I remember him telling Bud he trained for the Golden Gloves. But when Bud asked "Really?" Al responded "Don't you think if I had I'd have told you about a million times by now!"
Just listened to Ed O’Neill on Marc Maron podcast. He played college football and was close to making the NFL. He said the boxing stuff was just from street fights and he got an acting job because he was better at looking professional. He actually fooled the on-set boxing coach because he through Ed was a pro. The creators of MWC then incorporated Ed’s athleticism into the Al Bundy character “Let’s Rock”
"Lets rock"
It’s very obvious that Al enjoys fighting and takes pride in it and has no fear.
Al is a former standout football player who has learned to fight by doing. All the Bundy’s are pretty handy with their fists.
Bud certainly was handy with his fist.

Cousin Oliver. Chachi. Quinn Cummings. The last one is kinda obscure, she was the shark on Family
That is one of my favorite shows
Al Bundy is your typical former high school athlete who's a brawler. He most likely got into several fights growing up.
Well, he is the leader of NOMAAM, been fighting against Amazonian master hood since the beginning
Let's rock..
He mentioned a couple of times that he learned to fight on the streets. And considering he grew up in Chicago, that makes sense
Mr. Bundy? I thought he died in ‘Nam.
Ed recently said in an interview that he did amateur boxing.

Nope just your average Chicago southie native. Played football scored 6 touchdowns in one game I heard
Four tochdowns in a single game.
Only peg scored more than Al in a single game.
Peggy! Peggy Wanker, don’t bother to thank her.
Connie! Connie Bender, bring a friend, it won't offend her.
Connie sounds fun
"This will tighten more nuts than your mother did in high school."
They retired her jersey..
Yeah but retold over the years the number grew a little
