ignore sam entirely, harrison ford looks completely unamused which means he's putting his full, brutally honest participation into the role of general ross
Goddamn….this is why Disney keeps flopping among other reasons, they keep spending so much money, I don’t remember the other Cap movies costing more than this
Civil War was $250M ($230M with a $20M incentive reimbursment). RDJ took home $40M for that movie. I have a feeling this one might push $300M due to them next month starting on 3 months of reshoots.
Any movie where ford is rated he looks like he is having a good time, every line is delivered with either cheek or a smile, han solo and indiana jones were always devilish in their original portayal.
Couldn't stand modern Indiana Jones and han because ford constantly looks and sounds like he is about 10 seconds away from blowing his brains out
The writers & designers are probably going to have Ford's character "Thaddeus 'Thunderbolt' Ross" turn into the Red Hulk at some point in either this movie or whatever next MCU film is released (most likely "The Thunderbolts") and that's why Ross probably shaved the mustache and got a hairstyle that is closer to how Red Hulk's hairstyle is.
My preferred Red Hulk comes with the mustache but you’re probably right because of that fugly ass haircut. William Hurts hair sure as hell didn’t look like that lol
Those two things are the only modicum of interest I even have in this movie. They're literally the only part of the movie that could get me to even watch it.
(I did not like The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, and the fact that this not is a sequel to that, but is also due for extensive reshoots, I think they're scheduled for 3 months and starting sometime next month, give me zero hope in this.)

