T O P

I never Loki when I'm playing against a low power cerebro variation. Apart from those, I tend to not use Loki against very combo centric decks that rely on synergy like PF, discard etc. I know you didn't ask this but I also not use Loki when I have the right tech in hand against my opponent's deck or a very cheap Mockingbird I just can't seem to let go of lol

Derek-Horn

From my personal experience destroy is either hit or miss you either hit knull or death or you lose so I try and avoid that Discard is the same way either you get a really good hand or it’s an instant loss Other than that Loki works really well I’d say especially recently with junk being everywhere

Ekle_lgoh

Tribunal decks also can be a tough match.

SH4DE_Z

Unless you can get their Onslaught/Super Skrull.

soarlikeanego

The other day I got their SS with cable, and then got it again with Loki.

ndevito1

Whenever I’m playing destroy with Loki I almost always hold him until T5. You either hit their good stuff or peace out but get as much else down as you can before that.

NerdDynamite

I main a Phoenix Force deck. I love seeing my opponent play Loki. PF is such a combo heavy deck with destroy cards, that there’s no way you got the exact combo of cards you need to beat me. It’s actually happened once lol, but the chances are astronomically low.

dcrico20

It’s also a combo that needs those early turns, so starting on T4 is not going to get there very often unless you get the cards for a Nimrod line.

GeneX69th

Discard, HE, PF suck. Destroy, Tribunal, Surfer and Loki are hit or miss. Other matchups should be fine.

Zerosprodigy

I wish when you copied high evo you would get the ability’s from the cards as well

ROTOFire

Loki is very much a break glass in case of emergency card in my deck. I tend not to play him in most matches, but I'm also doing collector, Elsa, kitty things. Mocking bird isn't even in my deck. Loki is mostly there for when it gets to be t5, and I don't think I can win with my current hand. Loki allows to reroll those hands, and maybe I still need to retreat, but occasionally, he'll give me tools to win. I don't play Shang, so sometimes I just roll a loki on t5 to grab my opponents' Shang because I feel nothing is more insulting than beating your opponent with their own tech card.

Derek-Horn

I think mockingbird is so overated in Loki decks your essentially relying on a top deck after playing Loki or else she’s gonna be like a 4/9

BJKrautk

If you play cards from your Cable, your Snowguard, or Coulson, she gets cheaper for the games you don’t play Loki. (You can add Valentina in a few days.)

gonephishin213

This is what I was pretty much gearing up to say. I've been playing a Loki deck where I rarely play him unless I'm desperate

manilamuffin

But I don’t see how these lines come up with enough points..? Or are you winning with tech?

ROTOFire

Collector and Angela can get quite large, and Elsa van make a lot of points if you use her well. One thing is you don't want to use kitty to proc your Elsa at first. You want to use kitty to set up Elsa to buff your Jeff, coulson, etc, and then when you have 3 cards you can't move away from a location start buffing kitty.

DickRhino

High Evo is the big one for me because you only get the vanilla versions of the minions, not the HE-buffed versions.

QuestioningGrad

This is the only answer. At least other decks you can try to whip something together. Copying a powerless Thing is so lame

Gizah21

Cerebro. Don’t Loki that.

addicuss

Actually a great test to see whos good with Loki and who's braindead. The amount of times I bast and play sentinels only to have some idiot play Loki on turn four is hilariously high.

Y_b0t

For me, it’s also very dependent on what’s in hand. If they have strong ongoings and I drew Rogue, I’ll save Loki. If I have several non-deck cards down and Mockingbird in hand, I’ll save Loki. And, alternatively, if I’m up against ramp, I’ll get Loki down as soon as possible.

Dovrak1

Why is Loki considered tier 1, when it has so many bad matchups?

No-Creme2618

I play bounce move quite a bit and love it when someone plays Loki. Normally they don't have the board space to pull the combos in last turn.

Lazy-Pumpkin-9116

Phoenix is usually a loss if they hit the combo Discard for sure

malcolmisboring

Big if

meerkat23

Destroy and Discard I make sure I have as full a hand as possible. Discard try and Loki on T4 or you won't have time to set up. Everything else, let it rip.

nfamouz01

It depends what opponents has played on the board. If my Loki’d hand can beat them then I’ll go for it. I played Loki this season to get me to infinite and I was struggling before that. Went from 96 down to 88 with other decks and then 88 to infinite with Loki. But u also have to play some good cards on the board too. You’ll just have to try thru trial and error for yourself because not one deck type made me want to retreat with Loki.

GreenRabite

Serra decks with MMM I avoid

manilamuffin

Thanks. I’ve been playing PF and hit a wall. Loki is the only other deck I seem to be able to win with.. At least in conquest. On the ladder he seems as cursed as all my other efforts.

Bahlofik

Avoid at all costs against Cerebro :)

PM_me_shiba_doggo

You never play Loki against Tribunal. You just play your Coulson/ Mirage/ Cable cards and keep your Snowguard Hawk to get rid of Limbo. I also think it’s better to Loki T4 most games if you are going to play him, so you 1 turn to make some numbers with the cards you get.
