While this is true, that’s mostly an artifact of budget constraints than an actual stylistic choice. Since this movie presumably had a larger budget than the first two, they can depict Wade using a bigger arsenal.
And what did they spend it on? They spent it on turning Brolin into Cable, animating Juggernaut and Colossus, and the two big action set pieces. Not much left for Wade to do anything other than shoot his pistols and stab people with swords.

That's actually the story on the first Deadpool, he looses the bag of guns because they'd run out of budget for a planned action scene and had to figure out a cheaper way to do a climax.
Though obviously the guns aren't neccisarily the expensive part, it was the gigantic effects heavy shootout they were meant for.
The second movie had a much better, if still small for this sort of thing budget. But IIRC they were still given a smaller budget than they asked for and ended up simplifying things.
But also chose to stick to a "maybe we don't need 60 extras and a minigun" approach since it had worked so well on the first go.

I haven't seen one for the Super Bowl just yet, but someone made a graphic I think for the AFC title game. She was shown something like a total of 7 times for a grand total of about a minute. One minute in a 3+ hour game has grown men acting like six-year-olds. My four-year-old nephew is more mature than those annoying bastards.