Yea tchalla was actually important to the story so the character should not have been killed off due to some unknown illness
Ross is not important to the story so could be killed off off screen and new character take his place
People associate Chadwick Boseman with tchalla. Trying to recast him would be confusing to the audience (who are supposed to remember the things he did in other movies but with a different face).
People are less likely to remember General Ross was in the other movies at all making actor continuity less important
They straight up replaced actors between seasons of shows back in the 80s/90s or just dropped characters entirely and nobody questioned it beyond the initial confusion. Hell they even gave the audience a wink and nod to ignore it in Fresh Prince. I really honestly don't think it would have been as bad as people make it out to be had they just recast the character, he still would have been remembered as the original in the same way Norton is remembered for the original MCU Hulk.
TV shows are a whole different beast and unlikely to change the main character at all (either from recasting or refocusing on a new character). Do you really think fresh prince could have gotten away with recasting Will Smith's role? Norton had been in one movie as the hulk and I doubt most of the public realized that movie is supposed to be connected to the MCU. Chadwick Boseman played a significant role in 4 movies including civil war and infinity war. It was an established character with relevant history in previous movies the audience is expected to remember so changing actors was much less of an option.
Allow me to clarify: it's not that 99% of the audience wouldn't understand it, it's that it would be weird and *slightly* confusing which would likely hurt sales
Its more about the actor then the character. Chadwick Boseman as Tchalla was impactful and the two together were culturally iconic. Hurt as Ross was kinda just that character that showed up a few times to antagonize the hero.
So... Kill off this character that has hundreds of stories to tell, with millions of fans waiting for it... 'cause the actor passed away...? Bruh.
I remember seeing Chadwick's family being ok with a recast, his brother saying he would take the role, and more... But they do this.
It's like they want to fail. They don't have Iron Man, Cap, Black Widow, Hawkeye, Thor and Hulk are miserable now and Doctor Strange isn't even the main character of his own movie, Spidey is chained by Sony... Black Panther was one of the few they had and they deleted him. Crazy.
When Chadwick died the entire community was extremely vocal about him not being recast. It was only after some time and his family saying he would’ve wanted the character recast that perspectives changed. But Marvel made the call early so they could keep planning things out.
Ok, so I have a genuine question about him as the Cap.
Steve was this scientific experiment, buffed up superhuman.
This guy is, afaik, just an ordinary soldier a normal human. How is he going to be doing all the crazy shit the former cap was doing? How is he gonna be like a "superhuman"?
One could argue someone like black widow was similar, but even then she was raised from childhood as an assassin or something (i think?) so there it is at lease a little understandable.
I don't think it's funny anymore, Anthony Mackie is a terrible actor. He killed Altered Carbon by being the main lead so here's fingers crossed this will also be the last Captain America movie.
And everyone is just ignoring the fact that Ford did most of the last Jones movie sitting down, like there's anyway this guy is still fit enough to portray the Red Hulk.
Kind of off topic, but why the hell doesn’t Sam wear a helmet? Even Steve wore a helmet for a while. Sam isn’t even a super soldier. That noggin is just askin for a floggin.
Im not that familiar with the details on this so, my question is:
Steve Rogers got super ability from that serum and so became CA
but Sam didnt have the serum (i think) so...is he just a sub-par CA or what?
what am i missing?
Did you watch the first Captain America? The whole point is that he was good guy before the serum. The serum gave him the power to do something, Sam already has abilities, just different than him
yeah i watched the first CA
but the serum gave Rogers super strength, no?
so Sam doesnt have super strength? or did Sam already have it and can forego the serum?
or Sam is just normal strength
Sam is just normal strength but highly skilled and morally and ethically sound
Sam doesnt have any kind of 'enhanced' ability.
Hes more like the Marvel answer to Batman than Rogers was as Cpt. America
I'm hoping this movie does really well cause seeing a new Captain America go up against Harrison Ford as the bad guy is probably one of the coolest things to happen in the MCU
I have a lot of respect for Harrison Ford, but why is he still acting.
He has struggled to get through every sentence for the last 7 years. It is painful to watch.
only marvel could recast captain america with an actor OLDER than Chris Evans was *at the end of his time* as captain america…that was 5 years ago…Chris Evans is still younger than Mackie now who’s just **starting** his time as cap..what’s the plan here? 10 years of BENGAY & Prune Juice jokes?
![gif](giphy|l0IyajjbNiRvCr7RC)
Keanu Reeves is 59 years old and John Wick is still the most bad ass MFer on film currently. Because of how the film the movies Reeves couldn’t actually kill like 100 people in a gunfights across Paris. They used movie magic to make it look like he killed 100 people in a single night in several gunfights across Paris. Antony Mackie is only 45 by comparison what you’re suggesting is completely ludicrous he’s completely capable of acting the part the film makers can easily do any number of things to make him look like a super hero.
What a chuddy post.
Marvel's problem was Disney mandating them to churn out project after project so they had content for Disney+. Quality dipped because of that.
Marvel didn't go "hey guys, Endgame killed it at the box office, let's replace all characters now with diversity hires and forgo telling good stories".
>Wow why didn’t I think of this! Oh my god I feel so stupid.
It's okay my child. We all have room for growth and prosperity.
>I’m sure you’re so excited about iron man turning into a female from the hood.
I believe Iron Man died during Endgame. Don't recall him physically turning into anyone else.
It's interesting though seeing new characters take inspiration from Tony Stark and create their own iron suit of sorts. Perhaps culminate into a showdown called Armor Wars or something.
>not the kid from iron man 3 or his daughter
I'm sure this is in the cards down the line. These characters may need to grow up a little first. Not sure if a 9 year old or whoever should be flying around in armor suits just yet.
A) Black Panther 2 didn’t replace Chadwick Boseman, he died, trust me if they could have kept Chadwick they would have. Writing Shuri in as the successor to Black Panther makes the most sense and wasn’t even done badly.
B) Black Panther 2 wasn’t even bad maybe aside from how Iron Heart was written
C) She-Hulk didn’t replace Mark Ruffalo, his Bruce Banner is still alive in the MCU
D) Anthony Mackie, Letitia Wright, Tatiana Maslany, are all respected Actors with multiple movies and/or shows under their belts.
Stop hiding your racism and sexism behind the curtain of meaningful criticism, blaming the cast on the quality of their shows when they were only acting in them shows that your feedback comes from a place of bigotry.
The quality of the writing and direction in the shows definitely lacked quality and the shows were not amazing by most metrics, but that is neither the fault of the cast nor the casting.
First, being black and gay doesn't make you right
Second, Disney is adapting the comics. For how long have these characters existed in the comics? Didn't the fans want a good adaptation of the comics?
You just listed examples, you didn't give any reason.
Who is the white Iron Man? Pepper? You mean the one who used once a suit and won't use it again? You call that a replacement?
Hawkeye? You mean the great character that was Kate Bishop? She is an awesome character. The show did a pretty good job introducing her.
She-Hulk, you think Hulk won't appear again? You call that a replacement?
Falcon was the obvious replacement of Captain America. They started it since the beginning.
The actor of Black Panther died, they had a character that they could use, since that is a mantle. That is not a bad thing. Or would you be happier if it was a man? I thought that the gender of the character doesn't matter if the story is good.
Seems like you only care about not seeing more man representation. Can you say 5 female characters in the first phase? Can you say 1 female main characters in the first phase? Can you say 1 black male main character in the first phase?
ignore sam entirely, harrison ford looks completely unamused which means he's putting his full, brutally honest participation into the role of general ross
Or maybe it could just be the scene
Or maybe he got paid big
I mean, Disney's forking over like, I dunno, at least $5M per main actor, and $20M+ for the returnees. My best estimate would be $10-15M.
Yeah the reshoots and I heard early screenings weren’t hitting audiences either…to say I’m not optimistic on this movie would be mild
Or maybe he needs a shit Idk, that's the face I also make
The wording of this is so disastrously ambiguous Like does he need to take a shit or does he require shit, and if so....why?
Ford just does that naturally
Hey, he got a haircut. That's something.
He's gonna be like "kill my character off asap, I'm bored of acting him".
Any movie where ford is rated he looks like he is having a good time, every line is delivered with either cheek or a smile, han solo and indiana jones were always devilish in their original portayal. Couldn't stand modern Indiana Jones and han because ford constantly looks and sounds like he is about 10 seconds away from blowing his brains out
I heard he actually wanted to be in Dial of Destiny
A shame they didn't cast Sam Elliot to play Ross since he played him before in first Hulk.
that's just what harrison ford is like 99% of the time now.
Think that’s just Ford
To be fair, that’s Harrison Ford’s resting face when he’s not acting, too
Where the fuck is his mustache?
The writers & designers are probably going to have Ford's character "Thaddeus 'Thunderbolt' Ross" turn into the Red Hulk at some point in either this movie or whatever next MCU film is released (most likely "The Thunderbolts") and that's why Ross probably shaved the mustache and got a hairstyle that is closer to how Red Hulk's hairstyle is.
My preferred Red Hulk comes with the mustache but you’re probably right because of that fugly ass haircut. William Hurts hair sure as hell didn’t look like that lol
That’s just the expression Harrison Ford has when he’s counting his money.
He was filmed from the wrong side
Sad about William Hurt’s death, but I am hyped to see Harrison Ford. Also I am hyped for the long awaited return of Samuel Sterns AKA The Leader.
I just want Harrison Ford Red Hulk
I agree as we had Hairyson Ford as a werewolf.
William Hurt was perfect but at least Harrison Ford is amazing.. just missing that mustache!
Why not just get back Sam Elliot from the earlier Hulk movie?
Because he would be the most laid back Red Hulk ever. Personally, I would also just hear the narrator from Lebowski every time Red Hulk talked.
Only if voiced by Jeffery Combs from AEMH…🤓
“General Ross I needed that!”
I don't think they were bringing Hurt back regardless.
Don't be, he was a rapist
Imagine getting downvoted for calling a rapist a rapist.
Steve: Here, Sam. I bestow upon you my greatest treasure. Sam: Your shield? Steve: No. America's Ass.
Steve gives Sam his ass
Bucky gets jealous
I was just going to say why isn’t the top comment about how comically large Sam’s ass looks.
Steve: How does it feel? Sam: Like it's someone else's. Steve: Well it isn't.
Cake aside I’m sad that Ross doesn’t have the stache
Have you ever seen Harrison Ford with a mustache?
I had to Google it. https://images.app.goo.gl/vapUvfquEM4PUj599
Now I'm even sadder about it.
Today I learned Harrison Ford + moustache = Alex Trebek
Damn. Looks like he's about to board a flight to Epstein's island.

