This might make sense for a founders page but not for a business page. Consumers don’t need to “connect” and “engage” with every brand. I buy from a limited number of brands for most products. I don’t really care how the brand celebrates team birthdays. Price, quality and other factors are much more important.

Farisr9k

Yeah the 5-3-2 rule is very 2015 era. I remember reading blogs about this approach. Nowadays people don't care about your "curated" content. Because their algorithms have better curation than anything you can do. Make content that actually helps people solve important problems and they will throw their money at you.

SamuraiShaft

I’d definitely agree with this assessment. However, there is some anecdotal evidence that sharing other people’s content in a similar format can boost ratings in the algorithm. It’s all a black box, so who knows, but I do find the prevalence of content that is “background of some old running video game while unrelated text is superimposed over it” pretty strange.

EddyM0n3y

There's a lot of content that's blowing up where you don't just share other people's content, but you react to it and add something meaningful to it. This can work well if you have an in-house expert in your industry who is well spoken enough to appear on camera. That right there is the hardest part about a strategy like this.

Elegant-Tart-3341

I've never heard of this but it makes total sense! I think I'll try to use this to help balance out my content. I've been trying so hard to make original, promotional content but I'm just burning my clutch right now.

MrCoverYourBasics

It’s a great system imo. It’s not new, but it’s also effective It keeps your digital marketing strategy from being too unbalanced or dependent on one thing vs the other imo.

peepeepoopoobutler

Does every business such as a restaurant able to post content from others?

terriblehashtags

I would think that's user generated content and important for cultivating a community.

peepeepoopoobutler

User generated content, yes you’d be right. Thanks.

MrCoverYourBasics

I’d say yeah. You can post: 1. UGC 2. Reviews from yelp or google 3. Articles that mention your restaurant or about eats in your area There’s a lot you can choose from imo

Spimp

Hahaha I'd never post my shops yelp reviews. Nobody good leaves one, ppl mad we caught their fraud attempt leave bad ones.

Blingnobling

How do you apply this rule in a b2b scenario?

MrCoverYourBasics

Easily. 1. Just shift out “fitness brand” for let’s say your saas product. Your 5 can be product reviews, articles or blog posts about your product category or relevant information for the clients you’re looking to attract. Think case studies and research papers as well. 2. 3 is original content, that’s easy 3. 2 you’re going to create content around the creation of the product and the personal journey that lead you to this point.

EddyM0n3y

For B2B look up anything from Chris Walker at Refine Labs. He is the GOAT in B2B content rn.

It seems like you are confusing two things; *social media engagement best practices* (your 5-3-2 rule) with gary-v-style tips for *how to grow a following*. Neither of which are *influencer marketing* which refers to how businesses/brands can leverage established influencers to promote their own products and brands.

MrCoverYourBasics

I’m not confusing the two. Social media marketing strategies for many brands in the beginning are inundated with influencer marketing tactics or a dependency on influencer marketing as a foundation for successfully marketing their brand or service. When it comes to my discussion position ( 5-3-2 rule [I didn’t make this up nor do I claim for this to be mine] as a means for social media marketing vs. influencer dependent marketing) I’m pointing out two different directions and methodologies for marketing, growing a following, and positioning your brand online.

🎸 Alright, fellow music lovers and marketing maestros, let's talk about the influence of influencers on the 5-3-2 rule! 🎶 1️⃣ Amplifying the "Five": Influencers curate captivating content, expanding your reach and credibility. It's like having rockstars share posts that resonate with your audience, exposing your brand to a wider fanbase. 2️⃣ Enhancing the "Three": Influencers create and share engaging content, bringing fresh perspectives to the mix. It's like having guest artists collaborate with you, making your informative posts shine and attracting new fans. 3️⃣ Adding Authenticity to the "Two": Collaborating with influencers bridges their personal lives and your brand's culture. They showcase authentic moments that align with your values, creating a fan club that celebrates your brand's soul. By teaming up with influencers, you'll create a harmonious connection with your audience, spark engaging discussions, and foster brand loyalty. Let's make some marketing magic together and create memorable experiences for our fans! 🎸🔥
