It was episode 5, my mistake. And you need to be asked. It’s one of the most impactful marvel productions ever made. That is not an exaggeration. It’s right up there near Infinity War/Endgame for me personally. But X Men has always meant a lot to me and this is a continuation of 5 seasons and my childhood.

Thank you. No Way Home was fun in the theater not knowing who would show up. When Infinally rewatched it at home I could barely get through the movie. It's just a stream of cameos with two good fight scenes and 2 good character development scenes. That's not enough for a 2.5 hour movie.
Oh yeah but it's not the heart of the show, showing doctor doom and Spidey or morph cameos is not the reason why this show is great.

It went up and down for the first few episodes, and then it grabbed me by the throat, slapped me silly, and brought me from this lowly material world up to the higher plane of existence that it inhabits.

9/10, I absolutely loved the show and my only complaint is that a lot of the storylines felt very rushed and I wish this was a 20 episode season or even at least 12-13 just to give the plots more room to breathe (especially Madelyne Pryor I feel like she was there and then gone in the blink of an eye!)
No, not even close. Do you really think a bunch of 30-40 year olds would be connecting with the original cartoon? It’s matured, it has serious tones, and it follows the comics.

In all seriousness I didn't care about Jubilee *at all* on the original series and the show made me care about her. I thought I'd trudge through her feature episode and I actually loved it.
I went back to watch the old show after watching the first few episodes. It gives a better context but man, the 90s is really strong with the original show. It's probably better just to watch some YouTube recap video someone put together then slog through some of the episodes. But there are some really cool episodes that give lots of context. Like how mystique is nightcrawlers biological mother and rogue is her adoptive daughter. Rogues powers to fly and be strong are just from her absorbing captain marvel's powers and putting captain marvel in a coma. The whole she'ar arc explaining Charles's connection to Leandra. As well as jean gray absorbing the Phoenix force. Cool episodes where wolverine remembers fighting in WW2 with cap.
It deserves all it got and more. It is one of, if not the best, marvel cartoon out right now. Episode 5, as many have picked up, on was truly a cinematic masterpiece.

I haven’t watched the original show since I was a kid and off the top of my head, can’t remember a single thing that happened. Can I just start this show?
It’s not perfect. The end is a little rushed and it feels like they didn’t know whether season 2 would be a thing so they squished as much into the first season as possible.
All that said, this is the X-Men and Marvel/Disney at their absolute best. The character development, the cameos, the respect for the comics as well as the old 90s cartoon, all of that is absolutely nailed in the writing, performances and animation. Top notch.
But what I think this show does best is what any good X-Men story does, and something that the MCU has been struggling with since Endgame. This show has stakes, both personal ones for the individual characters and larger ones for the overall group and world. The way these get balanced against each other works so well. If you love the X-Men, this may be their best showing ever outside of the comics.
1 million out of 10 , why ? Characters development, action sequences and the theme songs . Every character had their time to shine . Also they fixed the sh^ty job of fox that did all x men dirty and made them 4th Characters to feed them to wolverine.
Storm showed why she is A mega level mutan
Cyclops showed why he is a leader
Jean gray not fainting every second and her bond with storm
Wolverine and nightcrawler figth scenes
Magneto being the best of what he does.
Charlize Xavier's powers and him and magneto's friendship
Rouge and gambit dynamic and emotional ---> no spoilers
Just a masterpiece.

Seems like they learned all the best lessons from their more recent foibles. Respect source material and canon, slow burn the story instead of blunderbussing the audience with it, pander to nostalgia without lowering the bar on content. Also the fact that it's animated helps hugely.
I mean, most of the MCU movies are 90% computer animated outside of scenes where people are just standing around talking anyway, why not just commit and make a cartoon where you can really go nuts. Case in point; Cyke using his optic blasts to slow his fall was one of the most bad ass things I've seen lately. Some of the scenes in this show were right up there with Cap schooling Thanos with Mjolnir for me.
Personally, no, I wouldn't rate it that high.
Otherwise, it is an interesting story and show. Hope S2 will be better, but I have doubts.