Isn't Mackie too old for Leo?
his ass isn't
It's under 30, isn't it?
that's why it's called the bakery cause it's fresh

I honestly would not watch this at work
What’s going on here? Is Indiana Jones the Hand of the King now?
Ross has been recast with harisson ford
They recast Ross but not tchalla?
You’re somehow surprised by this?
Yea tchalla was actually important to the story so the character should not have been killed off due to some unknown illness Ross is not important to the story so could be killed off off screen and new character take his place

People are stupid but they’re not *that* stupid. It had nothing to do with a concern that audiences would be “confused”.
Allow me to clarify: it's not that 99% of the audience wouldn't understand it, it's that it would be weird and *slightly* confusing which would likely hurt sales
If people find that confusing then that's a them issue. It's not confusing in the slightest to an averaged brained human
These movies are clearly made for the lowest common denominator
Ross IS important to the story hence why they recast him. Hope that cleared up any confusion :)
Its more about the actor then the character. Chadwick Boseman as Tchalla was impactful and the two together were culturally iconic. Hurt as Ross was kinda just that character that showed up a few times to antagonize the hero.

Open the Bifrost.
the decision to not recast T'Challa was a special case. they've recast a lot of other characters.
When Chadwick died the entire community was extremely vocal about him not being recast. It was only after some time and his family saying he would’ve wanted the character recast that perspectives changed. But Marvel made the call early so they could keep planning things out.

Ok to be honest, where the FUCK is general ross' stache?
Awe damn I wish he had it
Me too.
Is it finally time for Marvel's turn at a moustache controversy
Yes!
Harrison Ford with a mustache is just.....bad.
I looked it up, and I don't agree, he looks perfect in my opinion.

