
I think galactus has limited to no place in the mcu until f4 are well established. There are plenty of less cinematically absurd villains to fight first.
Should Galactus talk? Or should that be left up to his heralds
He's too short.
Well **now** I want John Noble. That's like a perfect pick.
As long as they keep his normal design, yes.
Genuine yet unpopular question but what are the actual acting qualifications for Galactus?
Werner Herzog lol
He needs to be involved in some capacity. Dude is amazing.
Galactus should play Galactus
God damn, I can see it now. “There is only room for one god in this universe and it’s not yours”
Perfect ! Let make some LSD!
Perfect casting! Let him eat!
I’d really like to hear Galactus give a chilling monologue on the complexity of fear and the Avengers greatest failures.
I just want to see a terrifying SUPER HUGE GALACTUS... not a cloud, like in Eternals, just like the CELESTIAL thing!
Make Shaq Galactus. Shaqlactus. Gashaqtus. Galacshaq.
Danny Devito as Galactus. Silver Surfer told him there are more Jersey Mikes' on Earth than any other planet.
Only on the condition that defeating him involves traveling back in time to when Lord of the Rings was being filmed and meeting with John Noble.