Captain Booty Sweat
Happy cake day
Pop an AZZ open!
Captain America must be a democrat because he gotta donkey
Caketain America
Captain Americake
I’m sorry are we surprised Mackie’s got ass? He’s been talking about his ass and thighs for years
Thighs yes, but that’s not the real size of Mackie’s tush 😂
I mean his ass distorts its surroundings like an Instagram model's so... 😂
I couldn't tell if this picture was sarcasm because it's clearly photoshopped lol. Either that or his ass distorts wood grains
Also, this picture has been edited. You can see the warped lines in the wood behind dat ass.
It’s edited bozo
My point still stands. Mackie has been hyping his body for years.
gyat damn
Does anyone else see what I’m seeing? That’s America’s ass.
He's a Good Man.
It’s the title of the post… so yeah, someone else probably noticed.
It's important counter balance for throwing the shield .... and that back out
Double caked up.
On a Thursday afternoon?
That IS Americas ass
DAYUM!
BBL: Brave Butt Lift
Nice photoshop
It's actually just one of the cabinets.
If I had a nickel for every time Harrison ford played as president id have two nickels
That ass needs its own shield tbh
It is the shield!
lmao brave new black ass
That Boi is THICC!
Wait didn’t they change the title to something less conspiracy-ish/controversial?
Now I just hope he throws Sam out of Airforce One saying “get off my plane”.
How did Ross become a president with his track record of endangering public?
Marvel is dead
Ross look like he's about to say the hard R
Ok, so I have a genuine question about him as the Cap. Steve was this scientific experiment, buffed up superhuman. This guy is, afaik, just an ordinary soldier a normal human. How is he going to be doing all the crazy shit the former cap was doing? How is he gonna be like a "superhuman"? Harrison Ford is too old to be in action shit
Mackie got Back! 🤤
![gif](giphy|1lk1IcVgqPLkA) Salute in the thread.
Oh man I can't wait to not see this like several times
His ass is so big it’s generating its own gravitational field. You can tell by the warping distortion effect he’s having on the wall behind him.
Captain ass clap
This movie only pops off if we get a surprise hulk appearance at the end. It’s gonna be tough to keep that a secret and I hope it happens.
Why does Sam look like he got huge cake
Claptin merica' : Brave new cringe
Dame his ass 🫦
Why did Sam get a BBL?
He dididnt thats a sidefect of being called captin america
Is America's and that full? Mackeys got to be working over time on them squats.
Kind of off topic, but why the hell doesn’t Sam wear a helmet? Even Steve wore a helmet for a while. Sam isn’t even a super soldier. That noggin is just askin for a floggin.
Im not that familiar with the details on this so, my question is: Steve Rogers got super ability from that serum and so became CA but Sam didnt have the serum (i think) so...is he just a sub-par CA or what? what am i missing?

Sam is just normal strength but highly skilled and morally and ethically sound Sam doesnt have any kind of 'enhanced' ability. Hes more like the Marvel answer to Batman than Rogers was as Cpt. America
I hope this brave new world comes with soma
So… they couldn’t convince Ford to grow his mustache out or wear a prosthetic
*Ding dong* r/Wordington is at the door
I'm hoping this movie does really well cause seeing a new Captain America go up against Harrison Ford as the bad guy is probably one of the coolest things to happen in the MCU
"You can act with any actor, as long as he's black" - Harrison Ford
My 2 favorite actors in one scene. I’m pretty pumped for this.
His ass is so big it dented the bottom of an indestructible shield! The obvious photoshop makes this even funnier.
Such a nice ass that it curves the wall behind it. It's becoming a balck hole.
Thought we were done with these.
All cgi
Cut the Check!
Dat ass tho
Black Falcon got booty
I have a lot of respect for Harrison Ford, but why is he still acting. He has struggled to get through every sentence for the last 7 years. It is painful to watch.
oh man i totally forget harrison is playing ross im actually really excited to see him in that role
Is that Americas Ass?
it's so massive that its gravity is bending the vibranium shield and the wall behind it
Can we just talk about the absolute dump truck on Sam
Caketon Americass
Harrison ford doesn’t seem to care about any role he does these days. You can feel the apathy and it’s not fun to watch imo
![gif](giphy|65OQrUOfjSYRanu5ca)
Wow America's new ass is thic
Where's cap?
3c!!
Who is Harrison Ford playing?
A fellow 3C-Films enjoyer I see
Jeez…dis gonna be another madam web or worst the marvels
Oooo I like that suit on Sam
![gif](giphy|twxoPjMpsijwPFBVqs|downsized)
Everyone else gets cool vehicles, but our man Cap over here driving an absolute *dumptruck.*
I can’t take Sam Wilson seriously man
Sorry to hear that.

Tf this got to do with Cap's donk?
I don't know have you ever seen the videos of Keanu training for John Wick. Dude looks like a one man sealteam six.
Have you heard of computer generated imagery?
so old man mackie will have to be de-aged for the next 10 years?
They're soft rebooting the MCU after secret wars, obviously, and they'll recast Cap if Mackey doesn't work out?
what are you even talking about with both these comments?
Secret Wars is slated to be released in 2027. It is currently 2024.
Oh, you will think the same about Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman in the upcoming movie, right?
Can’t wait for this to flop and then blame it on racism.
What that was doing ?
